The living room was dark. As was the rest of the world. Or well, maybe saying the world in its entirety would be an exaggeration. The world was dark for the people of Hyosan.
You stared at your laptop screenâ the only source of light in your house, currentlyâ, clicking your tongue rhythmically as you stared at your wallpaper. On your toolbar, several old internet browser tabs were open. Social medias and such, platforms with information on what was going on. All refreshed and now gone.
The word was everywhere: zombies. A zombie apocalypse that had started spreading so fast one could compare the cityâs situation to the famous movie Train to Busan. Before you could get any more useful information, networks had shut down entirely.
Of course. A classic move. âSo misinformation wonât spreadâ was what the higher-ups of the military had told on TV. But you knew what this meant. Cutting off communications was dangerous, even more so in a city that slowly started to break down under the pressure of some unknown virus that turned people into literal zombies. Not only that, but their means of stopping the spreading of misinformation meant that they stopped the spreading of information in general. Without being in direct contact with what was going on⌠You couldnât know anything.
Like, genuinely.
You lived in a small, humble house lodged in the middle of the forest. Your parents owned it and were always on trips. Theyâd told you you could live there if you wanted since they were almost never home, saying that the house was supposed to be yours when youâd be an adult, but that it worked either way. Youâd taken up on the offer with joy, around the end of middle school. No one but your family and close friends knew you lived there. Needless to day you were a bit cut off from everyone else. You liked being alone, and having an entire house (even if a bit small) to yourself. It was nice.
Youâd dropped out of school mid-year, leaving your close friends surprised and pleading you to stay. But youâd told yourself that social life wasnât really for you, and much less the restrictions of the educational system when you were forced to attend school five days out of seven in a week. So youâd shut yourself in your house. You were fine with it, really. You liked it more than going out every other day. You had food stored for months, and you werenât that far from the city. So if you needed more you could just go to the nearest road, take a taxi, and take a trip to the grocery store to stock up. So you were fine.
Nevertheless, it seemed people naturally craved for the presence of other people. Recently, watching slice-of-life animes during your breaks from homeschool had got you craving for the thrill of a typical ânormal teenage lifeâ. And you missed your friends. You wanted to run out school laughing with them, you wanted to go out for ice-cream on sunny, hot days. You wanted to pass notes with them during classes and get detention afterwards. You wanted to buy stuff at the vending machine as you spoke with your classmates.
But youâd chosen the life of someone who stayed inside.
And this choice had turned out to be the best one youâd made in your life when the news of a virus outbreak in your city, and in your former high school especially, had broke out. You were happy. Gleeful, really. Youâd just escaped what couldâve been hell on Earth, while simply sitting peacefully at home. And with the ongoing crisis, youâd be excused for any homework and assignments youâd miss. So this was fine. It was even good!
Until youâd look away from your laptop screen and face reality again. Youâd swallow thickly, frowning. The old name tag on your desk was something that usually brought you comfort, yet lately it did nothing but worry you.
Lee Cheongsan.
If the school was the epicenter of the virus, then he was in danger. Who knows, maybe heâd even turned already. The thought of your best friend⌠No, the person you loved turning into a zombie was unpleasant, to say the least. So much that every time it crossed your mind, you had to fight the impulsive urge to run out of your house and to the school. You didnât live far from the school, so it would be fine. But still. It was careless and impulsive, so you always refrained.
But you were scared. And you missed him.
You missed the texts he would send you saying your empty seat in class made his heart ache in a dramatic way, before insulting you for saying he was dramatic. You missed his smile when youâd open the door every time heâd come to see you. You missed his hugs. The way he held your hand when you were anxious. You missed your childhood days with him, you missed the teenage ones that youâd barely had the chance to experience. You missed going to his familyâs restaurant when he managed to get you to leave the house. You missed studying with him. You missed taking pictures with him that heâd purposefully try to make blurry. You missed him.
And after several days of zoning out entirely, loud knocking brought you out of that daze you were in. You were scared shitless, to say the least. Just a while ago youâd heard announcements about explosions that would happen around the city, and in the school in particular. Youâd sat there, unmoving as the image of Cheongsan and your friends drenched in blood and dead on the ground plagued your anxious mind. You didnât want to leave for the safe-place the military kept talking about. When theyâd come to your house, youâd grabbed every belonging youâd used recently and ran straight to the basement, hiding there and staying as quiet as possible in hopes that theyâd deem this house abandoned. Your safe place was obviously your house. So you would stay. You were almost certain the explosions wouldnât reach it. And even if they did, so what?
You didnât really⌠feel like living that much anymore. While you knew Cheongsan was someone who was strong and smart, you were still almost certain he could be dead. And you loved him. And he loved you. You both knew. So why would you want to live if the one you loved was dead?
The point was that irritatingly loud knocking brought you out of that train of thoughts. You picked up the knife on your table and carefully walked over to the door.
The military again? Maybe this time you should answer, you thought. But you couldnât be sure. And you didnât have a view on who was outside. You had to at least walk over there andâ
â[name]!â a familiar voice yelled outside. And you froze, and dropped the knife. Because what else could you do? â âItâs me. Itâs Cheongsan. Are you there?â
Then you ran and opened the door.
There he was. He looked exhausted. His features were painted with red, and one of his eyes was⌠weirdly bloody. The veins around it were prominent and visible, almost zombie-like. He was panting, a hand holding the side of your doorframe. You noticed that, besides the blood all over his clothes, a part of his sleeve was tornâ Like someone, or something, had bit his arm.
You grabbed his collar and yanked him inside your house. You closed the door and locked it back to the way it was before, before turning around abruptly. âCheongsan.â
âIâm⌠I canât stay here.â he said, before opening his mouth but hesitating. He took a deep breath. âI was bitten by⌠Someone whoâs kind of a zombie. But not really. I think Iâll turn soon.â
Then why did you come? you thought. You didnât care. You didnât care if he would turn while locked in the same room as you. Honestly, youâd prefer it if he turned with you around. So you could die together. But Cheongsan cared. He would never want to put you in this kind of danger. So why was he here?
Oh. You understood.
âI just wanted to say goodbye.â he said, and you knew. You felt your throat burn and noticed with how much difficulty he gulped. His eye was red, like he wanted to cry. You both wanted to cry. He didnât wanna say goodbye. You wouldnât let him say goodbye.
Before you could say anything, he grabbed the sides of your arms and pulled you towards him. He planted his lips on yours in a short, desperate kiss. You wanted it to last, you wanted it to last so long youâd die. You didnât want him to speak. You didnât want him to say that he was sorry and he should leave. You didnât want him to say he loved you like it was the last time heâd be able to. But he pulled away and looked at you, sad.
âI should leave. Iâm sorry. I love you.â
It was Cheongsan. Of course heâd say it. You grabbed his wrist and held it tight. It was warm, his skin. Not much like a zombie, much more like him. Youâd missed the feel of it. âYou shouldnât have come here.â
He looked away.
âI know. Iâm sorry. Iâm leaving, now.â
âNo, youâre not.â
You suddenly moved towards the living room, pulling him along, before pulling him in front of you and holding him in place. âYouâre not leaving this damn place, Lee Cheongsan.â
âNo, I have to. [name], Iâm gonna turnââ
âDoes it look like I give a fuck? Look me in my eye and tell me if it looks like I fucking care, Cheongsan.â you said sternly, before coughing out a bitter laugh. âIâm selfish, so youâre staying. I havenât seen you in way too long. I spent hours worrying about wether or not you were alive. Now that I know you are, Iâll spend all the time we have left with you. Zombie or not. Youâre staying here.â
He mustâve felt there was no point in arguing, because he frowned, then sighed, and lowered his arms. He bit his lip and slowly nodded. There were tears at the corner of his eye. You glanced at the injured one and instinctively moved your gaze away.
âDoesnât it hurt?â
âKind of.â
You couldnât help how upset your expression was in this moment. You didnât like seeing him in pain. You were certain heâd gone through far worse pains during the time you werenât in contact but it still made you worry. His hands twitched at his sides.
âIâm gonna turn.â he said quietly. You nodded, only bringing him closer. You wrapped your arms around his neck.
âYeah.â
âI might kill you.â
âUh-huh.â
âI donât want to kill you.â
âThen you wonât.â
You werenât pretending. You werenât scared. Youâd sort of given up on the idea of being scared of zombies, at this point. People themselves could be considered scarier, anyway. And this was the person closest to you. The person youâd put above everyone else. This was Lee Cheongsan. And maybe it was wishful thinking, but you strongly believed he wouldnât hurt you. Or that at least, he wouldnât kill you. You didnât know how the virus worked, considering how little information you had access to, but if there was a way for him not to turn completely, it would happen. After all, he hadnât told you he was bitten by an actual zombie. From what he said, it seemed like your theory was plausible, and that the boy could very well stay at least half human.
You felt his muscles twitch under your embrace, his back stretching and him wincing. His jaw was tense, as was every muscle in his body. He groaned in pain and you felt his hands grab the hem of your shirt and tighten around the fabric. He wanted to get away from youâ You wouldnât let him. His body contorted to the best of its ability while stuck in your arms, before falling completely limp against your hold. You lost balance due to the sudden shift in weight and fell on the floor with a yell.
It hurt your head and for a moment your attention was elsewhere, as you winced in pain. You huffed and looked up. The ceiling. Then you looked down. Under your chin, Cheongsanâs head. And⌠All over you⌠Well, Cheongsan. He was completely unmoving. His chest was on yours, yet you couldnât feel his heartbeat. Your fingers touched the side of his neck.
His pulse was there. It was faint, but it was there. That was odd. From what youâd understood, the zombies invading your city were basically dead and the virus was what kept them on their feet. So why⌠Was he alive?
You stayed like this for a while. Maybe it was a minute, maybe ten. You couldnât be sure, youâd kind of zoned out. But eventually, you felt him move. He groaned in pain, and then slowly pushed himself off the floorâ and, well, you. He was breathing heavily. He was breathing. He looked down at you like he was confused. Otherwise⌠He looked perfectly fine.
ââŚ[name].â
You didnât reply. You didnât need to. He was Cheongsan. There was no doubting it. He wasnât some undead human-turned-zombie. He wasnât like the ones youâd seen running in the forest while staring out the window before. He was Cheongsan, with the same gaze you knew.
Except he looked âŚHungry. He gulped and panted a little.
âI really want to bite you.â
âAre you certain you havenât seen anyone walk around there? Someone who looks human? Thereâs a group of zombies with⌠Human behavior. Weâre looking for them.â
You sighed and leaned against your doorframe. âListen, Officer. As it happens, I donât spend my days staring out the window to check if zombies are crawling around. Thatâs your fucking job to do, not mine. I have studying to do, actually. Exams are coming up. And this is the third time you ask me. Could you tell your team to leave me the fuck alone when you go back? Thanks.â
The cop hesitated before closing his mouth and nodding. âSorry. Thank you. Have a good day. And if you decide you want to come to the camp, you can contact usââ
âYou as well!â
You closed the door with a slam and locked it (out of habit) before heaving a sigh. You were really annoyed, quite frankly. You did have to study, that was right. Since it had been a few months since the explosions in Hyosan, it was not surprising that youâd eventually received an email telling you school had resumed. So the incessant visits from police officers and the military werenât exactly ideal. It seemed living in a remote area near a place that was literally bombed down, and not having done any effort to leave it or go to the safe zone was considered a bit odd, if not straight-up suspicious. It was understandable, if you were honest. But it didnât make it any less irritating.
âItâs like you get less and less polite each time they come to ask you questions.â someone said behind you. You sighed and turned around, walking over to your desk and sitting down on the chair.
âWell, obviously.â you exhaled, stretching your arms in front of you. âIâm not exactly free.â
You looked over your shoulder to see Cheongsan leaning on the wall next to the hallway and smiling. You grinned and spun in your chair. âWhat?â
âNothing. Iâm just happy.â
âYouâre an idiot.â
You turned back to your desk with a smile as Cheongsan cursed back at you. You heard him laugh and walk over to you, before wrapping his arms around your neck. He set his chin on top of your head and sighed in content.
âIâm gonna go out tonight. Namra told me the fixed dates for âthatâ were on the last fridays of each month.â he said quietly. You moved your head up right as he did and stared up at him, smiling. You pet the side of his face and he leaned into your palm, a gentle smile on his lips.
âOkay. Take care when you go out.â you said. He nodded.
âI will.â
You stared at him. He was pretty. He was happy. He was better, now. His wounds had healed, and he looked healthier and more well-rested. You stared at him long, and long enough for you to frown. You spun around in your chair to face him and extended your hand towards him. He instinctively leaned down towards you.
You fixed his eyepatch and tutted, shaking your head. âYou look like Kaneki Ken, like this.â
He laughed and tilted his head. âReally? I must look pretty cool, then.â
âYeah.â you sighed, scoffing a little as you leaned back on your chair. âYou look like an idiot who selflessly puts others before himself and somehow pulls off cool shit without getting killed. You are pretty similar.â
He lightly hit your arm and laughed, while you smiled. You also have to eat the way he does, is something you both thought but didnât say. Turns out, he never did bite you. He said he wanted to when he turned, but never did. He always managed not to. Even when you told him it was fine, that you didnât mind if it helped him stay alive. But he never did. And eventually, he found alternativesâ Thanks to Namra, partially. So it was okay.
Now you lived a life as odd as anyone elseâs after this crisis. You lived in your remote little house in the forest, hiding your boyfriend-turned-half-zombie while studying for university entrance exams online. Things were weird, but things were good. You preferred them that way. During the past few months, Cheongsan had told you all about what happened at the school. Heâd told you about how he wanted to text you the moment everything went down but he was in the cafeteria and his phone wasnât with him. He told you about everytime he almost died, and every time one of your friends did. He told you he saw him mom. He told you about Onjoâs dad. He told you why he was injured. He told you, because he needed to tell you. He told you because he needed you to know the reason he wanted to cry. And he cried, and so did you. It felt as painful as it felt relieving. Now you knew about what had went down, but you also knew about the deaths of people you loved and cared about. That was a harsh and cold reality that made you cry despite your preparation for it. Nothing could make you emotionless enough not to react to that. Maybe that was a good thing, but it hurt.
During all that time, you got him new clothes. The bloody uniform was getting a little old. Despite the memories it held, he refused to throw it away. You understood. Maybe it was because it held that many memories that he wanted to keep it. So it sat quietly in the middle of his clothes.
He got an eyepatch, too, to cover the scar. He kept going on about how cool he looked and youâd always insult him in return. He couldnât even put it right, this idiot. It got you smiling.
You and Cheongsan had always loved each other. Heâd finally told you when your last day at school came around, giving you his nametag as he cleared his throat and tried to confess. So you gave him yours and only grinned as you left the school. You texted a lot before everything happened. Youâd only then realized how lonely you felt without his texts and calls. Your friend texted you too, before. But⌠Things happened.
Cheongsan asked you out, too. You thought it was dumb, and that you two were practically already dating at this point, anyway. He insisted. So you said yes. It was nice to think about. Cheongsanâs my boyfriend, youâd think, then smile like an idiot. It wasnât so bad to make it official.
Cheongsan was alright, and so were you. That was all that mattered. Things were okay.
â don't follow me
gyeong-su x gn!reader | 682 words
genre: angst, established relationship
warnings: swearing, major character death, blood, zombies and aouad stuff.
synopsis: it hurt to get bitten by a zombie, but not nearly as much as it hurt to see the person you loved most turn into one.
author's note: to all the people who requested for gyeongsu! <3 (on a real note i have less angsty stuff for him alright pls don't be angry)

âIf there was a zombie apocalypse and I turned into a zombie,â Gyeongsu started, and you were already sighing and pinching the bridge of your nose, âwould you still love me?â
âAre you that stupid?â you asked, slapping his shoulder gently, âObviously.â
âAww.â he cooed, then proceeded to fake a judgemental look, âYouâd love a zombie. What a fucking idiot. Why am I dating you?â
âIf you turned into a zombie Iâd go down with you.â
He turned and looked at you with a quizzical look. You stared at him and laughed silently. âIâd die with you. Think 'd want to leave in a world filled with zombies without you? You idiot.â
âGyeongsu, itâs okay, calm down, justââ
âGet away from me!â
He held the edge of the window, hands shaking and lip trembling on a sob. âIâll justâ Iâll just leave.â he paused to swallow thickly and nod, as if trying to reassure himself. âItâs okay. Itâs fine. Thank you forâ Thank you for everything.â
Cheongsan stared at him, hands balled into fists at his sides as he tried not to cry. He felt powerless. He couldnât do a thing to help him. Everyone stood in a corner of the room, most of them crying or tearing up as they watched Gyeongsu struggle to reach the door.
Once he did, he looked up. Youâd been standing there, arms crossed and leaning against it, waiting for him to come. He managed to get on his feet and gulped. â[name]--â
âIt was really nice spending all this time with you, Gyeongsu-ya.â
âDonâtâ Wait. No, donât. You know that was just⌠A dumb joke. I just asked as a joke, it was months ago. Okay? Move. I need to leave.â
He looked so desperate for you to move and let him go alone that you almost reconsidered. Maybe this was selfish. Maybe it was selfless. Maybe it was no such thing. But you knew you didn't want to live knowing you'd watched Gyeongsu die and turn into a zombie, without having been able to help him in any way.
âYouâll leave, donât worry.â you said, smiling. You moved aside to let him open the door and looked at everyone. âThank you for everything.â
And you walked out. The moment it clicked that you were following Gyeongsu, Cheongsan along with everyone else ran to the door. They tried to stop you but you shut the door and held it tightly shut.
â[name], wait!â âCome back! âWhat the fuck are you doing? Open the door!â
You closed your eyes tightly and backed up against the door, putting all of your weight on it to prevent your friends from opening it. You didnât mind, really. You told yourself this was fine. You werenât lying when you told Gyeongsu youâd die with him. You really preferred it this way. But when you opened your eyes and saw his body contort painfully, blood pouring from his nose and red eyes, you choked on a silent sob. Then you coughed, finding it hard to breathe properly. It was time.
You let go of the door and grabbed his wrist, before running towards somewhereâ anywhere. You werenât far from the staircase, so you went there. You ran down the stairs, and tried to ignore the incoherent noises Gyeongsu was starting to make behind you. How limp his arm felt in your arm, before it started twitching forcefully. You managed to make it to the front of the school before he jumped on you and bit your shoulder. Your hand was still around his wrist, and you managed to move it towards his. Your fingers closed around his lifeless hand and you let your head fall back on the grass. The sky was dark, and it wasnât very starry. You had tears in your eyes, and everything was blurry, and you laughed. You laughed because none of this made sense, and there wasnât anything else you could do.
âGyeongsu.â you said, swallowing thickly, âI really love you.â
And your hands started to twitch. It was the end, but it was okay.
Hambie | Gwi-Nam x Reader

-
âDae-Su, what the hell is a Hambie???â
âOh, you know, a half-zombie.â
âWhat the fuck.. How did you even come up with that, dude?â Y/N laughed at Dae-Su, in which he responded back with a chuckle.
âShit. Iâm so bored.â Y/N said and everyone agreed with her.
She looked at Hyo-Ryong and Ji-Min chatting, she became sad because she technically wasnât friends with anyone in the room, except Gyeong-Su, and well, heâs gone. She never really talked to Dae-Su or Cheong-San.
She stood up from her chair and looked out the window. Zombies were just tripping over each other which made her laugh. The other kids just looked at her like she was insane. How could anyone laugh in this situation? She has a dark sense of humor. She was about to tell Gyeong-su to come look but then she remembered, again. Heâs gone. She looked away from the window and sunk down the wall.
She swore if Na-Yeon happens to survive this, sheâd kill her herself.
With her knees to pulled to her chest, she began to cry.
She wiped the falling tears and stood up, âWho has a backpack?â
Everyone looked at her, âI do.â Hyo-Ryung says, âWhy?â
âBecause, Iâm hungry, Iâm sure everyone else is hungry. Since we canât even get in that closet. Iâm gonna go look for food for us.â
âWhy are you insane?? Youâll die out there!â On-Jo shook her head in disbelief.
âAnd? Iâve got nothing else to live for.â Y/N shrugged and walked over to Hyo-Ryung.
Hyo-Ryung hands her the empty bag then hugs her, âI know we arenât friends but good luck, please return safely.â
Y/N nods and heads out the window.

âShit! Shit! Shit!â Zombies chased after Y/N, even falling atop one another, trying to get through the cramped hallway.
Meanwhile, Gwi-Nam was asleep in a room that was empty.
Y/N becomes tired quickly, readjusting the straps on her shoulders.
She decides to look back, seeing maybe 20-30 zombies chasing after her, âfuck this,â she runs into the closest room and slams the door closed.
âYah! Who are you?â Y/N froze when she heard an unknown voice. Seeing a broom next to her, she grabs it, and starts hitting whatever just talked.
Gwi-Nam was already getting aggravated, he grabs the broom from her, snaps it in half on his leg then throws it across the room.
Y/N is then pushed the against the wall. âWho. The. Fuck. Are. You?â He demanded.
Y/N gave him her infamous resting bitchface, âGet the fuck off me, you fucking stink.â She pushes him off of her.
Realization suddenly hit her, âWait a minute, Gwi???â
She grabbed the bloody hambie and pulled him to her, âOh my god, youâre okay.â
Gwi-Nam realized it was Y/N, âI wouldnât say Iâm okay, Iâm fantastic. Iâm a god.â
âWhat are you talking about?â
âI was bit, but Iâm alive, sweetheart.â He let go of Y/N.
âA hambie!â Y/N laughed.
Gwi-Nam just deadpanned at her, âWhat the fuck.â
ââ
Iâm sorry that this is so bad and short. I ran out of ideas for it. Might make a part 2 if I get enough feedback.

Maybe it will be posted on this weekend.

"There you are." Gwi nam looked so scary and you knew at that exact moment how fucked up you were. He was no longer just a human, but a monster too. "It was pretty cool playing hide and seek, but that's enough now, don't you think?"
"Fuck you, I'll kill you if you come near me!" you raised the pocketknife in your hand threateningly, although you were trembling a little. Gui Nam's lips curved slightly in a mischievous smile.
"Silly girl, you can't kill me," his voice contained an explicit malicious tone, full of promises of the things he could and would do to you from now on. "Behave yourself and I won't hurt you. Otherwise, it will be much worse."
Not Enough Anymore

warnings: slightly angst, jealousy, cursing, kissing (may contain spelling errors, Iâm not a native)
summary: you found yourself desperate for Cheongsanâs love. You wanted to kiss him, touch him, hold him, declare your feelings for him. However, you decided to keep everything inside of you, thinking that it would be better than being rejected⌠until that day when the worst happened and Cheongsanâs best friend, Gyeongsu, found out about it.
____________
Being Lee Cheongsanâs friend was just not enough anymore.
That feeling was growing inside you more and more each day and you knew you shouldnât feel this way. You shouldnât love someone who definitely was incapable of seeing you romantically.
Cheongsan loves Onjo. Cheongsan loves Onjo. Cheongsan loves Onjo. You have been trying to repeat this sentence in your own mind as a mantra for eight months already.
It all started when you moved into the same building as Lee Cheongsan and Nam Onjo. And you soon found out that you three attended the same school as well. You just wanted distance from him, this platonic feeling would get you nowhere, but Onjo and him ending up becoming close to you and eventually your best friends.
The first contact you had with Cheongsan was when you were coming back from the convenience store and accidentally dropped everything because of your father messages on your phone about you being late. Cheong San was kind, he saw the mess on the floor in the hallway and offered his help, picking up the things for you.
Since you were in a hurry, you both didnât exchange many words.
âThank you!â you shouted without looking at him and ran off quickly, almost tripping over your own feet pathetically. What a shame!
Days later, Cheong San met you again since you were classmates. At first, he didnât seem to recognize your face, but he soon figure it out when he heard Onjo introducing you as her new neighbor.
Yeah, you were supposed to be friends, but it all felt like living a love triangle. It was sad you couldnât control yourself from staring at Cheongsan everytime he was distracted with something else.
You found yourself desperate for Cheongsanâs love. You wanted to kiss him, touch him, hold him, declare your feelings for him. However, you decided to keep everything inside of you, thinking that it would be better than being rejected.
Until that day when the worst happened and Cheongsanâs best friend, Gyeongsu, found out about it.
You two were doing an assignment together in the library and you fell asleep because of you lack of resting from the previous night.
âYou havenât getting so much sleep lately, have you?â Gyeongsu looked at you with great interest, curiosity vibrating from every particle of him. âAnyway, you said Cheongsanâs name during your sleep.â
Your eyes widened the instant you heard this.
âNo, I didnât!â
âYes, you did! Iâm not deaf.â Gyeongsu smirked. âYou were like Oh Cheongsan, youâre so handsome and perfect, I love you so muuuch.â you stared at the boy angrily, he obviously was enjoying teasing you and his wicked smile started to make you feel nervous.
âShut the fuck up!â you slapped him hard on his head.
Gyeongsu let out a low laugh, but you ignored him and finished some last details of the assignment just in time for the break to end.
When you two got back to the classroom, you noticed it was empty. You and him were the first ones to return.
âSo⌠â Gyeongsu started talking again. âYouâre in love with Cheongsan, but arenât gonna tell him?â
âHe doesnât need to know.â
âReally? I donât think so.â you felt your throat go dry at the thought of the boy saying something to Cheongsan.
âPlease, donât say anything to him!â Gyeongsu looked at you surprised. He had never seen you ask him for anything like that.
âI donât know⌠heâs my best friend, I canât keep secrets from him.â the boy argued firmly.
âYeah, but this has nothing to do with you.â you replied lowering your voice now that the classroom was already getting full of students.
âLet me tell him. Who knows, hm? Maybe you two⌠?â the boy said suggestively, causing a sigh to come out of your mouth.
âNever. Cheongsan would never give me a chance⌠â
âI would never what?â you heard a familiar voice and then saw Cheongsan coming closer, he looked from one face to the other, trying to understand the situation. âHey, all right here?â
Before Gyeongsu could think of answering, you acted faster than him.
âGyeongsu, please⌠â you ignored Cheongsanâs question as you beg his friend, making the best to sounded sweet and cute to convince him. âPlease⌠â
âAh⌠okay.â the boy moved closer to your ear to whisper the following words: âYou donât have to beg. I wonât tell him.â and then he walked away from you along with Cheongsan, who had a very confused expression on his face.
If Cheongsan insisted at least a little, would he still keep his mouth shut?
No, you're sure you couldn't trust Gyeongsu.
___________
Your fear was confirmed when you heard Cheongsan shouting your name at the end of class in the middle of the hallway, but you didn't stop to wait for him and walked faster. At some point, you were practically running from him.
He knows. Fuck, he knows...
You went down the stairs to the first floor and the main entrance as fast as you could, but you didn't go that far, because soon the boy reached your figure and stop right in front of you, preventing you from scaping.
"Why are you running away from me?"
"What? No, I'm not."
"I may not be the smartest in our class, but I'm not dumb, y/n." he smiled, finding your odd behavior very amusing.
"Okay, hm... then let's pretend...let's pretend you don't know."
Cheongsan raised an eyebrow, not understanding what you meant.
"Don't know what?"
"Stop it! I know that Gyeongsu told you!" you didn't realize that your voice sounded quite a bit loud, causing the other students to stare at the two of you.
"He said.... ?"
"That I-I like you, Cheongsan."
"You forgot this in class." Cheongsan was holding up your math book and you didn't hesitate to grab it from his hand. "Wait... what you just said? You like me... ?" Cheongsan obviously didn't know what he should answer, but what you hated most was what was described in his eyes. Surprise. Disbelief. Compassion. "I'm sorry, I... "
"You have feelings for Onjo." Cheongsan's attention fixed even more on you. "I understand that, let's just forget about today, okay?" you walked quickly past him and he didn't stop you this time, but you could hear him sighing and saying again "I'm sorry."
__________
It would be a huge lie if you said that things didn't get awkward between you and Cheongsan. Not that it was completely bad, but even the way you looked at each other was different.
"There's something else here." Anyone would say that.
All the time, you had the feeling that the boy wanted to tell you something, and it left you in a state of anguish, wanting to know what he was thinking. But a week after you proposed to him, you couldn't even imagine that Cheongsan would react and cross the line.
"What are you doing right now?" you had just showered and were getting dressed when your cell phone started vibrating. It was already late. Why was he texting you?
"None of your concern."
"Are you upsed?"
"Fuck off, Cheongsan."
"I just want to know if you're okay."
"I am fine."
It was your last message before ignoring him, however, Cheongsan did not give up easily. The boy insisted and soon you could see a picture of the two of you together with Onjo in the background glowing on your cell phone screen. Annoyed, you aggressively answered his call.
"What do you want?"
"Come outside."
"What?"
"I said come out here. I'm at your door."
"Cheongsan, it's already very late."
"Please. Come here."
You debated with yourself for a few seconds, but ending up not resisting.
How could you resist him?
You put a sweatshirt over the thin shirt you used to wear to sleep and after making sure you weren't inappropriately dressed, you left your apartment quietly. Cheongsan was standing right in front of your door and he stared at your face for a long time without saying anything. Several seconds passed...
"Cheongsan... ?"
"You are really very beautiful." your heart melted and sped up at his words.
"S-stop it!" You stammered pathetically.
"Sorry for not noticing it before." Cheongsan took steps toward you, breaking the distance between you both.
"Please... don't do this. " and before you knew it, he was close, too close. That wasn't right.
You put your hand on his chest to push him away, but it didn't work.
"I can't stop thinking about you. Ever since that day...I can't stop thinking about it, y/n." Cheongsan lowered his eyes to your mouth and you swallowed hard. "Keep quiet, I need to try something."
You didn't have time to protest or think about anything before his lips met yours, initially it was supposed to be an innocent kiss. You felt like you were going to fall, but Cheongsan held your waist with one of his hands. He was really kissing you. It was real. Not a dream.
He deepened the kiss, his hold getting tighter on you, his body dangerously close to yours, and soon you both were making out as if this was the only way to stay alive. So wrong. You were in your front door and anyone could see that scene.
"Cheongsan... " you pulled your face away from his, looking into his dark eyes.
"Good night, y/n. Have sweet dreams." Cheongsan seemed like he wanted to kiss you again so badly, but he didn't. So you pushed him away and quickly came back inside your apartment.
You sighed deeply. Your legs were wobbly.
________
The next day, Lee Cheongsan said that it was a mistake what he had done. That he had acted on impulse. Cheongsan made you cry by saying that he loved Onjo and could not like you back. It hurt too much to hear. It hurt you even more that Cheongsan acted as if nothing had happened. He had said that he couldn't stop thinking about you and kissed you like that, and now... this? What a asshole.
Onjo had noticed how awkward you two had been lately, avoiding each other as much as possible. She tried to bring it up whenever the two of you were in the same place, but it was the same response from both sides. Nothing. There was nothing going on...
You felt so tired, you didn't want that heavy atmosphere with Cheongsan anymore. You wanted to have him around you. Even if only as a friend.
So you decided to move on when a student in your class asked you out, maybe if you started to date someone else everything would be okay...
"Are you insane?" you were so focused on your book on the table that you got a big fright when you heard Cheongsan's angry voice coming into the library.
"Cheongsan, I'm trying to study."
"Are you really going out with that guy?" he closed your book on the table to have your full attention on him.
You bit your lower lip nervously.
How did he know that? You hadn't told anyone except for Onjo...
"Who told you that?"
"Answer my question first." Cheongsan demanded.
"Yeah, I'm going out with him."
"No, you're not."
"I'll go out with whoever I want!" you stood up from your chair and pointed your finger in his face. Slowly, Cheongsan's expression became lighter and he smiled a little.
"What are you smiling at, you idiot?"
"You look so small and so cute trying to fight me." his smile got larger, but Cheongsan cursed as he was kicked hard in his leg. This time, you were smiling in victory.
"Lee Cheongsan, you are a... " you couldn't finish the sentence because the boy took you by surprise by hugging you suddenly. A very tight hug. It was as if he was afraid that you were going to run and disappear away from him.
"Please, don't go out with anyone else."Â the boy whispered, keeping you tied in his strong arms, and although you didn't respond with words, you hugged him back and that was just enough.
____________
It turned out to be you and Cheongsan's secret that you met with him secretly almost every day at school. Deep down, you were aware about the reason he might wanted it that way, but you pretended not to.
Maybe you were just being used, but you enjoyed being with him too much to stop and think about it properly.
His lips and his touch were addictive. You felt safe in his arms.
Maybe Cheongsan could fall in love with you eventually. Maybe he will forget his love for Onjo. Could he fall for you? Be yours?
However, the most important thing at that moment, while the boy pressed you against the wall of a empty room and once again got lost himself in your sweet kisses, you knew that Cheongsan was only yours.

Page three-hundred-and-thirteen. You sighed deeply, running a hand over your face as an attempt to get the tiredness off of it, before turning the page of your textbook.
Your eyebrows raised, unimpressed.
âPi.â you and Joonyoung both said in sync. That earned a chuckle from you, in the midst of your slight despair. You looked up at your study partner to see he looked just as exhausted. Joonyoung was a good student. He studied properly, and put studying above many things other students wouldnât. He kept going on about how âeven if itâs annoying, I canât get anywhere in life without good gradesâ not in this worldâ. He was right, unfortunately, but that was more reason to study with him.
It wasnât some sort of official agreement to become study buddies. Youâd just been meeting at the library more and more often, and given you were both in the same class, youâd decided to approach him at some point to ask if you could study besides him. You vividly remembered how frozen he looked as he stared at you that dayâ It was almost funny how caught-off-guard he looked. But he agreed, eventually. And so now, you always studied together.
But it was still tiring.
Your cheek landed on your hand and you stared. He readjusted his glasses, and took a deep breath, eyes scanning over the pages. You couldnât say youâd only now noticed how pretty his eyes looked, especially during the times youâd spend studying, under the afternoon sun. You couldnât say youâd only now noticed how attractive his facial features in general were, how nice his lips looked⌠Ah.
Yes, you had a crush on him. You didnât do much to hide it, but didnât do much to show it either. You just⌠Were pretty obvious in the way you looked at him each time youâd see each other. Daesu had hit the back of your chair in class one day to tell you to stop staring at him like that or âhe might think you have a crush on himâ. But well, that was true. And almost everyone close to you was aware of it by now.
Joonyoung pretended not to notice your gaze on him, hoped his face wasnât overly red, and acted as if his mind was actually registering any words his eyes looked over. He couldnât focus. How could anyone expect him to focus when you were staring at him so intently? It wasnât the first time heâd noticed it; not that you were very subtle with it, but oh well.
He glanced up at you, and suddenly your eyes were back on your textbook. He sighed quietly and licked his lips nervously. You looked awfully attractive when you were focused. Or at least, when you pretended to be focused. You were always attractive, if he was honest. Joonyoung was honest, but he wasnât lying to anyoneâ Since no one had asked him if he liked you, he had no one to lie to. He was honest. And you were honestly the most beautiful person in the entire school.
âDo you like me?â
He gulped, blinked, and froze. The words repeated at least five times in his mind for him to register what you were asking. Youâd asked in such a casual way, not even bothering to look up when you did that he⌠Had a hard time believing heâd heard it right. So he cleared his throat. âWhat?â
You looked up this time. You looked nervous.
âI asked; do you like me?â
He repeated the same cycle. Gulp, blink, freeze. Then rethink over the question. He didnât feel the need to lie, but there was a very high possibility that despite your very obvious staring at him, you could not like him back and therefore heâd only keep this moment in his box of embarrassing memories. The type that keeps you wanting to throw yourself off a cliff for several days afterwards and comes back to bother you months later, making you want to throw yourself off a cliff just as much as when it happened, if not even more.
Nevertheless.
âWhy do you ask?â
That was not a lie. That was a question. He was avoiding answering, sure. But it wasnât a lie. His teeth dug into the inside of his lip in nervousness.
âBecause.â you said. âI want to know.â
You were making things complicated. The look on your face didnât help him know wether or not you were aware of that.
âWell,â he chuckled nervously, looking down and moving his pen between his fingers in rapid motions. He was quiet for a moment, thinking about how to reply, before he finally looked up at you. âI could ask you the same thing.â
You visibly shivered, then shook your head and looked away. He followed your gaze. You were staring at a paper on the table, your fingers fiddling with its edge. âWhy?â
Now that was mean. But he had a counter argument prepared for this one.
âBecause it kind of looks like youâre studying me more than the textbook?â he said, and it came off as a question more than a statement. Nevertheless, he sounded confident enough. He was not. But he sounded like it, which was good. If you were to make fun of him for some reason he could play it off as a joke more easily, this way.
âWell, you have a pretty face.â you said casually, nodding to yourself with a slight pout, before looking up at him. He had to cough so he wouldnât choke on his own saliva. Your own statement made you more flustered than youâd like to admit. It seemed like he felt the same.
He scratched the side of his face, the tapping of his pen against his open textbook filling the silence around the two of you. He nodded in acknowledgement, at last, and pursed his lips. âThanks. Uh, you too. You look nice.â
You cracked a smile. âThanks.â
Quiet. You opened your mouth to speak, but Jooyeon beat you to it.â
âI do like you.â
The silence was overwhelming. Your heart was beating so fastâ You couldnât look him in the eye again for now. It was too hard. You staggered a bit, hand moving to scratch your head, and all you could get out for a few seconds was a nervous chuckle. Then you composed yourself to the best of your ability. âGood. Because I like you too.â and this time you said it while looking him in the eye. You had the pleasure of watching his expression go through 5 different emotions before he looked away and covered the lower half of his face.
âThatâs good.â
âIt is.â
You both shared a look, and nodded, then cleared your throats and went back to studying. You went five minutes in silence before it was broken again.
âDo you wanna date?â
âYeah.â
You both looked at each other and nodded, before going back to work, hearts pounding and smiles pulling at your lips. This was nice.

synopsis: itâs getting funny to see your friend group tease you and cheongsan about how good of a couple youâd make. really funny, actually.
authorâs note: thank you for requesting! i hope i understood your request well and that you like it!!! <3

âStop it, you two. You look like a couple.â Joonyoung scoffed, shaking his head as he looked down at his book. Daesu and Wujin laughed, nodding their heads.
âFor real. Get a room, or something?â Daesu added, teasingly bumping his shoulder, while Wujin bumped into yours. They exchanged glances before grinning mischievously and leaning closed to the two of you. â⌠So you can kiss without us interrupting.â
You pushed Wujinâs face with the palm of your hand and heaved a sigh, shaking your head, while Cheongsan only looked elsewhere. Your lack of response got the duo sighing and muttering words about the two of you being no fun.
âCome on, leave them be. If they say they donât like each other like that, they donât.â Onjo chimed in, chuckling despite her statement. âOkay?â
âNot okay!â Daesu scoffed, âWhereâs the fun? The excitment?! Plus, theyâre both missing their name-tags. Isnât that odd? Isnât it?!â
You rolled your eyes lightheartedly and walked away.
âAnd theyâ Stop ignoring me! Man.â
This was a daily occurence, now. You and Cheongsan would do something as simple as talking or exchanging homework notes and your friend would start going on about how good of a couple youâd make, or something along those lines. You two were always telling them off, saying there was no such thing between the two of you anyways.
But, well.
âYou guys were actuallyâ Like seriously dating? For real?!â
Joonyoung said what everyone was thinking when they walked over to a remote part of the rooftop. Everyone had gathered here, staring at you two wide-eyed as your hands awkwardly hovered over Cheongsanâs face, and his tried to move away from your waist. He was the first to clear his throat and turn around, but no words left his mouth.
âNo way. You guys were maââ Daesu stop talking when you held your hand up in what felt like a warning of sorts.
âBefore you get any ideas, we werenât making out.â you said, raising your eyebrows. Cheongsan muttered something in your ear and you elbowed his waist, resulting in him wincing and nodding as he turned away and everyone following his movement with their eyes. Their gazes all turned back to you when you spoke again. ââŚWe were not. But, we are dating.â
Joonyoung whistled as he turned away and Daesu held his hand up im triumph. Onjo scoffed and started going on about her not having her wallet during a zombie apocalypse, and you figured theyâd placed a bet on whether or not you two were dating. If you were angry, you couldâve very well hit them both for that, but you werenât. Surprisingly. Maybe it was because you expected it, but it felt fine. Good, even, for everyone to finally know the two of you were together.
Cheongsan joined your side again and instinctively put his arm around your shoulders.
âHow long have you guys been together?â Suhyeok asked, curious, as he raised an eyebrow. His lips were turning into a teasing smirk that was very much directed towards Cheongsan and you could feel how much the latter wanted to punch him. It made you laugh.
âThree years.â he said, before scoffing. âSo stop acting like you knew everything when you only started going on about us dating at the beginning of the school year. Idiots.â
There was muttering and whistling and laughs about how surprising it was that youâd spent so long together without anyone noticing a thing.
âLook at him getting all worked up.â Jimin said with a slight grin and Namra chuckled. Onjo pulled both your wrists and leaned in closer.
âYouâre lucky Iâm nice and didnât tell them.â
You shared a look and smiled, murmuring a small âthanksâ as she grinned in return.
âAlright, you guys, letâs go back to the fire. Iâm getting cold.â she said, pulling you two along as she did. Everyone agreed, some shivering exaggeratingly as they jogged back to the fire.
You and Cheongsan followed closely behind the group, and you turned to each other with a smile.
âStop smiling, idiot.â you said.
âYou stop smiling, idiot.â he retorted.
Neither of you did, until Joonyoung yelled at you both to stop smiling like fucking idiots or youâd have to share body heat because theyâd keep the fire to themselves. And then you stopped and rushed over to the rest of the group to sit around said fire. Daesu and Wujin started talking about how you guys could say you not only spent three years dating but also survived an apocalypse together, and then Joonyoung started talking about Suhyeok and Namra which brought on more teasing, until the ones teasing ended up quiet when called out on the fact that they were still single. Which was quite funny. It was a nice evening.

sypnosis: gyeong-su runs after you when you suddenly storm out of the broadcasting room, only to find you feeding on someone in the resroom. with his torn knitted vest and love for you, how can he not be able to comfort you?
author's note: oh my gof. i am in awe with this man. !not proofread!
dedication: @xhornybiatchx <33

it was a night of tranquility. as the hands of the clock just reached midnight, the chin of gold stood out most from the glimmering specks of silver sprouting throughout the night sky, yet they still both shined like sapphires lost in diamonds through the window of the broadcasting room nevertheless.
only it truly wasn't such a tranquil night. not when fucking zombies were in hyosan high; crowding the halls, the classrooms, the cafeteria â literally everywhere.
still, silence lingered amongst you and your friends in the broadcasting room, even if it was all chaos outside. but in quietness, there remained a manipulating voice in your head.
legs shaking, you slowly stood up and walked to the very corner of the room, away from everything and everyone. sliding against the wall, you sat on the floor with your knees held close to your chest.
'eat them.' your voice persuaded, as you continued to chew on your nails. 'just fucking kill them all. it's so easy.'
'just a bite . . .'
"(name)?"
the honeyed voice of nam on-jo sounded like peonies in a field of silken lavender when she snapped you out of your endless reverie. 'why do you smell so good?'
"hey, are you oka-"
not letting her finish the sentence, you suddenly stood up and pushed her, causing her to fall on the ground, whilst you were quick to catch everyone off their guard, immediately running towards the doors to escape.
you succeeded, of course.
the screams of your beloved friends followed in your growing absence, only you didn't care at all. you simply kept running, wondering how the hell you didn't attract the zombies that were surrounding you if you were out in the open.
in time, you found a vacant place that would help you calm your nerves; the restroom.
shallow breaths came out of your mouth, as you gripped the edge of the sink tighter. overcame by hunger, you bit your hand. suddenly hit by reality, your head hesitantly tilted up, eyes glancing at yourself in the cracked mirror that was splattered with blood.
you shrieked, tears pooling in your eyes. you hit the cracked mirror with your bitten hand, making it shatter even more, as shards of glass pierced through your skin; you didn't even try to pull it out.
'how had it come to this?'
unconsciously, your hand started to reach where you got bitten by someone, shuddering at the brash presence of the memory that had just happened three hours ago. you didn't tell your friends, you were afraid on what they would do.
hearing whimpers coming from one of the stalls, your train of thoughts were interrupted. with step by step, you approached the third stall, being fast to open the door, only to see someone epitomizing a coward, choosing to hide in the murkiest corners, accompanied by dark shadows.
from the voice in your head entrancing you with the idea of your hunger being fulfilled, and to her irresistible scent that made your senses animalistic more than ever. you couldn't fight it.
you lunged at the frightful girl.
biting her neck, her flesh was in your mouth. and you felt sick because you loved it. you basked in the everlasting glory of her taste lingering in your mouth, of the screams that couldn't help but escape her, of the way her blood was painted on the walls and on you.
it was the first time in a while that you felt free.
"you're not eating without me, are you?"
you stopped. letting go of the limp body, tears fell down your face as you turned behind you.
it was gyeong-su. of course it was.
he looked disheveled after running for a long time to find you, but his entrancement of youth still remained. it was han gyeong-su, after all.
sobbing, you curled up into a ball on the floor, as your best friend quickly fell down to your side. "hey, hey, hey, hey, why are you crying? stop crying. i hate it when you cry."
"what does it taste like?" gyeong-su asked, his warm hands holding your cheeks as his thumbs made all your tears go away.
you couldn't help but laugh, sniffling, whilst you remarked. "what do you want me to say? it tastes like chicken?" gyeong-su chuckled, but it quickly disappeared as he heard a wretched sob come from your bloody lips.
"hey, hey, hey, hey, why are you crying? stop crying. i hate it when you cry."
he stood up, ripping a part off his knitted green vest, rinsing it with water from the sink.
"what are you doing here? you're not supposed to be here." you grimaced. gyeong-su only ignored you, whistling a tune that lovebirds would sing. he continued to wipe the blood off your lips with the upmost gentleness, as he held onto your hand and caressing it with his thumb.
once he was done cleaning you up, his fingers were entangled in your hair, massaging your scalp.
the way he was with you could almost make you cry.
actions meant more than words with han gyeong-su.
as one final touch of grace, he leant forward to kiss your forehead, stroking your cheeks, as a red blush coated them, with you smiling, drunk in euphoria.
"i love you so so much, darling."
but then, you closed your eyes, and when you opened them again, you were greeted with nothing, as everything that gyeong-su did came undone. and you were only on the ground, uncontrollably rocking back and forth as your cries of anguish became louder and louder by the minute.
because han gyeong-su was dead.

synopsis: you were quietly looking around the room as everyone rushed to check on why gyeongsu wouldn't leave the recording room. you watched, keeping a close eye on nayeon. and right on time, you caught her red-handed.
author's note: you're welcome y'all /hj i need more gyeongsu gifs also

âWhy wonât he come out of here? This stubborn idiot.â
You slowly stood up as everyone rushed over the glass window of the recording room while Mrs. Park walked in. They were all talking about why he wouldnât leave and such things. Namra stayed on her seat, a bit further away from the others, and Nayeon unexpectedly walked over to the glass window with them. You took slow steps to follow behind her.
After everything the girl had put Gyeongsu through, you thought itâd be best to keep an eye on her. You didnât know what she was capable of doing, how far she was willing to go, but you knew if anyone was more stubborn than Gyeongsu, it was her. And that scared you. If she was so stubborn and stuck on the idea of your boyfriend being infected, who knew what she would do to prove she was right?
Your hand grabbed onto her wrist harshly, holding it in place. She stilled in her movement completely and slowly looked up to meet your gaze. You looked calm, despite how hard your grasp on her arm was. You stared at her silently and lowered her arm. Down and away from the broken broom. âWhat are you doing?â
âJust⌠Just cleaning⌠theâŚâ
Your gaze mustâve been too hard for her to hold, from how frantically she averted her eyes from your face. She paused to swallow thickly, as if searching for a credible answer to your question. Sheâd been caught off guard. Dare you say, caught red-handed.
âCleaning what?â you asked quietly, purposefully getting closer to her face so only she would hear, âA zombieâs blood off a wooden stick? Are you planning to kill someone?â
Her eyes widened and she pushed you off, but your hand was still too tight on her wrist for her to shake it off. She desperately tried to move her arm, in vain. You heard the door of the recording room open and understood why she was so distressed at the idea of not being able to move away. She yelled out in frustration with a last, harsh attempt at getting her wrist out of your hand.
âWhat the fuck do you think youâre doing? Let me go.â she said loudly; loudly enough to attract everyoneâs attention. Even from the recording room, Gyeongsu seemed to have noticed the commotion. You scoffed with a smirk as Mrs. Park hurried over.
â[name], what are you doing? Let go of her wrist!â she exclaimed, hand moving to grab your hand before you spoke up.
âMaybe if she admits to attempted murder on her classmate.â you said steadily, eyes never leaving hers. She looked furious, irritated at being caught doing whatever it was she was attempting to do while everyone had their backs turned. But you didnât relent. âSo? Do you mind talking or should I do it for you?â
âThatâsâ You canât accuse someone of attempted murder, [name], thatâs far from being something to take lightly! I know things are very stressful for you and everyone else but it would be unfair toââ
âTo let her try and kill Gyeongsu just because she canât stand being wrong.â you cut her off, turning to look at her over your shoulder. âRight, teachâ?â
She seemingly stumbled over her own words, before shaking her head. âNayeon-ah. What does this mean?â
âNothing! I wasnât doing anything and this fucker just grabbed my fucking wrist!â
âThey didnât do it for no reason. Use your heads, for once.â Cheongsan chimed in, stepping closer. He furrowed his eyebrows and pointed to the girlâs hand. âSheâs holding something.â
âMy handkerchief.â Nayeon said, before scoffing and holding her head high, âWhat? I canât have a handkerchief anymore? The fuck is wrong with all of you?â
âNayeon-ah. Please hand it over.â the teacher said, extending her hand. Nayeon hesitated, and then looked at you coldly. You raised your eyebrows and moved her hand up for her.
âDo be careful with it, teach.â you said calmly, chuckling, âThereâs zombie blood on this. Donât touch it if your hands are injured.â
She made a confused face but grabbed the handkerchief. Her eyes widened as she inspected it, and glanced over the broken wooden stick theyâd used to kill a zombie just earlier. The gears seemingly turned inside her head along your other classmatesâ until they understood.
âThis is a murder weapon, practically.â you said, nodding towards the piece of fabric. You tightened your hold on Nayeonâs arm and held it up as a harsh reminder of the predicament she put herself in and smiled. âAnd this is a murderer.â
You loosened your grasp on her wrist and she easily shook your hand off. You folded your hands behind your back and stepped aside, before turning around to face the rest of the group. You wore a calm smile on your face as you waited.
âWhat do we do?â
The teacher sighed and stepped forward. âLee Nayeon. Were you really going to use this on Gyeongsuâs wound?â
âNo! What do you think?!â
âNayeon. Be honest. Please.â
âNo, I⌠I just⌠I was justâŚâ
âThereâs no reason for you to be cleaning a fucking zombie-blood-stained wooden stick we used to kill a zombie, you fucking stuck-up bitch.â Jimin scoffed.
âJimin, languagâ Ah, nevermind, Just⌠Just quiet down. Nayeon, please just tell us the truth.â
âI⌠I just wanted to⌠Fuck, I just... I wanted... To make you all think that I was right when I said he was infected, I justââ
You walked past her, purposefully shoving her shoulder as you headed to the recording room. You opened the door and stepped in quietly, before closing it behind you. Gyeongsu was leaning against the table, staring at the room as he seemingly tried to understand what was going on. He turned to you the moment you stepped in and lightened up. âHey. Whatâs going on out there? This girl being annoying again?â
You walked over to the chair heâd previously been sitting on and intertwined both your hands over the table. There was an odd silence for a few seconds before you slapped your hands on your face and screamed a muffled yell of frustration. You then put your hands back on the table and breathed calmly, acting as if nothing happened. Gyeongsu stared at you with wide eyes, obviously concerned.
âAre you okayâŚ?â
To be honest, you were the one who wanted to murder someone. It took everything in you not to completely lash out, grab that bitch by her hair and hang her head over the edge of the window. It was so hard to keep your hand from twisting her arm until it ached. It was so hard not to punch her so sheâd shut the fuck up. But you had to keep calm, because if you were too hysterical, they wouldnât listen to you. Nevertheless it was unfair. She deserved to at least be punched. She tried to kill someone.
She tried to kill the person youâre dating, at that.
âYes. Now that Iâve managed to stop her, Iâm quite fine.â you said, smiling as you looked at him. âNow, you owe me one. Nayeon was trying to kill you.â
His eyes widened even more and he ran over to where you were sitting. âWhat?! What do you mean?â
You nodded towards the glass window of the recording room and Gyeongsu followed your gaze. Nayeon was crying and Namra was talking to her, seemingly annoyed while the other girl stammered over what she tried to say. Cheongsan rushed towards her before anyone could stop him and pushed her so harshly she almost fell. Suhyeok held him back, and you chuckled a bit. It looked like she was still trying to explain herself, before the teacher pulled her aside to another corner of the room and sat her down with her. You scoffed. âShe was wiping blood from zombies on a handkerchief. She was planning to put it on your scratch.â
The boy instinctively looked down at the wound at the mention of it and frowned, scoffing. He wrapped his hand around it as if the blood was actually about to touch his wound, and you put your hand on his as an attempt at comforting him.
âHonestly I talked to her and everyone like I was certain thatâs what she planned, but part of me was scared I was actually completely wrong. Then everyone would hate me, or something. But there was no reason for her to be wiping that blood that seemed as⌠Terribly logical as the one I came up with. Turns out I was right.â
Gyeongsu fell down on what he expected to be the chair but ended up falling on the floor. You laughed despite everything and held out your hand. He scoffed a chuckle and grabbed it as you got up to give him the chair back. You sat on the table instead and exhaled.
âSo I almost just got killed.â he said, nodding to himself like he couldnât realize it. You pursed your lips and sighed, looking down.
âYup.â you said, âYou did.â
He ran his hands over his face before holding them up on the top of his head. From the looks of it, it looked like he wanted to punch her very much, too. Understandably so. But he only gulped and nodded, before taking a deep breath.
He looked up at you and grabbed your hand. âThanks.â
You smiled. âWhy, of course. Now Iâm counting on you to save me if I need it at some point, okay?â you said with a grin, trying to lighten the atmosphere. He waved his hand in dismissal, pulling off that overly-confident smile of his.
âObviously!â he scoffed, before grabbing your chin to bring you down to his level. He had a small smile on his lips when he kissed the corner of your lips.
âWho do you take me for?â then he smiled fondly and kissed you properly.
And you grinned. You knew both of you were dead scared, despite your attitudes. It was frightening to think that if you hadnât noticed, Gyeongsu mightâve just turned into a zombie as well. So when you pulled away you immediately wrapped your arms around him as tightly as you could, and he exhaled and reciprocated the hug just as tightly. You both needed it. You could feel it.
This was nice-- Better. You felt relieved. Finally.
all of us are dead â yoon gwi-nam âfamiliarâ
requested by : đš anon [ can i request a gwi nam one shot please? with gwi nam being protected over the reader during the apocalypse (after he turned into a zombie human thing? idk what to call it lmao) and he takes care of her after finding her hiding somewhere and sheâs crying and scared. i love ur writing and i would really appreciate it <33 ]
warning : gw*-n*m >:)), a bit ooc + spoiler

âI'll kill you! I'll fucking kill you!â
They all ran, his screams attracting the zombies by the library as he glare at the boy who remain perched atop of the bookshelf.
As soon as he returned, most of his memories were wiped out of his head, they all became vague and gray, it felt like he was forgetting something important.
What is it?
What is it?
He let out a grunt, pushing away a zombie that was busy clattering it's teeth like a damn fool. Cheong-san be damned, he's too busy trying to scratch out that very something that gnaws him at the very core.
Aarghh! What the fuck is it?!

He racked his brain, scratching it to bad as if it will get him to remember what it is until heâ with his senses heightened because of the infection, smell something.
Something familiar.
It was a scent that he seems to be longing.
Frowning, he walk leisurely with his hands on his pockets, taking all the time he wants while looking around his surroundings, bumping and smashing zombie's along his way. He is God. There was no plausible explanation as to why he isn'tâwhy he was chosen. Aahh, this is life.
Gwi-nam slide open a classroom door, raising a brow at the one mindless undead who's scratching a wall. Fuck that damn bitch looks so stupid.
One sniff.
He turns his head to look at the teacher's desk that has been closed off with some tables and a few chairs.
A small cry.
Though not audible by human ears, Gwi-nam who has been âblessedâ to be immune to the virus, gaining a more powerful sense of hearing, managed to hear it.
He stops right in front of the desk, peeking underneath to see a trembling girl, legs close to her chest and dripping in blood, sweat and tears. Quite literally. âHmm..?â
At his voice, you looked up, eyes widen at recognition of whom it was.
Those eyes and gaze that sends Gwi-nam back made him remember youâah, God, thank goodness you are alright. He crouched down, pressing a finger to his lips before opening his arms for you.
ây/n-ah.â He calls your name, it tickles his body.
You slowly hugged him, still terrified and wary. You're safe, his precious y/n. he cradles you in his arms, his skin searing with your warmth like fire. Gwi-nam presses his lips on your crown whilst his hand rubbed your back up and down to provide comfort. There was an uncomfortable silence as he relish you in his hold once again.
He then pulls you two apart, brushing away the locks that sticks to your face to get a better look at you. âWere you hurt?â But you shook your head.
Grnnk!
Grnnnk!
Ah, because of the moment of stillness, he seemed to have forgotten that there was a company with the two of you. âI'll protect you from now on, okay?â He breathes, your face cupped in his hands, nose red and eyes puffy from crying. Oh for crying out loud, you're so fucking adorable that he swore he'll go balistic if something ever happens to you.
âStop that.â
âWhat?â You voice came out as a whisper, lips parting and your brows knit. That melodic sound that drags him like a helpless sailor to a siren.
He won't mind being helpless, as long as it is you whom he has.
âBeing so fucking irresistible.â A smirk was displayed on his face before pressing his lips against yours. Just because this place is an apocalypse doesn't mean that Gwi-nam won't take any opportunity to flirt with you.
Who dares fucking oppose their own God?
He parts, breathless and satisfied, âFrom now on, you stick with me, alright? You don't wanna be a zombie food, yeah?â He grips your jaw, pulling you in once again to lock lips.
âDon't you worry your pretty little head, babe. I'll kill anyone who dares touch you.â Gwi-nam held your hands, pulling you up to stand. Disbelief was written in your face, he can tell, and the only way to dust that off is a proof
And the clatter of the chairs that he pushed made the zombie aware of his and your presence, the scent of human making the undead crazy as it lunches towards you but Gwi-nam grabbed it's neck and cracked it, throwing it at the floor as he threw a smug grin to your direction.
âDon't worry, pretty girl, I'll take care of you.â
He grabs your hips, leaning down to press a gentle kiss on your cheek. âLet's go find something for you to eat along with a new room. Aish, you better be thankful to me. I expect another kiss later as payment, alright?â
Everything about him screams danger but it didn't matter, because you knew, if Gwi-nam would do something bad to you, he would've done so in the past years already.

Woo-jin or Gyeong-su bf headcannons from all of us are dead , pls & thank you :)
Bf headcanons
a/n- tysm for requesting this! I made it super fluffy and cute (and I did both characters! :)), so hope you enjoy! Also, I kinda rambled on with both hcs and got off track sometimes, but I think you get my point tho and I think they're cute :D ALSO, I barely edited this, like at all, so if there are mistakes or something was worded weird or sounds weird pls let me knowâ
premise- bf headcanons about Gyeong-su and Wu-jin
rating- PG-13 (kissing??)
warnings- fluff, talks about kisses, and I dont think there are any?
Gyeong-su

-he acts all dorky ("class clown" energy), which he totally is, but he'd show you a side of him that no one else gets to see
-like as soon as it's you two alone, he'll start acting like the gentlest gentleman ever (with some jokes thrown in there ofc!)
-he'd always be super sweet and flirty
-but, especially before you two had started going out. he'd always have the pick-up lines and cheesy sayings ready before he saw you, ready to try to make you like him, which you already did ofc
-after you finally said yes to his flirtations and pick-up lines, he'd feel like he just won at life, like he accomplished getting the only thing he'd ever wanted: you
-the first few weeks of dating would include so much teasing, blushing, soft pecks, and soft cuddles
-after you got out of the "honeymoon" phase, he'd still be super flirty and dorky, obviously, but he'd start being less shy and nervous and being more vulnerable and intimate with you
-remember when I said that he'd be super gentlemanly as soon as you two were alone? What this means is him not wanting to show too many of his emotions to anyone but you (such as how much he likes you or wants to kiss you)
-did I mention that he'd be super teasing? Yes, yes I did, and I'm going to again, because you know how flirty this man would be, no matter what stage in the relationship
-he'd just randomly come up to you when no one was around and kiss you out of nowhere, making you super flustered, which makes him smirk: "what?" like you know what you just did, sir đ
-obviously we know he'd be super sweet like 24/7, more funny when everyone else was around, but still a sweetheart, nevertheless!
-he'd give the softest cuddles in the world when you're feeling down (or if you're fine, like he'd totally just want to cuddle you all the time-)
-and you and this man would roast eachother, yes you're dating, yes you like eachother, yes you're super sweet to eachother, but you would totally just start joking around and roasting eachother out of nowhere
-like if you're tall and he couldn't reach something and you saw him struggling, you'd grab it for him and sweetly give it to him and then you'd walk away but not before muttering something like "short ass", and if you're short, then vice-versa.
-oh, and the first time he says the magic three words, he'd be super, super nervous. He definitely prepared a whole ass speech or a special dinner or just something for the occasion.
-and all his nerves would go away when you finally said it back :)
-anyway, your relationship would be filled with the sweetest laughter and the sweetest kisses :D
Wu-jin

(Sadly, I could not find a gif for him!^ :()
-yo, this man right here^ yes him, I love him
-i feel like he'd be the first to contract feelings, like, all of the sudden, he'd start being super giggly and shy around you
-and him always being super sweet and nice, like he always is, but this time more, what's the word? flirty?, would make you super flustered and try to figure out if you had a crush on him
-"hey, y/n!" he would say from the doorway of the classroom before walking over to your desk with a smile. You'd turn away from your friend to speak with him. "Yes?" you'd ask him when he didn't say anything. Suddenly a pink tint was seen on his cheeks before he just suddenly blurts out "You look really cute today." This would make you extremely flustered and honestly you would not know how to respond, like he just said that out of nowhere. After seeing your reaction and how speechless you were, he'd become less shy and walk away with a tiny smile, satisfied
-after all of these tiny compliments, quiet jokes no one else could hear, and those sweet smiles saved just for you, you finally came to terms that you had a huge crush on him, I mean who doesn't
-you had been building up the courage for awhile and decided you were going to give him your name tag. You wiped the sweat off of your palms and triple checked that your name tag was still in your pocket
-when you gave it to him, he'd be super shocked. Which led you to believe that he didn't like you back, so you'd try to reach for the name tag out of his hand and you'd start muttering a sorry, trying not to cry. But, then his hand would stop you and he'd be like "Nuh-uh, you already gave this to me, its mine now!"
-he'd finally tell you how he feels and ask you out, which would in turn make you super giggly and happy
-the first few days before your first date were awkward, just seeing eachother at school and not knowing how to really approach eachother
-the first date was awkward, but cute, very cute
-after a few months of being in a relationship, people had started to notice you two hanging around eachother and were kinda confused, when had you two become friends?
-you hadn't planned to keep it a secret, you just didn't see a reason to announce it to the world
-Dae-su finally decided to approach you both and ask if you two were dating, obviously he's curious, but it's also his future brother-in-law we're talking about, so ya know he was extra curious, would you be his future sister-in-law???
-"So, y/n, you like my brother-in-law? I never thought I'd have a sister, too!" he would randomly say to you and Wu-jin while walking home after school one day. Wu-jin would just be done at this point. "Dae-su!" he'd exclaim with red-tinted ears before shooing him away.
-the whole school soon knew after that, because, hey, its Dae-su
-his sister would congratulate him, and then ask to meet you to make sure "you're good enough for him"
-your friends and his friends would be super surprised, but excited
-anyway, feel like I got carried away here, but your relationship would be super, super cute (all of your friend group would be jealous) and he'd be super protective of you cuz he loves you so much :(
my beautiful taglist đ- @sweetrainwrites (rain <3), @freckledwinterfalls (xie <3), @azure-arcanum (teah <3), and @thesunshineshop (network <3) tell me if ya wanna be tagged!

all of us are dead â han gyeong-su âhelplessâ warning : cringe

Gyeong-su munch his chips, putting one after one, the loudness of each bite causes you to cringe at him. Hoping that he'll have some goddamn self awareness that will creep up on him to knock him in the head. Currently, the two of you sat alone in the classroom. Him, quote-being-a-good-friend-that-you-should-be-thankful-for-quote, offers you some company while you study for the upcoming test.
An exasperated sigh left your lips, dragging your hand along your face as you side eyed him, borrowing your phone to play some games and scroll through the media. âCould you tone it down with the crunches? It's getting annoying.â
âHmmmmm.. no.â
The boy popped another chip and bite on it loudly like before, this time, on purpose. Getting on your nerves is one of his favorite hobby after all.
Hehe.
You groaned, pinching the bridge of your nose for the nth time of the moment. âDumbass Gyeong-su.â You swore, rolling your eyes as he nonchalantly likes some videos, chuckling at them with an obnoxious laugh making you smile in amusement.
With a sigh, you returned back to writing down your notes, heart thumping in your chest in content. For now..
Let's just cherish this moment.

âHey.â Gyeong-su craned his neck to look at you. wiping his fingers after licking all the powder off with a satisfied hum. What greets him was your head, plopping on his shoulder. Exhaustion took over your body.
The boy stayed still. Not knowing what to do.
He glanced at you, chest heaving up and down peacefully, asleep like a baby. His eyes travelling to your face where he caught sight of your eye bagsâthe excessive times you stay up late, studying so hard to pass your academic grades.
Gyeong-su admired you.
Not just looking up at you because of your dedication but also because you're just.. just so perfect..
So charming in his eyes that he can't help but unconsciously lift his hand to brush your hair that seemingly obscure his sightâyour beauty.
Thump.
Thump.
He felt his heartbeat quicken. Mentally scolding himself that you might hear the loud drums inside his chest.
Gyeong-su knows; you're way out of his league. You were all that he never is. But that is why his eyes shine for you. He âchokedâ his hand that was planning to cup your cheeks, screaming at it in his head.
What the fuck is wrong with me?!
Thump.
And there it is again.
Gyeong-su covered his face, feeling it flush in a deep red, his leg bouncing up and down. Flustered, is what he feel. Fuck. You're so damn oblivious of his advances that he doesn't know whether or not be grateful. He wants you to notice him at the same time notâthis friendship that he had built with you, he doesn't want to end it if it somehow all goes south.
âWhat do I do ohhh God, what the fuck do I do..?â He murmured into his hands.
Grumbling, Gyeong-su reaches out to slightly poke you.
And it felt wrong, but it felt just right. Is what it feels like if we are together? His mind stilled into euphoria at the thought.
He tries so hard not to scream, his crush, laying on his shoulderâfuck, if he could, he would've ran away and bashed his head into the wall to remind himself that this is reality and not a damn dream.
Feeling you stir, Gyeong-su stiffen in his spot before slowly easing up, adjusting your head so that you won't fall.
Maybe..
It isn't that bad..
Just a few minutes.
A few more.
âHan y/n...â
With eyes wide at what fell out of his mouth, Gyeong-su punched himself, awakening you from your slumber.
âWha?!â
You sat up straight, eyes snapping to Gyeong-su immediately who cradle his head. âGyeong-su?! What happened? Are you okay?!â
âughh Fuck.. do I look like I am?â He grumbles, hand holding his jaw from the impact. âssibal.â
âWhat were you doing, honestly.â
âI had a mental crisis of what I should eat today.â
You scrunched you nose at his response before giggling, âGeez, really..â
Slinging your bag over to your shoulder, standing up to pat the boy, âCome on, let's go.â You usher, hand outstretched for him to grab on to.
âHnnn, hold on, my jaw still hurts.â
âLeave it to hurt more, let's go eat, my treat.â
âOHHH y/n you're so generous today! Have you gone mad- I mean, kind because of too much studying?â
âKeep talking and I'll take it all back.â
âSorry sorry, please no take backs! Oh wonderful y/n!â You drag him, poor boy nearly stumbling face plant to the ground. âWhoa!â
You walk in front of him, the hand that intertwine with his squeezes slightly. It was a good thing that you are leading the way, dragging him, or else Gyeong-su would've seen your face. Flustered and hot.
Han y/n... actually sounds nice.

LOVE LETTER !
â gyeong-su has a huge crush on y/n, he would've confessed by now and asked her out but the problem is she's gwi-nam's little sister

pairing! han gyeong-su x f! reader
warnings! low(high)key ooc gwi-nam (?), accused of p3rverted acts and that's about it ig lmk if i missed smthn
note! falling in love with the school bully's sister trope ;>

Cheong-san gave his best friend a look of disbelief, Gyeong-su have been staring at yoon y/n ever since she arrived at the cafeteria and that was basically all he could do.
"Gyeong-su come on just make your move!" Cheong-san says out of annoyance, Gyeong-su glares at him "tsk..yeah right, like you already made your move" he mutters
Su-hyeok snickers as he munched on the chicken in his plate "sure, you just won't ask her out because she's off limits"
Gyeong-su groans knowing that the tall man was right and as if on cue Gwi-nam was starting to walk towards their table
"hey hey- is he walking this way? did he catch me staring at his sister? uh- i'll get goi-" Gwi-nam was already standing in front of them before Gyeong-su could even finish his sentence, "crap" he whispers underneath his breath
he looks away and whistles nervously "hey. what's your business with my sister huh?!" Gwi-nam asks, voice loud enough for everyone in the cafeteria to hear which caused them to turn their direction to see what's going on
Gyeong-su shakes his head and Gwi-nam rolls his eyes "yeah right you've been staring at her since she got here! you do that in classes too! bet you tried to take a peek on her showering?!" Gwi-nam growls while Gyeong-su immediately shakes his head "WHAT?! NO! I'D NEVER!" he denies and Gwi-nam just sighs
"sure..here" he hands Gyeong-su a letter, looking at their table he saw y/n with her eyes wide and Gwi-nam's friend smirking while wiggling their eyebrows and elbowing y/n "i found that in my sister's bag and being the kind, loving and very considerate brother i am i decided to give it to you as her love life is as dry as the Sahara Desert thank me later by the way" Gwi-nam says smugly and when he turned around he was met with a fist going straight to his nose
"OUCH! THAT FUCKING HURT YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT!" he yells while y/n stuck her tounge out "that's what you get for going through my stuff AGAIN" y/n was about to head back to their table with Gwi-nam until she noticed Gyeong-su, Cheong-san and Su-hyeok reading the love letter she wrote
Su-hyeok was the first to turn to them, a smug smirk on his lips as he wiggled his brows "look at that..Gwi-nam helping his little sis get a boyfriend when in 10th grade he denied all my advances in asking y/n out, life's unfair" he says jokingly and dramatically
"fuck off" Gwi-nam mutters eyes rolling once more, he noticed y/n's face slowly going pale as Gyeong-su looked up at her "you like me?"
y/n facepalmed not answering the man's question and turning around to leave but before she could go any further Gyeong-su takes hold of her wrist "answer me" he says- no demands. looking away y/n nods and just as she was about to walk away Gyeong-su begins to laugh
"YES!" he exclaims and pulled y/n into a kiss, she kissed back but suddenly felt herself being dragged from behind on her uniform's collar
she turns slightly to see her brother, Gwi-nam who had a frown "yeah yeah sweet lovey dovey shit please don't do that in front of me again" he says with a sarcastic smile while y/n hits his arm complaining that he ruined her moment
meanwhile Gyeong-su touched his lips as his other fist formed into a ball, raising it up with a proud smile on his face "SHE'S MINE NOW!" earning claps from the students around them
teasingly he turns to his two best friends who were happy for him "now..it's your guys' turn to ask your crushes out" he says making the two roll their eyes "oh please, it was all thanks to your future brother-in-law that you got the girl"

Su-Hyeok x Fem!Reader | 5.2k words
Warning/Rating: Fainting/Language/T
Premise: Five times you and Su-Hyeok correct people about your relationship status and one time you both just accept it.
Authorâs Note: This is an AU fic set outside of the zombie world where you and Su-Hyeok are childhood friends (also neighbors!) but everyone mistakes you for a couple. I personally love the 5 + 1 prompts, so I wanted to challenge it myself. I donât think Iâll get over AOUAD any time soon, or Su-Hyeok for that matter, so Iâm pouring my love into writing for this franchise. Requests for other Su-Hyeok prompts are also welcomed! âĄ

Ë ŕźâś âď˝ĄË ââˇ1. Ms. Park
âSu-Hyeok, what do you think of Nam-Raâs interpretation?â
Class 2-5 all turn their heads to the back, tryingâbut failingâto suppress their laughter, awaiting what kind of nonsense would spew from Su-Hyeokâs mouth this time around.
âI agree. Sheâs 100% correct.â
Some giggles slip through before Ms. Park silences them by holding her hand up.
âGreat,â Ms. Park says sarcastically, with an air of teasing. âNowâŚjust what do you agree with again?â
Su-Hyeok doesnât even falter, replying with, âIf she could be kind enough to repeat her response so that I can gather my thoughts more coherentlyâŚ.â
The whole class loses it right then and there.
His seat-mate further rubs salt into the wound by whispering between bouts of laughter, âYah, did you even have any thoughts to begin with?â This earns him a glare, but he was too far gone to care.
Su-Hyeok grimaces, seeing the disappointment on Ms. Parkâs face mixed with amusement as she gestures for Nam-Ra to recite her previous statement again. With the amount of times he acts up in the same manner on a regular basis, heâs surprised and grateful that she still allows him to step foot into class for lessons.
Nam-Ra rises once again, her chair creaking slightly, though that doesnât wake you up from your nap next to her. Currently, you were turned away from the window, left elbow flat on the desk surface as a makeshift pillow.
âAll of us have some sort of prejudice. We all have preconceptions about other people.â
âPrecisely,â Ms. Park compliments. âThank you, Nam-Ra, for saying that twice.â With her emphasis on the word, she fixes her stern gaze on Su-Hyeok, but her next words are the exact opposite. âBare-Su, please pay more attention to my lesson during class time and less on staring at your girlfriend, Y/N.â She raises her eyebrows teasingly.
Su-Hyeok is quick to correct her, trying to suppress the heat he feels slowly making its way up to his face. âMs. Park,â he says incredulously. âWeâre not together.â
âEyyy,â Dae-Suâs booming voice reverberates in the classroom. âNow youâre just making up lies.â
You stir at the loud sound, but itâs still not enough to make you open your eyes.
âIâm serious, Dae-Su,â Su-Hyeok splutters.
âYet youâre not denying having stared at Y/N~,â Woo-Jin drawls, giving Dae-Suâs awaiting hand a high-five with a resounding smack.
âDumbass duo!â Su-Hyeok says exasperatedly to deaf ears. âMs. Park, how come Y/N is taking a sound nap in class, but Iâm the one being ganged up on?â
âThis is the first time it has happened, and sheâs still ranked 3rd in the class. Iâll let it slide,â Ms. Park crosses her arms and smiles, entertained by Su-Hyeokâs excuses.
âIsnât this blatant favoritism?â Su-Hyeok mumbles under his breath.
âYou also favor Y/N, so you canât be one to talk,â his seat-mate once again teases.
âYouâre not even on the baseball team so why are you so hell-bent on hitting home runs with your sassy remarks today, huh?â Su-Hyeok slaps him upside the head.
âAlright, alright, settle down class. I think thatâs enough punishment for our Bare-Su today.â
When Ms. Park turns back to the blackboard, she says loud enough for the class to hear, âNo worries. We can just ask Y/N for confirmation when sheâs up.â
By how much the students were cracking up, it suddenly seems like a free period.
âSeonsaengnim!â
At Su-Hyeokâs outburst, you wake up, trying to settle back into reality.
Of course, Ms. Park notices your state of rousing. Sheâs not one to miss any little detail. âAh, good morning to you, Y/N. So glad you can finally join us.â Her words hold no malice at all, but youâre still sheepish.
Shyly scratching you head, you voice out, âI apologize for dozing off. Did I miss anything?â
You finally notice all eyes on you. Well, save for Su-Hyeokâs. âGuysâŚ.? Why are you all looking at me like that?â
âWellâ" Dae-Su begins but is cut off by Ms. Park.
âPlease refrain from sleeping again in my class as itâs a distractionâŚto some more than others.â
Laughter rings loud and clear again as you turn to Nam-Ra for answers.
âBanjang, youâre the smartest one here. Whatâs going on?â
Nam-Ra turns to you with a slight smirk, an expression youâve never seen on her before, despite how much sheâs warmed up to you as her seat-mate and friend, though sheâs hesitant to admit to the latter.
âOh, itâs nothing,â Nam-Ra says dismissively, but lightly. âMs. Park was just teaching Su-Hyeok about preconceptions.â
Ë ŕźâś âď˝ĄË ââˇ2. On-Jo
Linking your arm through Nam-Raâs while balancing your tray with your other hand, you pull her in the direction of where On-Jo and I-Sak were already seated with their own lunches piled high with food.
âSave some for the rest of us, On-Jo,â you joke as you and Nam-Ra sit down on the opposite bench, pointing to your friendâs tray.
âHa ha, very funny,â On-Jo pouts. âI donât eat a lot; I just eat well.â
âA little too well,â Nam-Ra chimes in, causing you to choke on your banana milk in laughter and surprise. Since Nam-Ra started opening up to your friend group, you can already see the influence itâs had on her. Her conversations may still be minimal, but boy do they pack a punch.
While you all wait for the rowdy boys to join, I-Sak mimes pulling you, Nam-Ra, and On-Jo into a huddle and whispers, âSo, have you guys thought about whoâs asking who to the spring formal in a few months?â Here, she raises her eyebrows and adds, âBetter yet, who are you hoping will ask you?â
âAish,â you rebuke. âI thought you were about to spill your biggest secret or something!â
âHey, Iâm just curious! Not all of us are set and ready like you are, Y/N!â I-Sak winks at you as youâre in the middle of chewing.
You finish your bite before replying, âHuh?â
âWell, you and Su-Hyeok are already dating, so isnât it obvious youâll be attending together?â On-Jo answers.
Flabbergasted, you retort, âBut weâre not in a relationship. I thought that was whatâs obvious.â Your eyebrows scrunch together in confusion.
âTsk, since when did you become so good at lying, our sweet and innocent Y/N?â I-Sak pokes you with the clean end of her chopstick.
âThereâs nothing going on between us,â you emphasize. âIâve known him since we were babies, and he definitely doesnât like me in that way. I know that for a fact!â You point from Nam-Ra, to On-Jo, and finally to I-Sak. âNot one more word from you guys, alright?â
Nam-Ra slurps a spoonful of her seaweed soup loudly.
You turn to her and narrow your eyes. âNow, whatâs that supposed to mean?â
âWell, you said not one more word,â Nam-Ra says without missing a beat. âThat was a sound.â
You could never win against Nam-Ra verbally. âDonât tell me you agree with On-Jo and I-Sak,â you say while facepalming. âLook guys, heâs really sweet, kind, caring, braveâŚâ Realizing youâre rambling when the girls give you a look, you blush and backpedal, âWhat I mean,â you say as you fix them all with a gaze of finality, âis that itâd be weird. We grew up together, and we fight all the time.â
âI like to call that loverâs quarrel,â On-Jo states.
You roll your eyes and throw a clean crumpled napkin at her, which she manages to dodge.
âI also forgot nice smile, athletic, handsomeâ" I-Sak mimics your voice. You know itâs bad how spot-on it is when even Nam-Ra laughs.
âYah! Do you want to die?â
On-Jo protects I-Sak from your slaps to her arm.
âJust admit that you likeâ" On-Jo is interrupted by a voice you know all too well.
âLike what?â Su-Hyeok asks, oblivious, as he plops down next to you, nudging your shoulder with his out of habit as the boys fill in the rest of the bench, focused on their own conversations.
âYeah, Y/N, what were you going to say?â I-Sak prods, smiling wider than you thought humanly possible.
You turn to Nam-Ra for help, but sheâs just the same as the other two, fixing you with a mischievous grin.
Su-Hyeok looks at you, waiting for an answer.
âUhâŚI was just saying that I like,â you stall as you look around for a way out. Your gaze lands on a drink everyone has on their tray. âThe banana milk!â You cringe as the words leave your mouth.
âOh, in that case,â Su-Hyeok hands over his bottle to you. âHere, you can have mine.â
As he turns to his right to talk to Cheong-San, I-Sak flashes you a heart with her fingers discreetly, Nam-Ra elbows you in the arm playfully, and On-JoâYouâre going to get her big time for this.
Before Su-Hyeok is finished with his conversation and turns back to you, she mouths, âI love oo yoo.â
Ë ŕźâś âď˝ĄË ââˇ3. Cheong-San
You have no idea why your friends decided to play soccer during lunch when it was scorching hot out, especially a day before exams, but followed nonetheless.
On-Jo and I-Sak opted out and were currently benched, acting as cheerleaders. You, however, got dragged into the game as Nam-Ra was the referee and she didnât want to be alone on the field.
The sun was starting to make you sweat, and you chalked it up to the heat beating down on your head for the sudden dizziness you were feeling. You shook your head and tried to focus on the game that was about to start.
Cheong-San was right next to you, and on the far end of the field you could see Su-Hyeok playing goalie. As Dae-Su kicked off signaling the first half, you began to stagger as your vision becomes unfocused. Just when Cheong-San is about to sprint off in the direction of the ball Dae-Su had kicked, you grab onto his arm, stopping him.
âCheong-San, I donât feel too good,â you say.
He steadies you by the shoulder and peers at your face. âY/N, youâre looking a little more than just pale. Do you think youâll be okay? Want to sit down for a minute with On-Jo and I-Sak?â
You close your eyes as your head spins but manage to give a weak nod when he checks your forehead temperature with his hand.
âHey! Whatâs going on over there?â Someone screams across the field, questioning.
As Cheong-San takes your wrist to lead you back to the girls, your vision goes black and the last thing you remember is someone catching you to break your fall.
***
On-Jo and I-Sak were the first ones to reach you as Cheong-San tries to sit you up. He gets you to somewhat lean on his chest, an arm around your shoulder as the girls crowd around to see what they could do to help.
âIs Y/N alright?â Not getting a response, Nam-Ra checks your pulse and breathing. âHer heartbeat is a little slow, but other than that maybe she got heat exhaustion?â
âI think we should take her to the nurse either way,â On-Jo says, I-Sak nodding in agreement.
âOn-Jo, come with me,â Cheong-San directs, as he maneuvers you for a proper piggyback.
âMove,â Su-Hyeok says, seriously.
âItâs okay, I got her,â Cheong-San replies as On-Jo helps to stabilize you on his back.
âI wasnât asking.â Su-Hyeok slightly pushes Cheong-San.
âGuys, this isnât the time to fight,â Nam-Ra admonishes, pointing at your unconscious form.
Without another word, Su-Hyeok picks you up easily and carries you away, with Cheong-San and On-Jo in tow all the way to the infirmary.
Once there, On-Jo decided to go get some snacks since everyone skipped lunch, leaving the two boys behind with you after the nurse assessed your condition.
Cheong-San starts chuckling quietly as Su-Hyeok glares at him.
âWhy are you laughing?â
âI donât find the situation funny, if thatâs what youâre asking. Iâm worried for Y/N as well.â
Su-Hyeok narrows his eyes at Cheong-San. âWhy?â
Dumbfounded, Cheong-San replies, âWhy would you ask that? Sheâs a good friend. We grew up together too you know.â
When Su-Hyeok doesnât respond, Cheong-San nudges him with his foot under the bed to which the former just makes an incoherent noise. âYouâre jealous, arenât you?â
âIâm not jealous at all that you caught Y/N before she fainted.â
âI never mentioned that,â Cheong-San says between laughs, dimple on full display. âWould you rather I had dropped her to the ground? I donât know why you would be mad when I was just lending a hand, and considering that you guys are dating and allâŚâ he trails off.
âWeâre not dating,â Su-Hyeok says flatly.
âStop messing around with me Bare-Su,â Cheong-San teases, tilting his head in the direction of your small hands that Su-Hyeok was currently enveloping in his large ones.
âYou idiot, Iâm not kidding. Weâre just friends; thatâs all.â He doesnât let go of your hands. If anything, he cradles them even tighter.
Cheong-San pauses, thinking whether to believe him or not. âOkay, hypothetically letâs say you guys arenât togetherâ"
ââBecause weâre not,â Su-Hyeok interrupts.
âHypothetically,â Cheong-San stresses. âThen, do you like Y/N?â
âThen, do you like On-Jo?â
âI asked first!â
âIâ"
When you open your eyes, youâre met with a white ceiling and curtains, the sound of the machine displaying your vitals beeping away.
Recognizing that you were in the schoolâs infirmary due to the IV drip and the strong smell of antiseptic, the only thing you remembered was fainting. Everything after is a blur.
You hear hushed whispers and realize it was Su-Hyeok and Cheong-San in the room with you.
âWhat are you two idiots arguing about now?â You rasp.
Their heads whip towards you, shocked and simultaneously relieved.
âHow much of our conversation did you hear?â
âThatâs the first thing you ask me? I donât even get a âhow are youâ?â You fake mock hurt at Su-Hyeokâs question.
âAre you okay?â Cheong-San asks.
âI like Cheong-San better,â you joke and stick your tongue out at Su-Hyeok as Cheong-San does the same.
âWe were worried sick but I guess youâre fine now that youâre back to bullying me,â Su-Hyeok complains. âSo feisty for such a tiny human.â
âEasy for you to carry,â Cheong-San mutters, earning a kick from Su-Hyeok. âOUCH!â He exclaims as he begins to rub his shin from the impact.
You look between the two of them, more confused than ever but decide to let it go. âWhy am I here again? I only know I passed out.â
Su-Hyeok flicks you on the forehead. âThe nurse said you were dehydrated and it seemed like you didnât eat or sleep well enough. Coupled with the heat exhaustion, your already tired body couldnât handle it and you went down.â
âOh.â
âOh? Is that all you can say? You scared me to death. You stayed up late studying again huh?â
âMaybeâŚâ You reply guiltily.
The boys shake their heads at your predictable nature. You always study like crazy but this has never happened before, so you were going to make sure to not accidentally neglect self-care for good grades again.
âHow did I get here from the field?â
âCheong-San caught you andâ"
âAwww, you did?â You sit up and spread your arms for a hug, having to let go of Su-Hyeokâs hands to do so.
Cheong-San was going to return it until he turned to Su-Hyeok for permission.
âWhy do you need to ask whether heâd allow it?â You roll your eyes. âMy arms are getting tired.â
You pull Cheong-San in for a hug and he returns the friendly gesture.
Just then, the door opens and On-Jo comes in with a plastic bag full of goodies. âY/N, youâre awake!â She rushes over to squeeze the life out of you.
âOn-JoâŚcanât breathe,â you say in between pauses.
She lets you go and elbows Cheong-San. When he doesnât get the hint, she takes him by the hand and drags him out, leaving the bag behind on the table for you. Just before the door closes, Cheong-San pops his head in again. âSu-Hyeok carried you in his arms all the way here!â
âAISH!â Su-Hyeok throws his backpack at the door, but the two had already left.
You turn to Su-Hyeok who wonât meet your gaze. Poking his arm, you tease him. âSo, you do care.â
If you had been awake at the time, surely you would be a living tomato with the stares you know for a fact you would be getting from being transported that way across school grounds.
Su-Hyeok just breathes out exasperatedly. âMore than you know.â He said the line so quietly, you wouldâve missed it if you werenât paying attention.
Not knowing what came over you, you lean over and kiss him on the cheek. âThank you,â you say.
Both of you were surprised with matching blushes as proof.
Too embarrassed now for having been so bold, you make the excuse of feeling tired and lay down, turning your head to the other side to hide your smile. Su-Hyeok grabs your hand again even as you close your eyes.
His phone dings with a text and you hear him curse under his breath. âThat littleââ
Which could only mean one thing: Cheong-San.
[ Text: Are you sure youâre not dating? I saw everything through the window ]
Ë ŕźâś âď˝ĄË ââˇ4. Gyeong-Su
Youâre walking along the schoolâs skybridge when you hear someone calling.
âY/N! Wait up!â
You stop and turn around, smiling when you see itâs Gyeong-Su. Heâs such a sweetheart that your friend group always has a soft spot for him.
He pants as he comes to a stop next to you, falling into pace by your side. âGeez, for someone with such short legs, you walk incredibly fast.â
âIs that all you wanted to say to me?â You push him.
Gyeong-Su laughs. âNo, no. Iâm just kidding. I have a favor to ask.â
âGlad to know you start asking for favors by first insulting the person.â
âIâm sorry okay!â He didnât look sorry at all. âI need help with English. If I fail this next exam, Iâd have to retake the class and the teacher and I already donât get along,â he frowns.
âIâm not saying that I decline, but wouldnât Nam-Ra be a better choice?â
âSure, but she hasnât studied abroad. You lived in New York for a year before high school.â
âAlright, but if your English has the accent of a New Yorker, donât say I didnât warn you.â
âBetter an accent than the Konglish Iâm speaking with in class. Everyone always laughs when I have to read something.â
You giggle. âI can meet you in the library after our last class period. Itâs a Friday anyway so we donât have school tomorrow. We can stay a little later than usual. Does that work for you?â
âYes! Thank you so much, Y/N.â Gyeong-Su looked so happy it was contagious. His smile suddenly falters as he leans in to tell you, âAlthough, I hope that you wonât let Su-Hyeok know.â
âWhat? What does he have to do anything?â
Gyeong-Su looks at you like you had two heads growing from your neck, gazing pointedly. âWell, I certainly wouldnât want him to be mad that Iâm spending time with you. Heâd beat me up. Itâs clear which of us would win in a fight, come on now.â
âWhy would he be mad?â You inquire, baffled.
âYou know, for ranking third place in class, youâre not as bright as I thought.â
âWatch it,â you warn, playfully angry.
âYouâre supposed to be tutoring me for language skills but here I am, having to spell everything out for you.â Gyeong-Su gives you a moment to see if you would figure it out but when he sees the gears turning in your head, he sighs. âSu-Hyeok might get jealous and I donât want that. You know, protective boyfriend and all. The what-have-youâs from all those dramas.â
âHeâs not my boyfriend,â you say as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, which to you it certainly was.
âWhatever you say. If you see me one day with a black eye and a broken leg, youâre going to be held responsible for my hospital bills.â
You roll your eyes as Gyeong-Su waves and goes on his way, promising to meet up later.
***
A few hours pass and you find a seat in the corner of the library where itâs more silent and thereâs a window nook in between two bookshelves against the wall; it was your favorite study spot aside from your bedroom.
Gyeong-Su is more punctual than you imagined, showing up barely a few minutes after you with all his study materials. His backpack could be used as a weapon with everything he packed inside.
âAre you sure youâre here to study, or are you preparing for war?â You stare in amazement as he pulls endless amounts of materials from his bag.
âI wasnât kidding about not wanting to repeat class.â An English textbook comes slamming onto the table and you shush him hurriedly. Thankfully, the other students are too busy studying with their headphones in to mind the noise.
âWe can work on spelling first,â you direct as you flip through his workbook.
Youâre surprised how fast Gyeong-Su is learning after just a few units, and even more proud at the effort he puts into grasping the subject. Perhaps you could finally understand why teachers always glow when their students succeed.
âWow, would you look at that. Iâm a great tutor,â you boast.
âYour ego is pretty great too.â
You hit him on the head with a pencil but he just laughs it off. Your phone keeps vibrating with messages, so not wanting to it be a distraction, you put it on âdo not disturbâ mode without checking the notifications on screen and proceed to place it upside down on the table.
Both you and Gyeong-Su are too focused on your studies to notice Su-Hyeok coming into the library.
âY/N, did you lose your phone?â
You look up, even more surprised than Gyeong-Su at his presence. âHow did you know we were here?â
âYou didnât tell him? Wow, Iâll remember that the next time I have a secret I need you to keep,â Gyeong-Su says, fascinated.
âI waited an hour for you at the school gates to walk home together but you never showed up so I texted Cheong-San and he said you were tutoring Gyeong-Su in the library.â
âOh my god, I totally forgot.â You put your hand on your head. Su-Hyeok would always walk you home as you two live in the same area, neighbors to be exact. âIâm so sorry you had to wait that long. It totally slipped my mind!â
He didnât look mad, just tired.
âYou can go home without me you know. I wouldnât want you to wait even longer. I still have a few chapters left to help Gyeong-Su with.â
âAre you kidding? Iâm not letting you go by yourself in the dark. A few more hours is nothing.â
Before you can refuse, he dumps his backpack on the floor and scoots the adjacent chair closer to yours, sits down, and leans his head on your shoulder. âWake me up when youâre done.â
Heâs out cold in a few minutes, and you can only blame it on sleep deprivation; the badge every high school student wears proudly.
âNow that the boyfriend is sleeping and wonât fight meââ
âHow many times do I have to tell you, Gyeong-Su? Weâre not dating.â
âSure, because thatâs totally what friends do,â he says sarcastically.
As he goes back to his notes, you look down at Su-Hyeok on your shoulder, moving his hair out of his eyes carefully so as not to wake him. Were his eyelashes always that long? His nose bridge so high? His skin so clear? His lipsâ
âEarth to Y/N,â Gyeong-Su waves his hand in your face. âYou guys sure have a thing for staring at the other when theyâre asleep. You know, itâs the same look on your faces too.â
âWhat? We donât do that.â
âFirst, he gets caught by the whole class and now you get caught by me. Youâre lucky itâs just one person whoâs seeing this.â
You brush aside the first thing Gyeong-Su says, because Su-Hyeok having feelings for you? Impossible.
âI wasnât staring!â That draws the attention of a few students nearby.
âFine, admiring tastefully then.â
You look down at Su-Hyeok again. âYou have to admit, itâs pretty endearing seeing someone sleep.â
Gyeong-Su snorts. âYouâre just saying that because itâs Su-Hyeok. If it was me, you wouldâve already sent me flying clear across the room with a kick.â
Not really being able to argue with that, you ignore it and turn back to give Gyeong-Su another exercise when Su-Hyeok stirs. âNext, can you describe us all with one word and spell it correctly?â
He ponders for a moment before pointing to himself: âAmazing.â A-M-A-Z-I-N-G is the first line on his notebook.
Next, he points to Su-Hyeok: âBarefoot.â
You laugh at the accuracy while Su-Hyeok curses Gyeong-Su. Itâs even funnier seeing him write it down in all seriousness. B-A-R-E-F-O-O-T is the next line.
A pencil aims at your face as Gyeong-Su mocks: âGnome.â
âYouâre getting awfully comfortable with the short jokes there.â G-N-O-M-E goes down in the third line.
âSheâs just petite,â Su-Hyeok tries to defend you, doing a horrible job at it.
âGreat, she thinks youâre loveable and he thinks youâre cute.â
âYou do?!â You and Su-Hyeok say to one another at the same time.
âThe two of you arenât fooling anyone with this âWeâre not togetherâ thing. Hereâs a word to describe both of you. Gyeong-Su scribbles something quickly down on the notepad in perfect English and holds up it up sideways for you as he reads it out loud, gesturing with his pointer finger between you and Su-Hyeok:
ââââââââââââ
áOáááŞE âĄ
ââââââââââââ
Ë ŕźâś âď˝ĄË ââˇ5. Nam-Ra
No one ever comes to class early like she does, and so Nam-Ra is more than surprised to see Su-Hyeok of all people stepping foot into the room, the slide of the wooden door announcing his entrance. He jumps when he sees her already there.
âWhat is it?â Nam-Ra cuts to the chase.
âUhâŚnothing,â Su-Hyeok stammers.
âWhateverâs in your hands doesnât seem like nothing.â
He quickly hides the note behind his back.
Nam-Ra raises an eyebrow at this and taps your still-empty desk. âGo ahead and put it here. Iâll let Y/N know.â
âItâs not for her.â
âSu-Hyeok, youâre talking to me, not Dae-Su. I donât believe that statement in the slightest.â
Su-Hyeok sighs as he walks over to your seat and sits down. âPrez, I need advice.â
âHmm, what did On-Jo call it? Loverâs quarrel, was it? Iâm not that experienced to be a love guru.â
âWeâre notâ"
âCut it out. No matter how many times you guys deny it, it wonât make it true.â
âButâ"
âNope.â Seeing as he wasnât going to say anything else, Nam-Ra smiles to herself. If she can keep this up, maybe theyâll actually stop dancing around one another. âNow, why are you here and not with Y/N like you usually are?â
âSheâs mad at me.â
âI find that hard to believe, but explain.â
âY/N has been avoiding me and I donât know why. We were fine still during the study session with Gyeong-Su, but after that day sheâs been keeping her distance. She flinches when I so much as sit near her, when I talk to her, she canât look me in the eyes, and when we walk home together, sheâs always speeding ahead. I think I mightâve done something wrong, but I also donât think I have? Thatâs why I was planning to put this apology letter on her desk.â
Nam-Ra brushes her hand down her face at the absurdity of the situation. âYou guys are hopeless.â
âExcuse me?â
âAre you telling me or asking me about whether you messed up?â
âUhâŚboth?â
âGosh, youâre clueless.â
âI didnât know advice came with being bashed.â
âJust answer âyesâ or ânoâ to my following questions.â Nam-Ra revives a nod in response.
âLook, you havenât done anything wrong right?â
âNo, I havenât.â
âDoes Y/N turn red when youâre near?â
âYes, now that you mention it.â
âIs she becoming more flustered now when she never was before?â
âAlso a yes to that question.â Su-Hyeokâs eyes widen and when Nam-Ra finally thinks heâs pieced it together, he hits her with the entire force of collective obliviousness in the world. âOh no! Do you think sheâs come down with something? Is she sick?â
âAigoo!â She smacks him on the head with her workbook.
âHey! What was that for?â
âFocus!â
âI was until you gave me a concussion!â
âThatâs not how that worksâoh never mind! Just, think! I know itâs not something you usually tend to do, but try!â
âAs long as you donât hit me again.â
Nam-Ra ignores his previous words and continues. âSince you said you guys arenât together Iâll believe it.â
âThereâs nothing to believe or not, we really donât have that kind of a relationship.â
âBut do you want to?â
âI donât think she likes me like thatâ"
âYes or no only.â
âFine, yes. I canât believe Iâm telling you before I tell Y/N.â Su-Hyeok slumps in his seat.
âSo, you like her.â Nam-Ra states it as is, no longer questioning.
âI canât say no now after what I said earlier, so yes. I really do.â
âThen just go tell her. Itâs not that hard. Youâre making a simple thing more difficult than quantum mechanics.â
âDoes Y/N even like me back for me to confess?â
âYes.â Now it was Nam-Raâs turn. âYouâre a fool for not noticing it: the avoidance, the distance, the shyness. Any of that ring a bell?â
She can physically see when the realization hits him.
âEveryone can see it except for the two of you. Iâm shocked that it took me to smack some sense into you; literally and metaphorically.â
âI always thought that all friends were like that.â
âIn what world? Friends donât look at each other like that.â
Su-Hyeok springs up from his chair with his note, promising to think it through before confessing, and rushes off to who knows where.
When he leaves, Nam-Ra sits alone pondering whether she should just change her last name to Cupid.
Cheong-San and On-Jo clearly need some arrows as well.
Ë ŕźâś âď˝ĄË â⡠+1
When Cheong-Sanâs mom invites the friend group to their chicken restaurant for a free meal, no one could decline.
You and Su-Hyeok come in a bit later after everyone had already started eating, hand-in-hand.
âThereâs the cute couple!â Cheong-Sanâs mom exclaims, handing over the largest platter of fried chicken youâve seen in your life.
âMrs. Lee, theyâre notââ everyone at the table choruses in unison, except for Nam-Ra.
âWe are!â You say, holding up your clasped hands.
Dae-Su drops his chicken on the floor in shock and everyoneâs mouths hang open comically in silence.
âMwoya? Have you been fooling us all this time?â Your friends talk over one another, but the sentence is somehow coherent.
âJust ourselves,â Su-Hyeok replies, looking down at you fondly, only to see you already gazing up at him.
If We Ever Meet Again
Jang Wujin x reader
(A/N: It's my first ever imagine so pleaseeeee bear with me and sorry for any grammatical errors as well. Also it's kinda angsty)
Also, the reader is a hambie (or a half-bie)
-----------
Your group have been running non-stop from the zombies, you've lost too much from your friends and you can't afford to lose more. As of this moment, you have decided to make a stop and fight the zombies instead.
Mi-jin was ready with her weapon, Ha-ri was also ready with her shovel. The rest immediately grabbed some shovels and hammer nearby. Despite your current condition, your boyfriend, Wujin stood in front of you with his makeshift weapon in a protective stance.
"Wujin, you don't have to worry about me. I can handle myself" you muttered as you place your hand in his forearm.
"I know baby, its just that I still want to protect you the best that I can" he looked at you with sincerity in his eyes. You slightly smiled at his answer but it was soon interrupted when you and Nam-ra heard growls.
"They're coming" Nam-ra uttered as she stood in front with Suhyeok. "I don't hear any thing" Dae su said as he steadies himself due to his earlier injury.
Just then, zombies were running towards you one by one. Compared to their number with your previous encounters - they're fewer in number. But you still don't want to take any chances, despite your group being almost the same number as the zombies. You immediately attacked the zombie that approached On-jo, lifting it easily with your bare hands and slamming it in a nearby wall. Your new found strength comes in handy during these type of situation but you're still getting used to it.
"On-jo, go with Hye-ryeong. I can take it from here" On-jo immediately went to Hye-ryeong helping her hit and smash the zombie. Your eyes can't help but frequently land on your boyfriend who was busy fighting a zombie as well.
Everyone was busy fighting off zombies when a scream was suddenly heard.
"Noona!!!" Wujin screamed as he ran towards his older sister. You knew that he is going to save his sister but you also knew that there's a higher chance that he is going to get bitten. So, you ran as fast as you could, doubling your speed as you kick and grab the zombie away from Ha-ri. Nam-ra helped you as well by snapping its neck.
Ha-ri was definitely shaken, and Mi-jin went to help the older Jang sibling up.
"Noona! are you okay? you scared the living shit out of me" Wujin uttered as he hugged his sister. "I'm okay wujin, thanks to (Y/N). She saved my life". Ha-ri approached you then hugged you as well. You were definitely surprised by the action since you and Ha-ri rarely do hugs, despite the closeness that you two have.
"Baby, are you okay? you didn't hurt yourself did you?" Wujin uttered worriedly as he checked for injuries. "I'm okay baby. You do know that I should be the one who's worried about you? You almost got bitten today" you told him. "I wouldn't be able to handle it if you got bitten too." you added.
"Don't worry about me baby." he muttered as he held both of your cheeks. "I still want to be able to recognize you. And...I know that this is so soon but I want my future to be with you". He smiled then kissed your forehead. You were definitely getting teary-eyed from his confession since you also see a future with him.
You and Wujin started off as friends. Both too scared to confess to each other until your friends took it upon themselves to make you confess to one another (definitely another story to tell). Either way, you were both thankful for them since being in a relationship with him brought a new color to your life.
"I love you, Wujin" you spoke. "I love you too (Y/N)" Wujin answered as he leaned in to kiss your lips. You returned the kiss while wrapping your arms around his neck. The kiss was cut short when you suddenly heard a voice.
"(Y/N)"
"(Y/N)"
"Eat him, eat all of your friends."
You frantically looked around upon hearing that voice. But as you look around, your eyes became hazy and the idea of eating your friends came in to mind.
"what's wrong?" Wujin asked
"Nothing, it's n-nothing"
"Are you sure?" He asked once again with concern in his voice.
"Yeah I'm sure" you answered as you held his hand. The thought quickly leaving your mind.
"Hey lovebirds! let's leave before any zombies attack us once again" Mi-jin called.
You, Wujin and the rest once again ran in the hopes of escaping the city. Just then, the voice have spoken once again in your head.
"Eat (Y/N). You haven't eaten for days."
"Eat them, eat your friends"
Wujin was running ahead of you and you can't help but look at his neck. Fighting every fiber of your body not to bite him. The urge was getting stronger, and you almost reached out and grab his arm to bite it. You couldn't control it any longer, so you came to a halt and bit the palm of your hand instead.
Your eyes began to water, and reality also struck you that you need to stay away from your friends, and from your boyfriend. Despite their trust in you. You, on the other hand, don't fully trust yourself. You knew that despite having control, there will always come a time that you'll hurt your friends and thinking about it alone made you feel guilt and the tears streaming down your face flowed even more.
You can't handle the thought of hurting them, so you ran to the opposite direction.
-
Meanwhile, Suhyeok and On-jo was also busy looking for Nam-ra. The group came to a stop once once Suhyeok and On-jo went looking for her. Wujin suddenly realized that you were also no longer with them as well. He ran immediately towards the path Suhyeok and On-jo took.
"Heyyyy where do you think you're going?" Mi-jin shouted
"Brother-in-law!! wait for me!!" Dae-su screamed as he ran following the younger Jang
Mi-jin was about to follow as well but was stopped by Ha-ri. "We should wait for them here"
"But-"
Mi-jin immediately shut her mouth, not having enough energy to argue with Ha-ri.
-
"(Y/N)!!!"
"(Y/N)!!"
Wujin called looking for every corner of the alley for you. He doesn't even know why you separated from the group. And he was extremely worried if anything bad happened to you (although he knew you can handle the zombies).
He was panting from all the running that he did. He was about to run to the left corner of the street he was on when he saw your form crouched down to a lifeless body while eating its guts out.
"(Y/N)" he called approaching you.
You heard his voice. The voice that became your favorite over the past few years. You thought it was an illusion, maybe another trick that your mind came up with. But you stopped eating the guts of the lifeless body in front of you to look at where Wujin stood.
Both of you stared at each other. You felt guilt and shame for fulfilling your hunger - and the fact that your boyfriend even saw it, didn't make it feel any better.
"Why did you run a-"
"You should go back, Wujin" you answered before he even finishes his sentence.
"No, I'm not leaving without you." Wujin held both of your shoulders. "Please baby, come with me"
"Wujin, go. leave without me" your voice was trembling, tears were already forming from your eyes. "It is much safer for you guys, if I stay here"
"No, don't say that. What about you?? You're not safe here as well"
"I am Wujin. Because I am fucking one of them!" you whisper-shouted, voice trembling as you let your tears flow freely. Wujin's eyes began to water as well - hurt was evident in his eyes. It pains you to do this to him, to hurt his feelings by deciding to stay. But you know deep down that it's for the best.
"Wujin, listen to me. I felt something a while back. The urge to eat you, our friends and the voice in my head keeps on pushing me to do it. I'm afraid that someday...I might not be able to control it." you whispered looking at his eyes. "And Wujin, my decision to stay here doesn't mean that I don't love you anymore."
Wujin was already crying at this point. He doesn't want you to leave ever by his side. He wanted to be able to hold you, talk to you, kiss you everyday. Show you how much he loves you. He planned on so many things before this shit show ever happened. He planned on taking you to the movies to see the new Spider-man movie since it was your favorite and he even marked his calendar for the opening of the new cafe near his home since he knew how much you love coffee. But most of all, he already planned spending the rest of his life with you.
"Wujin, I love you so much. I'll always think about you even if we're miles away" you caressed his cheeks both of you in a crying mess.
"I love you too (Y/N), so much. Please don't ever forget about me" his voice barely a whisper with his last sentence.
"How could I ever forget you? We're soulmates, remember" you smiled. Wujin did not waste anymore time, he immediately cupped your cheeks and captured your lips in a passionate kiss. Your hand immediately tangled his hair as your lips moved in sync. The kiss lasted for a minute and Wujin gave you soft pecks. He finally rested his forehead into yours, savoring the last moment that you both have before going on to your separate paths.
"Brother-in-law!!!" Both of you heard Dae-su's voice and you knew that it was time for him to leave.
"Wujin, Go! before any more zombies could see you"
He kissed your lips one last time before hugging you.
"This is not the last time, right? we'll see each other again" His voice hopeful. "We'll see each other again, my love" you smiled at him reassuringly.
Wujin took one last look at you before running to the direction of Dae-su's voice.
Four months later...
The group successfully made it to the quarantine facility. They were questioned a lot of times first before they were able to settle in. It takes a lot of getting used to inside the camp, but they were glad to be able to have each other.
Wujin stares at the picture in his hand, it's a picture of the two of you on your anniversary date that you printed out on photo paper. You always wanted to keep memories of the important events in your life that's why you always print them out and paste them in your scrapbook. Wujin thought that it was oldschool at first, but he grew to appreciate it, especially now that he lost his phone at school where most of your photos were stored.
"Hey Wujin, are you alright?" Suhyeok pat his shoulder as he sat beside him. Suhyeok understood Wujin's longingness for his girlfriend. Nam-ra did not return to their group as well, after the incident that she had with On-jo. Just like (Y/N), she also felt guilt from what she did, so she immediately left without saying goodbye.
"I miss her" he spoke as he continue to look at the photo. "I know, I miss Nam-ra too" Suhyeok spoke.
"Do you think they found each other?" wujin asked, the boy beside him was about to answer but was soon cut off when On-jo asked them if they wanted to come with her at night.
"Where?" Wujin asked. "At our school. Last night, while I was strolling through pathway, I saw that there's a bonfire at our school's rooftop"
"Could it be?"
"There's still people going to our school?"
The two boys spoke at the same time. On-jo shrugged "We'll find out once we get there tonight. So, are you two going?"
"Yeah" they both answered. "So that's why you're nowhere to be found last night" Suhyeok smiled as he spoke to the girl who once felt awkward talking to him due to her having such a huge crush on the guy.
"Just don't let the others know about this" she spoke before leaving the two alone.
Night time came, as On-jo approached the meeting place. "I told you not to tell anyone" as she approached Suhyeok "I told Dae-su not to tell anyone about it"
"I told Hari noona about it, she deserves to know - turns out brother-in-law already told her" Dae-su sighed in defeat. "What about her?" On-jo pointed at Mi-jin who was smoking on the corner.
"She threatened me if I didn't tell her" The older jang shrugged
The group went on their journey to their abandoned campus. Upon their arrival at the rooftop, a bonfire was already made at the center.
"Someone's already here" On-jo spoke
"Could there be someone who came here as well? Like one of our classmates?" Dae-su asked
"Who knows? They possibly feel the same way as us" Hye-ryeong answered
"I think Nam-ra made the fire" On-jo spoke as she was searchig for the said girl around the roof top
"Are you sure?" Suhyeok was hopeful in every way that he could see the class president once again
"I'm sure. Remember when we we're gathered here with the bonfire? She told us that she would love to do it again"
The group was busy searching for Nam-ra or whoever it was that made the bonfire. On the other hand, Wujin was hoping that Nam-ra was with his girlfriend. But there's also that feeling that was lingering inside him for four months - fear. The fear of losing his (Y/N) for good. He quickly dismissed his thoughts and went with his friends.
"You made it" the familiar voice made everyone turn their heads to the person who spoke it
"Nam-ra" On-jo smiled at her
"You guys really took so long huh?" Another voice spoke that made Wujin's entire body froze.
There you stood infront of him, still wearing the school uniform just like Nam-ra but sporting a blue hoodie that was a bit big for your size. Wujin wanted to cry, maybe this was all just another dream - that you were just a product of his imagination. He misses you so much that maybe he is hallucinating? But your sudden touch made him come back to his senses. You were real - not just a dream or an imagination.
Wujin wasted no time, so he kissed you. It was like the first kiss you two shared all over again. The kiss was passionate and your lips slowly move in sync with his. After the kiss, Wujin gave your lips a small peck, then your nose, then lastly your forehead.
Your foreheads rested on each other and a smile was plastered on both of your lips. You can't help but get teary-eyed as well, you missed him so much. The past few months were the roughest months you've experienced. Along with getting used to your new found abilities, you're still learning how to control yourself - and accept the fact that you're no longer a normal human. Despite being with Nam-ra and the rest that were also hambies, you can't help but feel lonely at the absence of your friends and boyfriend.
"Aishhh, brother-in-law stop having her all to yourself...we're still here you know? Dae-su interrupted your moment to which you just giggled while Wujin was scowling at him for ruining the moment
"I missed you guys too" you spoke as you approach them. The smile never leaving your face. You were all busy catching up with each other when Nam-ra suddenly spoke
"We have to go" she looked at you sadly, knowing all too well that it would affect you once again.
You look at Wujin who was already looking at you with tears in his eyes. Another Goodbye that both of you must endure.
"I-I have to go" you spoke in a shaky voice
"Can you just stay with us? Both of you?" On-jo asks while holding Nam-ra's hand. Nam-ra shook her head "We can't, they're waiting for us down there. And besides, we're friends even if we're far apart right?"
On-jo nodded and the rest answered in unison.
"Baby, please...stay with us" Wujin pleads, tears already streaming down his face
"We need to leave, my love" you wiped his tears. Your own tears were streaming down your face. "I would love to stay but I still can't" you caress his cheeks "I don't fully trust myself to be with you guys just y-yet" you leaned in to kiss his cheeks
"When can I see you again?" Wujin asked, you knew that it was uncertain, they might be leaving the quarantine camp soon and you don't have any mobile device to communicate with
"I don't know when, where, or how are we gonna find each other again. Especially when you're about to leave the quarantine camp soon" he cupped both of your cheeks while his thumb wipe your tears "Which is why I'm not also opposed to the idea of you find-"
"No" He stated firmly. "I'll wait for you even if it takes a long time because (Y/N) believe it or not, you're it for me"
Now you're a crying mess. This was one of the things that you once feared, before any of this shit show ever happened - you fear that Wujin doesn't feel the same when it comes to your future together. But his confession earlier was a proof that it was the complete opposite.
"You're it for me too, Wujin" you both smiled. A bitter-sweet moment it is.
"We should get going" Nam-ra held your arm while the others were all sadly waving.
"Bye guys, let's meet again soon" you spoke as you and Nam-ra prepare to sprint towards the edge of the rooftop. You took one last glance at Wujin before sprinting and then jumping afterwards, both you and Nam-ra were met by your company before disappearing into the night.
2 years after...
Wujin was walking down the busy street of Seoul. He just got out from his afternoon class and is now headed towards his shared apartment with Dae-su. His older sister considered trying out again and fortunately was able to make ot to the finals. Dae-su's crush on her is still there and stronger than ever, but Wujin has this feeling that his sister already fell for his friend, she just doesn't want to admit it.
As for Mi-jin, she was able to get into college, and was able to have a change of heart right after that. She still smokes though. As for him, Dae-su, On-jo, Suhyeok, and Hye-ryeong -all of them are now a freshman in college. The five of them stuck with each other, I guess having shared trauma made them more closer somehow. But they're just glad that they still have each other.
They still can't help but miss their friends, especially those who are still alive which is why they make it a deal to have dinners as a group atleast twice a week.
Wujin is so close to his destination but he suddenly felt his stomach growl. So, he went ot the cafe near their apartment. He ordered the cafe's special pastry and some iced ammericano - as he sat down his seat he took out the photo that was inserted in his phone case. It was the same photo, the anniversary photo that you two took. Oh how he wishes to see you right now, he misses you so damn much and there's not a single day that he missed wishing for you to appear right infront of-
"Hey, is this seat taken?"
"No, you can ha-" his words were cut short when he realized who that voice belongs to
"Hi baby, did you miss me?"
(A/N: This took me 2 days to write but here ya goooo, sorry if it kinda sucks but yeaa hope u guys enjoyed it)
I have this thought of your "don't follow me gyeong-su x reader" fic where while gyeong-su was feasting on the reader, they managed to tied both their hands together with gyeong-su's school tie. 2 endings (?ig)
Reader turned into a zombie so now reader and gyeong-su are just walking on the school field close to each other since their hands are tied.
Or
Reader fainted while gyeong-su was feasting on them and they woke up as a half-bie (and was probably dragged on the ground by gyeong-su while they were asleep and ended up somewhere else). Reader notices gyeong-su with them and just cried since he's gone while they're still there. So reader strolls around and in the school, dragging gyeong-su with them with a blank stare. Whenever gyeong-su tries to run towards somewhere else, (probs because of a loud noise or sumn) reader just pulls him back saying something like "no gyeong-su, stay, don't leave me, don't go :((" eventho he wouldn't understand or listen. Basically reader not being able to separate themselves from gyeong-su since they love him sm </3
Idk if this is considered a request or not. I only told you cuz I got the idea from ur fic wakajslshdgsvs so ykk
â keep following me
gyeong-su x gn!reader | 1.1k words â pt. 1
genre: established relationship, horror, angst
warnings: swearing, blood, suicidal ideation, death, gyeongsu is literally a zombie so⌠Yeah. aouad stuff basically⌠this isnât rly well written sorry writerâs block is kinda hitting i think
synopsis: you wished youâd never survived it.
authorâs note: when i saw this in my asks i squealed and almost teared up because the idea was so good. thank you for technically requesting and i hope you like it!!!

Sigh.
Maybe you shouldâve started counting the days since you left the AV room with Gyeongsu. Maybe you shouldâve done that, but by the time youâd come to after getting bitten, you were too confused by the entire situation you were in to really think about counting days.
So it had been days. You knew that, at least, from the setting and rising of the sun in the sky. You were walking slowly through the outside of the school, the zombies all around you ignoring your existence entirely. You wished the one trailing behind you had gotten the chance to survive like you did.
Strangely enough, Gyeongsuâs bite did not affect you the way it shouldâve. You were still human, as far as you could tell. Youâd checked Gyeongsuâs pulse and heartbeat, which were completely gone, while yours was still very much there. You were alive, you were a human, and yet a zombie had bitten your shoulder. You could see the mark. The blood. Yet you barely felt anything like the zombies seemed to.
There were a few times you felt like your vision was blurred and reddish, and youâd stop in your tracks with the deep desire to bite into someoneâs flesh. That happened. But that was all there was. Sure, that was more than enoughâ And you shouldnât be complaining about your situation. After all, youâd survived, and now zombies didnât even pay attention to you. That was like a golden card of sorts in the world you lived in.
But still.
âGyeongsu, stop it.â you mumbled tiredly, tugging your arm forward. He groaned incoherently and you sighed, only continuing to walk. During the commotion of him biting you, youâd wrapped your uniformâs tie around both your wrists. Before youâd fully turned, you had enough time and will to do that. Youâd thought that at least, whatever happened after that, you two would still be together.
Now you were dragging him around campus, trying to keep him from attacking everything he heard that was a bit too loud. You were exhausted. You wanted to die. When you awoke in that random place in the schoolâs courtyard after being dragged away by Gyeongsu, you thought you were dead. But then you realized that wasnât the case. But that it was for Gyeongsu. You couldnât help the tears that flowed out at the realization, nor could you help the broken laugh that slipped past your lips at the irony of it all. Youâd left thinking you would die together, and for some reason, youâd fucking survived. You were tired.
You didnât even know what to do.
There was a loud, screaming noise in an upstairs corridor, and you heard it through the opened windows. It sounded too much like Cheongsan. Your eyes widened in fear of what situation he might be in but before you could even think about it, Gyeongsu started running towards the noise. You yelled.
âGyeongsu, wait! No! Fuck, stop running you idiot!â you yelled, pulling him back with all of your strength. He finally stopped and for a moment, he looked at you. Not through you, not at something behind you, but at you. It was for a second, probably, but it looked just like the look heâd given you when you stood in front of that door when he wanted to leave. Your shoulders deflated and you sighed out what couldâve been a sob. âGyeongsu.â
âStop running around, you idiot!â you laughed. Gyeongsu stopped and looked at you with a grin.
âYou should start running around. Weâre playing laser-tag, come on!â he exclaimed, before running away again.
But it was just for a moment. He was still a zombie. You still didnât have anything to do. You were still not human, and still not a zombie. You were stuck with Gyeongsu, and still had no intention to leave him. You couldâve, after all, couldâve went back to the group to at least tell them. But you didnât wanna leave Gyeongsu at all.
But everything was too much. So you screamed. To the top of your lungs, you screamed like you needed to to live. Because you needed to to let out the overload of emotions youâd been feeling. âFuck!â you finally cried out, âFuck! Fuck off!â
â[name]!â
You looked up, squinting. Then your eyes widened. âCheongsan?â
âAre you okay?!â he yelled, âIâm in the music room, can you come?â and then he seemed to take notice of your wrist, tied to Gyeongsuâs. â[name].â
âI canât.â
â[name], listen. Youâre not a zombie, look at yourself. Come with me, weâll manage something.â he said, and in the way he spoke you could hear how upset he was at the idea of letting go of Gyeongsu. âCome on.â
You looked down and at the tie that kept yours and Gyeongsuâs wrists tied together. You exhaled. Your skin was starting to hurt from how many times the boy had tried to run, pulling you along by the arm. And without really thinking, you untied it in a swift motion, but not without grabbing Gyeongsuâs wrist before he could run off again.
âPlease.â Cheongsan insisted.
You rubbed your thumb over his wrist and then sighed. You tugged on his arm. âCome on, Gyeongsu⌠Say goodbye to Cheongsan.â
âŚ
âSay goodbye to me, at least.â
âŚ
âPlease.â
Of course he wouldnât answer.
âThen.â
And then you chuckled, shaking your head. You took a deep breath and looked at him. âGoodbye, Gyeongsu. Iâm sorry.â
You slowly let go.
âI love you.â
And somehow, you left. Maybe Cheongsan caught you at the right time. Maybe he found you right when you were thinking about what to do and extended a hand towards you, giving you an option to come back to your friends. Maybe if it had been any other day, you wouldâve ignored Cheongsan and left with Gyeongsu. But he caught you at the right time.
When you arrived in the music room, Cheongsan closed the door shut and barricaded it, before engulfing you into one of the tightest hugs heâd ever given you. âWhy did you leave, the other day? We were fucking terrified.â
âIâm sorry.â
He sniffled and pulled away, lightly slapping your arm. âI know your arenât. Stop lying.â he scoffed, walking away. You laughed and headed to one of the opened window, sitting on its edge. Before Cheongsan could ask what you were doing, you explained everything that happened. Then he explained everything that happened on his end, and why he was alone, currently. You told him if you somehow turned at some point, heâd just have to push you off the edge. He agreed, albeit a bit reluctantly, and stayed close to you.
You didnât know the whole time, the days and nights you spent there, that Gyeongsu was standing still in the courtyard, looking up at the room.
Keep following me, your words echoed. Gyeongsu knew they meant something, from how many times youâd said them. But they werenât enough for him to somehow turn back into a human. They were just enough for him to wait for you down the window, until your group eventually left for another safer place to go to.

Two Years Before The Outbreak. Â
âYou need to find a way to prove it.â Jisoo sighed as she carefully began to patch up the cut over my right eyebrow. I let out a sigh, wincing as she gently wiped the alcohol swap against the cut. I had hoped that with how often I was in this position, I had gotten used to the slight sting. Being my brother's punching bag had left me covered in small cuts and bruises and more often than not, a few broken bones that I was left to treat on my own.Â
âWe have been through this.â I sighed, holding still as she began to apply the bandage to my eye. âUnless we can get his face on video no one is going to believe itâs my brother. How many times have my parents made up some random excuse about how he couldnât possibly have done it because you canât see him?â Jisoo was my only friend, the only person that my brother and parents havenât been able to drive out of my life by employing threats or bribes. Her parents were saints, her dad a high-profile doctor who handled all my injuries and her mother a lawyer who was working endlessly to get me away from my parents. The problem was, that my parents were too careful, too eager to use their government standing to their advantage. So they never got far in the process of getting me out and were too afraid to push too hard in case I was forbidden to see Jisoo.Â
âWe will find a way. Heâs getting too confident, he will have to mess up at some point.â Jisoo sighed, her concern for me breaking my heart. Even after three years of having her by my side, I wasnât used to having someone who not only cared but truly loved me. Years of abuse from my brother and my parents telling me if I was a better sister, their precious son wouldnât have to hurt me, had taught me I wasnât one to be loved.Â
âI am sure you are right. Myeonghwan isnât all that smart.â I winced, waiting for the hit even if I knew it wasnât coming. She pats my cheek with a loving smile.Â
âIf he doesnât I will find a way to make it happen.â She spoke with so much confidence, so sure that she would help, that I couldnât help but smile at her. I started to say something when the door to the classroom we were sitting in opened and my brother glared at me.Â
âCome with me.â He demanded, ignoring the way Jisoo tried to valiantly to protect me. Squeezing her hand, I reminded her it would be worse for me if I didnât go before moving to my brother. He grinned, gripping me by the hair and pulled me from the room. Â
  GwinamÂ
Giwnam didnât like people, he could tolerate people at best. That is until she came into his world. The first time they had met, he had been injured, a nasty cut along his arm from a prick that tried to surprise attack him with a knife. He had been sitting on the tennis course, cursing angrily at the prick as he tried to stop the bleeding. She had come up on him without a word, silently taking his hand in hers as she began to clean out the wound. Her voice was soft as she wiped at it with an alcohol swab. She didnât scold him, or yell at him, only told him that if it happened again applying a tight dressing would stop the bleeding. She had left him with clean bandages and gauze, telling her to change them before he went to bed. Â
The second time it had been her that had been hurt. She had been limping down the hallway when an asshole ran into her from behind. Gwinam had barely been quick enough to get his arm around her waist to keep her from falling. After making sure she was alright, he tracked the boy down, beating him before pulling around until he found her again, forcing the boy to beg for her forgiveness on his knees. She had been shocked, her eyes widening in surprise before telling him she would only forgive him if he promised to be careful in the future. With Gwinam promising hell if he didnât, the boy had promised he would between stammers. She had nodded then, thanking Giwnam with a smile that stopped his heart, before turning back to her friend. A clear dismissal for the prick at her feet.Â
Since then he had been uncomfortably aware of her. Doing what he could to help make her life a little easier, while also plotting revenge for whoever was the cause of the near-constant injuries. While he hadnât figured out who had hurt her yet, he was determined to figure that out. Whoever it was, would pay tenfold for every injury that she suffered. He had just settled down for lunch when her friend came running, frantically looking around before finding him. Relief seemingly washed over her.Â
âGwinam!â She screamed, pushing past a few startled students as in her frantic way to greet him. He raised a brow at her, wondering what the hell could be going on, when she slammed her hands on the table, chest rising and falling. âHeâs going to kill her. Heâs going to kill Ryoko!â She whispered.Â
âWho?â The wave of protection-filled anger washing over him took him by surprise but he promised to deal with that later.Â
âHer brother, Myeognhwan. He broke her ribs earlier this morning, if he hits her there again he will kill her. We canât get him to stop, if we donât get his face on video he will get away with it.â She spoke quickly fear causing her voice to shake. âNo one else will do anything.â
âFollow me and keep quiet. Keep that phone in your fucking hand. Where would he take her?âÂ
âBehind the school, tennis court.â She breathed out, hope starting to flash in her eyes. He tossed his drink onto the table and stood up, racing out of the cafeteria with the girl, Jisoo he thought, following on his heels. By the time they reached the door that led to the back of the school, his hands were clenched in panicked-filled fury. What if he was too late, what if she had waited too long? Shaking the useless fears from his head, he slowly opened the door, holding a finger to his lips as he slipped out, phone in hand as he filmed. Jisoo followed the look of pure rage in her eyes, earning some respect from him. She was ready to go swinging for her friend.Â
âFaw stupid cow!â Myeonghwan grunted with each kick to her stomach. His girl didnât a sound, only breathing harshly through her nose with each kick. Her eyes were closed, but tears still fell silently. Oh, the things he was going to do to the boy. Myeonghwan would pay for each tear, for every injury and then some.Â
âSon Myeonghwan.â He called out once he was in a position that would cause both of them to get his face. Grinning wickedly, he zoomed in on his face, catching that stupid prick as he realized what happened. âThis is what is going to happen. You are going to listen to me, if you donât Jisoo posts this all over social media.âÂ
âSend. To. Your. Dad.â Gwinam couldnât help but the pride that washed over him at his girl, beaten and weak, took her power back.Â
âYou fucking PRICK! You will pâŚâ He was cut off as Gwinam snapped, pinning him to the wall by his throat as he punched him hard in the stomach, pulling back to punch him again.Â
âTouch my girl again and see what happens.â He snarled, pulling away as the prick began to show signs of passing out. Without another word, Gwinam turned and carefully scooped up Ryoko, tucking her against his chest as he nodded at Jisoo. âI got you pretty girl.â As he headed to his car, Ryoko smiled faintly, moving her head just enough to kiss his cheek.Â
âIâm safe.â She whispered before passing out, her body relaxing as the pain became too much. Her words though echoed through his head. Never once has he made someone feel safe but he made her a quiet and silent vow. So long as he drew breath, no one would hurt his Queen.

lets say cheong-san doesnât have a crush on on-jo ( SORRY CHEONG-SAN )

on-jo ate her food, until the doorbell rang.
âItâs cheong-san and y/n.â
on-joâs dad looked at the direction towards the door.
âtheyâre always on time.â
âbye, dad.â
on-jo said, standing up and grabbing her bag,
âhey, have another bite, okay?âÂ
on-jo was already walking towards the door.
âyah, kid! are you okay!?â
-
on-jo opened the door and exited, closing the door behind her, seeing y/n munching on a piece of bread and playing on his phone while leaning on the half-concrete wall for safety, cheong-san next to him chewing food in his mouth.Â
y/n looked up from his phone, putting the rest of the bread in his mouth and swallowing it.Â
âiâll be waiting in the elevator.â
him already starting to walk there,Â
âhurry!â
he yelled back.
-
y/n stayed in the elevator, his foot infront of the door waiting and preventing it from moving. cue on-jo running in, pushing y/nâs foot back and pressing the button to close.Â
âlemme guess you lost?â
then cheong-san ran by the closing doors, trying to open them but ultimately failing, making him go down the stairs.
âi donât know what youâre talking about.â
y/n laughed which made on-jo smile.
-
the doors dinged open, on-jo and y/n walked out of the space, talking about their first class and homework, cheong-san stood bent over and breathing heavily. obviously tired from probably running down the stairs.Â
âplay fair.. you punk. god iâm spent.â
slinging his bag off his shoulder, he held it infront of on-jo,Â
âcarry it.â
âbut look at this, i got hurt making breakfast.â
on-jo reasoned, holding up her finger that was in a bandaid. cheong-san did not care, putting his bag strap on her arm.
âletâs go, gopher.â
cheong-san was walking infront of the two others, on-jo tried kicking the back of his knee, but cheong-san managed to dodge. walking backwards and looking towards y/n,
âkeep up, chipmunk!â
âstop calling me that!â
y/n yelled after, pocketing his phone and running after cheong-san who was already running away.
âwait up!â
on-jo yelled, putting cheong-sanâs bag like hers but on her front.
-
the trio ran along the sidewalk of the street, nearing the school that they went to, the bell would ring in 2 minutes and they were so far away from even the crosswalk. cheong-san was speeding past the two since he didnât have to carry his own bag.Â
on-jo kept adjusting cheong-sans back strap on her shoulders, slightly struggling to run, y/n caught sight of it since he was next to her running, he held his hand out,
âgive me your bag.â
âwhat?âÂ
âiâll carry your bag, câmon we have to hurry!â
on-jo hesitated for a second, but still gave her bag to y/n.
ânow- letâs go gopher!â
âshut up!â
on-jo yelled back, as y/n was speeding ahead of her, but she managed to catch up.
-
they had managed to get through the teachers because they were supposingly âlateâ, cheong-san saw that y/n was now holding two bags instead of one and on-jo was only holding his bag.
âwhy are you holding on-joâs bag?â
âbecause we were gonna be late, well mainly on-jo.â
y/n chuckled, looking towards on-jo who was walking beside him, on-jo put on one of those calm-angered faces and kicked y/n in the back of the knee, continuing to walk up the hill with cheong-san as y/n stopped walking and he groaned out in pain. hearing cheong-sanâs laughter fade as they left him.
âiâm holding your bag here on-jo!â
-
eventually, y/n got to his classroom, having both straps on his back from his bag and one strap from on-joâs bag on his right shoulder.Â
âyah, on-jo.â
y/n called out, putting her bag on her lap and walking back towards his friends, still having his bag on his back.Â
âthank you y/n!â
y/n just offered a smile back to her, on-jo looked back to her friend, i-sak, she was already grinning at her.
âwhat?â
âyou like y/n donât you?â
âwhat?! of course i donât.â
âhe was holding your bag,â
âi was holding cheong-sanâs.â
âyeah but cheong-san didnât hold your bag, plus you have that game with him of who holds each otherâs bags, butttt y/n chose to hold your bag.â
i-sak explained thoroughly, after, she was slapping her shoulder.
âaccept it! you do!â
âi donât!â
-
on-jo lied, of course she did. she liked y/n, alot. she just didnât know if he liked her back. she thought about confessing to him after they finished their meal at âcheong-san chickenâ, cheong-san momâs business, she made cheong-san hold her bag since she won the game in the morning that day, he went ahead of the two as y/n walked slightly ahead of on-jo,
ây/n-ah.â
âhm?â
y/n hummed, turning around to face on-jo directly. she stood looking at him nervously for a second.
âi need to ask you something.â
âwhat is it?â
y/n questioned, on-jo took her hair out, styling it by pushing some hair behind her ears.Â
âdoes it look good like this? or like this?â
it felt like slow-motion to y/n, he stared at her as her hair was blown back slightly from the wind and her smile that she held sent shivers down his spine.
âyou couldnât ask i-sak? what, are you gonna confess to someone?â
y/n smirked, bending his head down to on-joâs level. on-joâs face went red,
âshut up! just tell me your answer!â
âwell, i donât know. plus you look beautiful the way you are.â
y/n replied, grabbing her hairtie from her wrist and tying it up from infront of her, it made her go red even more.
âyou shouldnât have to change yourself for someone you like.â
-
that moment had been stuck in her head for awhile, she couldnât tell if she wanted it out or in. she had tried to block it out since yesterday but failed, giving up and just letting it stay.
i mean, he called her beautiful, he should like her, right? no, friends can think of each other as pretty, childhood friends nonetheless.Â
right?
-
y/n laid on his bed, having been in multiple positions but still nothing helping him sleep, he sat up and looked towards his clock that was on his bedside table, it read 1:34 AM, y/nâs hopes of sleeping lessened and eventually he stood up and walked to the kitchen, switching the light on and getting a cup of water.
âi wonder if on-jo is awake.â
y/n walked back to his room, drinking his cup of water then putting it on his bedside table. He grabbed his charging phone, pulling it off the cable and unlocking his phone.Â
typing, âon-jo are you awakeâ
after five minutes of her not responding, he gave up and laid back down, putting his phone back, but before he could, vibrations from his phone going into his hand made him look at his phone again.Â
the notification read, âyeah what do you want D: i was just sleepingâ
y/n smiled, immediately responding, âsorry i woke you up LMAOâ
âits okay i donât rlly mind now what do you wantâ
âwanna go to the rooftop?â
âwhy đ§ââď¸â
âim bored and wanna stargazeâ
âtf its coldâ
âthen get a jacket dumbassâ
âmy warm jackets are in the wash :(â
âyou want my jacket or smthâ
âYES PLSâ
âokay weâll meet at the rooftop đâ
his last message had been left on read, he assumed she was already up and moving, so he moved as well, quickly grabbing two of his jackets, slipping one on and going out the door.
he had gotten there before her since he lives on one of the higher levels of the apartment then her and cheong-san, he sat down on the cold floor, eventually lying back down and looking at the stars. he heard the door opening from the place that lead you to the rooftop, he assumed it was on-jo and he was right, she walked quickly to him, obviously cold and he handed her his jacket, she wore it quickly and visibled relaxed.
âbetter?â
âmuch better.. still a bit cold.â
y/n took note of her stiff shoulders, taking her by surprise by him wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer.
âbetter?âÂ
he asked a second time. she nodded this time, not trusting her mouth to say yes. she snuggled against him, him also doing the same and hugging her close.Â
surprisingly, it was a full moon that night.
lucky for y/n or on-jo?
in their japanese class, they had discovered that saying âthe moon is beautiful, isnât it?â means âi love youâ, a way to confess nicely but also be able to play it off as a joke if youâre rejected, nonetheless, y/n just wanted to try.
âthe moon is beautiful, isnât it?â
there was no correct response to accept the confession, but the words that were known for accepting were,
âi can die happy.â
on-jo said, in a soft voice then burying her face in his chest. y/n chuckled and hugged her even tighter. happiness bubbled inside of on-jo, it also settled in y/n, a newly couple.
