1000xResist is absolutely destroying me right now
This line hit me so hard just for the pure simplicity of it; so much of this game is dense and the meaning takes a second to really sink in, but this is such a direct punch to the gut. All the linguists are dead. They have to make do with what they have. Reaching out and understanding and forming that connection is a very intentional choice they have to make, even if it's difficult. All we can do is move forward.

1000xresist boldly asks the question of what if a slightly awful teenage girl became the most important person the world and it answers that question in the most understanding, loving, fucked up way possible.
Something I can't help but notice is that Blue and therefore the player has ALMOST everything of Watcher.
Watcher gives us almost her entire life.
She never gives us Fixer. Whatever happened between Watcher and Fixer happens before we join the story. We know they were close. We can infer that there's a frustration there - there is a LOT unsaid in the train station - but we never learn what it was. We have glimpses of their lives. Fixer's song, the thing under Watcher's bed, but nothing concrete. Watcher doesn't give us that.
And Watcher doesn't give us their reunion, either. We leave Watcher before it happens. We learn that Fixer offered Watcher an eye, and Watcher refused. We know that Fixer seems to resent Watcher heavily, is angry Watcher made decisions and choices that effected everyone without input.
We don't know how it looked, or how it felt. We know that Fixer doesn't say goodbye. We know that Fixer immediately picks up Watcher's legacy and moves forward with it.
But generally? Watcher does not give us Fixer. Fixer is hers. Fixer is what Watcher keeps for herself. That story isn't ours. We're not allowed it. That's okay, I think. Everyone should have something of their own.
