You’re a complete idiot and completely out of touch with the characters’ actual personalities.

No wonder this fandom’s a dumpster fire.

I wasn't trying to make her abusive in general, no. I was trying to write the fight as Mari finally snapping, crumbling under the expectations she had built for herself and the expectations she tried to raise Sunny to, leading to her lashing out when it was most stressful for her on the day of the recital. Getting irritated and being more prone to pointing out errors because the duet wasn't "perfect" enough isn't abusive on its own either. Perfectionism can and will wear a person down when they feel that they can't make things right.

I really appreciate the comment about my intelligence /s, but I'd love to hear what in particular was out of character. I admit that I'm not an expert at characterizing characters, especially since this is essentially my first rodeo when it comes to fanfiction.

I get it if you're unsatisfied with how things were portrayed. I'm open to DMing on how I could make things better, if you're willing to step out of anonymity.
