Honestly? My main piece of advice for writing well-rounded characters is to make them a little bit lame. No real living person is 100% cool and suave 100% of the time. Everyone's a little awkward sometimes, or gets too excited about something goofy, or has a silly fear, or laughs about stupid things. Being a bit of a loser is an incurable part of the human condition. Utilize that in your writing.

everytime i see some fanfic author and/or artist depicting swindle commiting a social blunder i eat that shit up at neck-breaking speeds
it heals a broken part of my soul
and its just. SO fun and SOOO refreshing to see
like yes i understand 90% of the time swindle is gonna be a charismatic guy
and i would never change that about him
for me i think his charisma is a huge part of the reason why hes as successful as he is
and its interesting to see a character who gained power not necessarily through force
but by charm and wit
BUUUUUT that being said
id still like to see more awkward swindle please
not only because it genuinely humors me
but i think its such a good way to start peeling back his layers
and show that swindle was not always a sleazy bastard
but at some point he was a regular bot. who was capable of making badly-timed jokes and fucking up the vibe
it also provides some strange comfort for me personally
like even swindle and his silver-glossa is able to fumble bags and lose the baddest bitches
it helps me not beat myself up over my social skills
so yeah
