if you buy the theory that ballora is based on afton's wife it genuinely gives a really freaky insight into his character

because it implies william's view of his wife was a quiet, unmoving object that didn't protest or raise her voice and existed purely to just sit there and look pretty

this may be a bit of a stretch but knowing how much of a sick bastard that man was i would not at all be surprised if this was the truth
