About Alyce #1

Okay, so I've decided to just kind of create a tag with all of my about stuff. So, feel free to send me any questions or photos like this.

About Alyce #1

Alyce (yes, that's all you're getting lol)

Cancer (Sun) Aries (Moon) Scorpio (Rising) pls tell me your assumptions about me based on that lol

Something happening to my cat. Car accidents. Confrontation.

My cat. Sunny days that aren't too hot. Well polished nails.

Consideration of others. Kindness. Passion.

Being mean/rude to service people. Actively dislikes animals. Lack of consideration of others.

Isn't on Tumblr. Or at least, anymore lol.

Bi, though I am heteroromantic so...kinda cancels each other out in a way.

Got bubble tea and walked around and went to see a troll under a bridge (it's a tourist attraction lol)

5'3.5" or 161cm

My mom 🥺 (she moved to the other side of the country earlier this year)

5:39pm

Looking at my apartment, you'd think it's pink/gray. But, green/purple is usually what I say

Not irl, after my last break up I'm like eh.

"The pen is mightier than the sword." I definitely other much better answers, but this is sorta a mantra I live by.

Edinburgh, Scotland (so far)

Oof, I love too many foods. I like sweets and spicy foods.

No

What A Man Gotta Do by the Jonas Brothers (lmao, my playlist just on shuffle in the background). As I was answering this question, it switched to Balenciaga by Princess Nokia.

Their vibes? Not sure how to describe it, but I can often tell immediately if I'm going to like someone or not.

US 7

Blue

Blonde, though many mistake me for a redhead, so kinda in between

Hard to say. I dress in various styles. I probably default to a tad edgy (think ripped jeans, simple tops, crop tops, Doc Martens). I really like experimenting with clothes though, so you'll find me in many different styles

Nope, I'm boring and have social anxiety

Uh, multi-colored? It has citrus fruit on it

It's a line from "The Last" by Agust D

Stardust (2007)

Actually impossible to choose. My wedding song is Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran, one of my favorite comfort songs is moonchild by RM, Halsey is my favorite female artist.

Again, hard to choose. Currently, it's Stray Kids

Fine

My cat

Single

My mom is probably the person I'm closest with though we bickered a lot when I was a teenager. My dad and I are interesting, but I think he's come to understand me and accept that I'm an adult in the last couple of years.

Christmas (unless my birthday counts lol)

Both earlobes. A tattoo above the back of my left elbow of a semi-colon with the bottom comma being a moon (inspired by moonchild by RM and holding the mental health/suicide meaning of semi-colon tattoos)

I've considered further ear piercings, but I'm not sure I'll do it. As far as tattoos, I want a sunflower (to match my mom and has a symbolic meaning for us), a lighthouse, a daffodil/asphodel combo, and possibly a marigold but haven't decided on that one lol

Originally it was for a college project lol. Even though I'm of the age I wasn't a Tumblr teen as I wasn't honestly that tech savvy

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Occasionally from my best friend

No

A few weeks ago

Depends, but probably an average of about 20-30 mins

Yes

In my apartment

Probably either my mom or one of my best friends, I don't really drink anymore though due to medications I take

Loud

About Alyce #2

This time we'll do a writing related one.

About Alyce #2

Probably Sutures. I am really proud of that one and it remains one of my favorite stories I've written.

This is difficult to answer because my first thought was romance. However, ask me to write a regular contemporary romance and I will fail. I also gotta mix genres. But, the romance arc is formulaic and easy to insert into almost any story.

Whatever floats your boat. As long as they don't go too far, I don't have a problem with them.

From random things. Music is probably the most consistent inspiration for me. Amadeus was inspired by Wolfgang, Sutures was inspired by a random pop song I don't even remember, Dangerous was inspired by a meme/old Jimin live. Honestly, it kinda just pops up during moments where I'm really enjoying or focused on something.

Of course, it depends what you count as a block. I get mini blocks quite frequently. Large blocks tend to be project specific and probably happen once a year or so, but it truly depends. Honestly, the reason I started writing Amadeus is that I've been blocked on my novel for almost a year.

Hmm, I've had the best response when writing for Kpop. It also allows me to make up my own worlds more than other types of fic I've written. Essentially, I take a familiar face and personality and insert it into a novel of my own instead of having constraints of an existing world. (I know non-con fic exists but I have a hard time writing non-con when it takes place before or during the work).

I always shoot for 1500 words. Lately, though my chapters have been coming in at between 2000 and 3500 on average.

As mentioned earlier, I like mixing genres. Based on my work, romance, fantasy, and historical are my favorite genres.

I tend to write for one fandom at a time, but I have written for many fandoms. Now, I kinda write for both BTS and SKZ, but am focusing on SKZ.

Yes, you can see my introduction post to see what I am currently accepting requests for :)

Probably Dangerous and Sutures. Hence why they were the first two I decided to cross post.

I'm going to save us all a lot of time and say that I don't know and am not going to count. I've been writing fanfic and other works seriously for 13 years now so uh...

Both? Like it's definitely just a hobby, but it helps me improve my other writing. I tend to work on fanfic when I'm blocked because there is less pressure with fanfic (for me at least). So, while, yes, it is technically a hobby, it is helping me improve and have the energy and passion for my "thing".

Of course. I read much more than I write.

Read and learn from what you read. Also, do not let likes, follower counts, etc stop you from writing.

No, because I read fanfiction for years before I read a smut fanfiction.

Yes

Usually, I will abandon the ones I don't like. I do think I would do Dangerous very differently now and find certain aspects problematic (more so than I intended when I wrote it).

13 years

I plead the fifth

Eh, not really. I read a lot of AUs. The only thing that bothers me is if a member is a villain or the love interest does something like r*pe the OC. I stop reading at that point. Those people in my fics are always OCs because I am not going to put something like that on someone I'm supposed to be a fan of. (Also most of my idol characters don't kill people. Occasionally, but it's always as a hero for the most part. But I will read mafia fics, so for some reason that doesn't bother me as much unless it's like a completely innocent person).

Depends on the day, hour, minute, and second.

Always in my Kpop fics. Occasionally in others.

Yes.

Of course. It's not usually consciously, but there are parts of me in all my works.

I have too many. Many of them aren't on here anymore tbh, or I can't remember their user names. But I have my regulars I will go back to for BTS. For SKZ, I'm still finding them. Any recs?

Not sure what they mean by this. I am inspired by several other writers in different ways. I wouldn't say I have just one. Marissa Meyer is probably the one that informs my writing style and genre bending most.

Yep, AUs for most of my stories. I think Sutures and Birds of a Feather (not yet crossposted) are the only idolverse stories I have. I prefer AUs for fanfiction of real life figures because then it is obvious that it is NOT the person you are writing about.

A long one shot: Probably 8-12 hours spread over 1-3 weekends. A longer novel length fic? The shortest time it took me was about 6-7 months of almost solely focusing on that fic. More realistically its about 2 years.

My (Maybe) Unpopular K-Pop Opinions

Hello Everyone!

I don’t really post a lot about myself, but now that I’ve somehow gained close to 500 followers, I figured it was time to do another ‘About Me’ post of sorts. This one though is going to be focused more on my potentially unpopular K-pop opinions.

Quick Disclaimer: These are just my opinions and you do not have to agree with me. However, please be respectful. Also, I’m not looking to offend someone, just express some opinions I may not usually.

Okay, let’s jump in!

Idols should not debut before age 16.

Now this isn’t a hard and fast rule. If an idol gets the proper protection from their companies and the entire group is not under age, I don’t mind it so much. However, 16 is very young to enter such a brutal industry. It’s one thing to train and it’s another thing to be an idol. Under age idols are constantly subject to sexualization—particularly female idols, but it does happen with male idols too.

K-pop CEOs need to stop being idolized/romanticized

I’m sorry, but Bang PD is not a daddy. In fact, he’s pretty problematic, but so many people ignore it because he created BTS. Let’s be clear, he wasn’t the one scouting them. Also, it reminds me of how the Directioners (including my teenage self lol) romanticized Simon Cowell because he put together 1D. Yet, his company lost both 1D and Little Mix because of widespread mistreatment.

Kpop CEOs are businessmen. Many only care about their idols for the money. I’m not saying you can’t admire them or respect them, but let’s not be our her romanticizing them, okay? (Memes are one thing but it’s gone a bit far sometimes).

Dice should’ve been Nmixx’s debut song

I really do not understand the hate ‘Dice’ has gotten. It’s the perfect amount of experimental and the concept was quite unique imo. I feel like the members got to shine more.

Loco was Itzy’s last good comeback

I love Itzy, don’t get me wrong, I think a lot of the hate they get is absolutely unfounded and ridiculous. However, the last few comebacks have just not been good and their image almost seems to be going backward. Their current songs are too young for the now fully adult members. These are songs I would’ve expected in their debut era. I honestly think it’s a disservice to the members and I really want to see them return to their bad ass and independent image.

EXID is tragically underrated

It is so rare for girl groups to write their own songs and EXID has been doing so since the second generation. Not to mention, LE is the unsung rapper of Kpop. She’s literally mentored Hyuna and Soyeon (rumored, but likely as it’s well known she’s a rap mentor for Cube).

K-Pop companies should educate their idols in cultural and race issues

This is not to say that individual idols do not have culpability in racist actions, but Korea is a very homogenous country and for those fully raised there, I would expect some level of ignorance. However, if you choose to enter such a public career, it is a duty to learn about other cultures, cultural appropriation, etc. The companies have the budget and ability to do this on a systemic level.

Most idols are forced to have eating disorders

I should preface this by saying that I have been recovering from an eating disorder for about a year. I’m also not out here diagnosing anyone, but the Ah companies force their idols to eat is alarming. Whenever I hear idols talk about food, they often mirror my disordered thoughts about food. Idols should not have to have meal coupons or not get to eat. Instead, K-pop (including the fans) need to accept different body types which are natural.

Thanks and let me know if you want to see more of these types of posts.
