Bros, how fucking old is near from death note, because I was doing the numbers and he’s like 19 in the anime when he defeated Kira.

Since Near was born on August 24 1991, meaning when L died, the date being November 5 2004, so if you subtract 1991 from 2004 you get 13, which means Near just turned 13 three ish months before.

When light Dies the date is April 28 2010, with the time apart from 2004 and 2010 spanning around 6 ish years, so adding 13 and 6 equals 19, but since April is 8 months before November, meaning Nears birthday hadn’t happened yet, he was 18 when light died, but if you look at him he looks maybe 16 in some manga panels but 12 at oldest in the anime:

But all of this came up when I remembered when the older looking near in one of the branches off series of death note shows him, where he looks like this:

I was looking through my manga that had this photo in it (the death note short series) and we know that A-Kira appeared 9 years after light died making it around 2019 in the manga when A-Kira took place, but it is said that after the first chapter where it takes place that it had been two years from the main event where A-Kira went on a killing spree, and it said in the manga that when ryuku gives the manga back to A-Kira it was may 2019. So if I’m going my math correct, 2019 minus 2 equals 2017, meaning the first chapter took place sometimes in 2017, making near 23/24 depending on the month here:

I’m the may of 2019 near would make near 26 but since his birthday hardent come yet, making him roughly 25 years old in this panel.
