Aizawa with an S/O with daddy Issues
Author’s Note: I’m totally comfortable writing this! It’s safe to assume I’ll write anything requested, but I can’t guarantee it will be amazing. I did headcanons for this, mostly cause I don’t think a One-shot would do it justice? Idk, but here it is!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
✤Sadly, this wasn’t anything new to the pro-hero. Something about him seemed to draw in girls (and the occasional guy) who had-deep rooted trauma with a parental figure.
✤With exposure, however, doesn’t lead to capability. He had no idea how to handle it.
✤Here he was, the perfect partner in his arms, and they were sobbing into his shirt. So naturally, his brain went back a decade, How had I comforted my students when they cried?
✤ Oh yes, he remembered. He didn’t, All-might did. Well, that really helps now doesn’t it?
✤So, with no other ideas, he treated his sobbing s/o like a cat, because of course, his dumbass brain tells him that’s what to do.
✤Soft shushing sounds pour from his lips as he intertwines his fingers with their hair, softly racking his nails on their scalp.
✤With his eyes closed, he couldn’t see their face, so he just hoped it was working. Slowly and shakily their breathing evened out, and their crying came to a stop.
✤Aizawa is a mess, he wouldn’t have invited their parents if he knew that they didn’t get along, Why didn’t they tell me?
✤It was a stupid idea to have a family dinner/Christmas party. His S/o had suggested getting closer to his parents, so he naturally assumed that they would want their parents there too. He never thought that she might be reaching for the connection she never had.
✤Of course, when he saw them interact, it was painfully obvious their relationship was painfully strained. Greetings were manageable, mostly due to them staying with his parents instead of their own.
✤Dinner started sooner than anticipated, so Aizawa seated everyone before his S/o went to the kitchen to gather the food. With only them and their father missing from the table, it was easy for everyone else to talk and chatter.
✤Their mother seemed nice enough, she was pleasant and kind, if not a little on edge. Her foundation was thickly layered, and she jumped at any loud noises, but she was easy to talk to and never made you doubt that you were heard.
✤Of course, she knew that her family was missing from the table, and she constantly looked towards the hall waiting for something to happen.
✤As soon as Aizawa heard a voice raising he dismissed himself from the table to fetch his love. He was worried, but he didn’t want to project that on anyone else.
✤”Is everything okay in her Y/n?” he glared at the man who stood dangerously close to his child.
✤”Everything’s fine,” he answered, releasing his grip on Y/n’s shoulder.
✤”Forgive me, but I believe I was talking to Y/n,” he walked closer to the pair and stood behind them. It was hard to be taller than Aizawa, as he stood at six feet, and their father must have been less than an inch shorter, but he was still shorter.
✤”Everything’s fine love, let’s go have diner,” they smiled at Aizawa and grabbed the ham.
✤The mean consisted of lovely chatter between the moms, and snide comments about everything from the father.”
✤”I’m just saying darling, I don’t know how are little Y/n managed to start dating someone as pristine as a pro-hero. Even if he is lesser-known, it’s much more than I expected from our special snowflake, don’t you think Y/n?”
✤”Yes, sir. I’m very lucky to have Shouta,”
✤Perhaps is his s/o’s eyes weren’t glossed over, if they made eye-contact or started a conversation, he would have been slightly proud to have their parent's approval. He would have been if he didn’t instantly know how this man ran his household.
✤It ended long after it should have, and Y/n had managed to keep themselves together until the last farewell was said. Then everything came crashing down.
✤Short gasps of explanation were muttered, how he never showed up to anything she invited him to. How he never approved of anything. How he only spoke to her in mocking tones and back-handed comments.
✤It tore him apart to see them like this, which led him to his cat-like comfort method.
✤He definitely won’t be inviting their father over for any events any time soon.
✤Y/n would just have to hold out on the happy news a few more days and hope that he will be a better father than theirs was.
