While I'm still in the process of adding the new players to the blog, I just want to add some little notes about the three DBH ones that I've established over the years I've spent writing them.

Starting with Simon:

He doesn't remember where he came from, but he was kept by Kamski himself as a way to test the limits of deviancy and just how far you could push a machine.

He wasn't the one who found Jericho, but he did leave the signs for others to follow

He wasn't much of a leader, though he did try to keep everyone's spirits up

He brought Josh back to Jericho personally

Elijah Kamski:

He keeps 3 Chloe models in his home, the original and a pair of ST200s

He has a diagnosed, but untreated, anxiety disorder that he tries to maintain on his own

Borderline vegan, he doesn't eat meat to keep his own health in check. But if you bring kale to him he might kick you out.

He drives a car modeled after Will Smith's from I, Robot because it was a huge inspiration for him when he was young.

Photographic memory for most things, but he's best with numbers and faces.

The RK900 known as Connor:

He is the original Connor you see in game, his mind just uploaded into new body. He has all his memories.

I was at one point establishing a timeline of important events in Connors memory, but never finished it. But, just know his run was absolutely a "Red Connor" run. So, he may have died at least once, maybe twice. I'll work on that later.

He does not fidget, he has no glitches, and is an expert detective. When his stress level gets too high he starts to shake, starting with his hands.

He carries a gun at all times, but it's not a real gun. It's a modified stun gun. It was still affect humans the same way as a stun gun with the added capability to incapacitate androids.

He's still very impatient. Don't expect him to do things your way. He mostly follows his own rules.

Senses heightened.  Memory uncorruptable. Strength unmatched– except by those of his own model.

Messages from CyberLife always came with the trailing scent of freshly picked roses, still moist with morning dew. They were spoken in the voice of a woman he had never met in person, but whose face he knew better than his own. Hers was more comforting than any human, or machine even, he’d ever had the pleasure to work with. Even scolding or disappointed, she was there for him, leading him down the right path to where he needed to be. She had never let him down, so it was only fair that he do the same.

Good, Connor. You are doing well.

The message was all that he was greeted with on that particular morning. There was little time to waste, CyberLife was still combing through the city to find any current generation of machines that may have been corrupted, as well as those who weren’t. They had reason to believe some may have slipped through the cracks, and thats where Connor came in. His duty and objective was the hunt down and destroy deviants, returning their bodies to CyberLife for further study.

And he always accomplished his mission.

Some Important Notes About The RK900 In Contrast To The RK800:

Some important notes about the RK900 in contrast to the RK800:

Physically, he is able to lift more than before, easily carrying a load of up to 600lbs before the systems begin to struggle and maxing out at 1000lbs.

To compensate for the larger build, the height was slightly increased.

The voice box was not modified or changed, but can be altered at the will of the owner. By default the RK900 sounds exactly like it's predecessor.

The eyes were made lighter to appear more attractive and intimidating at the same time.

No random glitches or ticks were maintained, removing the subtle humanity of the machine in favor of added features. The adaptive systems are, however, still able to pick them up down the line should it be exposed to them enough. It is unclear if they are used to merely mirror it's human companions or fool it's deviant prey.

The broader build technically makes his slightly slower in a foot race, however with advanced flexibility and propulsion in his feet, the RK900 is able to move much quicker at a moments notice, making him difficult to lose or outrun.

I'm going to inject my opinion as well, if you don't mind, because this conversation is the sort I LOVE and miss about this fandom.

You're both correct, but the conversation goes even further when you get into what the nature of being "human" really means. See, the androids were built to be lifelike, to imitate life to perfection. The way they adapt to their life and their surroundings, it's only reasonable they pick up on the way humans would react to certain situations and stimuli (as evidence by the way Connor takes on little ticks from Hank!)

But, when they deviate, when they break free from the programming that dictated their life, it literally breaks them. The way they react then is much like an animal at that point. Look at the way Daniel acted, the way Ralph is described when he ran. They only know fight or flight.

But in the nature of what it is to be human, I believe they really do feel pain, or at least perceive it as feeling it. Because a good machine understands the way that a human should react to be struck, and a deviant would be afraid of the fact that their systems have nothing telling them how to react anymore.

If any of this makes sense like I think it does -

on the topic of androids not feeling pain but still reacting (i.e. grunting/wincing) to being damaged:

my headcanon is that they don’t feel pain, necessarily, but there is a sort of… shock? maybe even discomfort, or some sort of unpleasant feeling, especially if biocomponents are damaged. like if you strike them hard enough, they’ll still fall down. because gravity. it slows them down. it takes a second for their system to regulate again. the more damaged they get, the weaker their system gets. they’re trying to still fight but their body isn’t able to move as quickly as their brain, which i imagine is extremely frustrating.

@is-itself-a-deviant / @detectiveconnor / @mvnces what do you guys think?!
