The first Storm King claimant isn’t even Martellus or Tarvek, and dies shortly after. No one can recall who is was.
Tarvek “happens” to be nearby when the Order makes a move to take out Gil, and "accidentally” fumbles his own part, and keeps Gil alive. Subsequently, Tarvek becomes Gil’s (evil) adviser, a role in which he gets to express his opinions. Gil is very suspicious of Tarvek (and rightfully so), and hates it, but it’s definitely one of those use the tools you have, and in the very short term, Tarvek is being weirdly helpful, and Gil can’t afford to not use Tarvek.
(They make a game out of how many weapons are trained on Tarvek at all times. “28,″ Gil says entering a room. “31,” Tarvek replies. They argue over if tranqs count. “Obviously. They can still take me out.” They argue over if water guns count. “Obviously. They’ll still ruin your outfit.” They’ve also fought about whether or not water can stain clothes.)
Agatha, Adam, and Lilith go see the Heterodyne show in town. Mostly it’s Agatha who wants to because she just needs a break. As she’s leaving, she catches sight of three jagers hanging behind the backdrop and goes to save them.
Zeetha catches her sneaking backstage (for definitions of sneaking that involve just tromping through and really is just straightforward trespassing). “I am Skifandrian. You dead,” she announces. She’s developed the habit as part of her intimidation act.
Agatha is just confused because, “I kinda always imagined Skifandrians as more, um, poetical?”
Out of shock, Zeetha lets her go. Anyway, she’s got to tell Master Payne before she leaves.
Jenka’s more than a little surprised to find a Heterodyne when all she was expecting was to spring out Da Boyz.
When Agatha and crew depart again for Mechanicsburg, it’s with four more jagers and a jagerbear openly, and a Zeetha sneaking alongside them. It really takes zero time for her to be discovered. The ensuing fight between Zeetha and the jagers is a lot of fun! Until Agatha makes them stop (and they’re all a little disappointed, but everyone tries hard not to let it show). Agatha hears Zeetha out, and the two of them still become Kolee-dok-Zumil.
It turns out Adam understands Skifandrian. Zeetha rejoices in finally having someone she can talk to! Agatha starts to pick it up. (Starting with the words for “whack” and “smack” and “punch” and “kick” and “run.”)
Jenka and Fust go off to spread the word. Secretly.
Wulfenbach battles around Europa start falling apart as their jager army slowly defects.
Tarvek notes this almost immediately and announces his intention to go to Mechanicsburg. Given the whole Storm King / Heterodyne plot, Gil does not trust Tarvek. Not that Tarvek has openly declared Storm King yet, and this makes Gil all the more suspicious.
Gil orders Tarvek stay behind and goes to Mechanicsburg himself. Tarvek mysteriously develops a disease only the Great Hospital is equipped to cure, and Gil just has to bring him along. Gil refuses to evaluate how much damage Tarvek can do while bedridden because he knows it’s more than he can handle, but he still can’t just let Tarvek die.
Zola’s already gotten to the Castle and is holding the fort. She’s been dismantling and reworking the parts of it that aren’t declaring her Heterodyne.
Castle is barely holding on.

The Empire declares Gilgamesh Wulfenbach as Klaus’s successor
Gil has many changes mplicatee feelings about this turn of events and he can’t talk about them to ANYONE
Many are skeptical about the legitimacy of Gil’s claim. Rumor and speculation is rampant.
Lots of people see this as the perfect time to rebel! Independence! Seizing the Empire! SHOW THEM ALL!!!!
The Storm King Conspiracy is in a hurry to make their move. It’s a chaos of Heterodyne Girls, Storm King claimants, assassins, and confused propaganda.
Tarvek has OPINIONS about Gil ruling Europa. He also thinks that this explains a lot, and (privately) is less skeptical about Gil’s heritage than some.
Agatha is also having a rough time. She learned her true family origins in in a hectic series of events in which her beloved mentor tried to manipulate and use her to seize power in the wake of the Baron’s death.
She, Adam, and Lilith are now fleeing to Mechanicsburg in an increasingly chaotic Europa. She refused to touch her locket anymore.
They learned just enough from Dr. Beetle to know that being captured my anyone from the Storm King Conspiracy would be VERY BAD, bit they don’t have all the details just yet
