This painting depicts a point in Satomi's life where they were experiencing postpartum depression brought on from not only postpartum hormonal changes, but also sensory discomfort throughout most of their pregnancy, essentially having sensory overloads daily with little time to recover. Postpartum, she fell into old self harming behaviors/stims, such as biting her arms and pulling the hairs out from her brows and face (trich).The imagery of the Pieta comes into play from not only a prolonged suffering experienced by Satomi, but also their reluctance to leave their room and avoid any more stimuli, which to the ones around them, especially their spouse Sasha, it was almost as if they had died. Sasha takes on the role of Mary in this painting for not only being in mourning for his 'deceased' spouse, but also having to take on the maternal role in place of Satomi for their infant daughter Anahita alongside the paternal role. He is cloaked in a chador, symbolic of a maternal mourning.

miscellaneus drawings from the past month, first is the arc where Satomi goes to Hawai'i to have a wedding ceremony DESPITE being already married for a few years just to show up his family members. Second two are emo Mother's Day oc drawings, and last pic is an idea I threw around about Sasha and Sulejman originally being roommates and Sulejman knowing him when he was a fast food manager.
