And Not Have August's Public Reputation Be Seriously At Risk As A Storyline Is To Me Lazy Writing - Tumblr Posts

This plotline is just one more thing that keeps me unsatisfied with s3 and the ending. To say the show went for the easiest route is an understatement.

For one, it makes no sense there is only August left in the line of succession and I will die on that hill.

Second thing: their agreement in s3e1 didn't solve anything. It was just a temporary solution. Or it should've been that, if there was one decent journalist in the world of the series. If not now, it will bite August later, maybe years later, but it will eventually happen. We have more than one living example of how the real-ass scandal can damage one's reputation and life, it's might be even worse for people like August whose whole life was about working for the Crown. And if (or rather when) it happens, Wilhelm and Simon's privacy will be once again violated because everyone will be eager to know what they has to say, especially Wilhelm, especially in the light of his renounce. But August will have his absolute immunity from criminal charges as King, living in well-protected palace, surrounded by guards. Wilhelm and Simon and their relatives will have nothing. Yay...

YR Season 3 speculations: a layperson’s take on the criminal justice side

I’ve been considering making this kind of post for a while, because I’ve seen a lot of hopeful takes on how things are going to play out now that Sara has called the police, and I feel like I could add some perspective for those less familiar with the Swedish justice system. I hesitate to do it because I’m just a layperson and not even from Sweden but the next country over - but our justice systems are reasonably similar, I’ve spent a lot of time poring over relevant sources on Swedish law and justice, and @scatteredpiecesofme encouraged me to do this after our conversation yesterday.

So, here goes, haha.

As usual, I could very well be wrong about some things, and I welcome any additions or corrections!
