NaNoWriMo Approaches

AKA the most fun you will have while being constantly stressed for 30 days, repeatedly asking yourself, “Why on Earth am I doing this to myself? What have I done? Why did I think this would be fun?” all for bragging rights that you wrote a whole ass book in 30 days.

Pre-mature grey/whitening of the hair can be caused by the following: Genetics, (Chronic) Stress, Health Concerns (Autoimmune diseases or Thyroid problems, etc.), and or even lacking certain vitamins and overall nutrients (B-12, Folate, etc.)

There's also a condition called Marie Antoinette Syndrome, that causes people's hair to suddenly turn white due to stress. However, this is since been disproven and is more so considered fictional.

Keeping these things in mind, well, I introduce to you Burnt Out Sol AU, wherein Akari's hair turns white in her time in Hisui.

By the time she meets Ingo that one morning after quelling the newly dubbed Lord Arcanine's frenzy, her hair is littered with blooming patches of white that contrast significantly with her black field of hair.

Ingo, upon seeing her, notes the exhausted aura she carries. Dark bags under eyes, haunches over back, and bent knees not unlike his own, the small trembles that wrack through her body as if it were weak, the bloodshot eyes-. To say the least, Ingo's highly concerned.

Everyone in Jubilife is- no, everyone that comes across Akari and knew her when she first fell is very concerned for her. What happened to the bright, fiery, and passionate teen? It's like her overall demeanor changed overnight- but no, everyone knows and remembers her gradual descent. Not long before she faced Lord Kleavor...

Even Kamado, in all his paranoid being, is concerned for Akari- only, his empathy is overridden by his weariness. After all, she is an outsider, a being that fell from the sky. A possible cause of all the abnormalities that occurred in Hisui for the past few months...

As a... Cautionary plan to distance people away from her, his attempt to keep his people safe, he spreads rumors of her and how she's slowly morphing into a Zorua.

Many people in Jubilife who hears word of this are outraged! Even they are not as gullible to believe such tales as that! Not with how helpful and kind she proved herself to be. Nothing but a hard worker who proved herself more times than they count... All they can see now is a girl- a child who needs well-deserved rest.

There have been attempts in the past wherein they try to give Akari a break. Captain Cyllene had attempted to give Akari a week off of Survey work after the first few instances she passed out and had to be brought to Pestelle's clinic. Every time, however, she's been overridden by Commander Kamado, sending her off to more missions and continuing to quell the frenzied nobles. It makes Cyllene even more furious at her boss than before. (The man delegates all the paperwork to her so, of course, he's already on thin ice with her-)

Professor Laventon, whenever he journeys with her to the camps in every section of Hisui she has access to so far, has tried to give her simple tasks and research to do. Keep her from overworking herself and relieve any stress that being a survey member may bring. Often, if he isn't there with her, she'd overdo it and go for overachievement. Don't get him wrong, Laventon is delighted by such notes. But not when it's at the cost of Akari's health and safety.

Rei can't do much as he wishes he can for Akari. He has his job too as a Survey member he has to attend. But whenever the two are in Jubilife or simply crossed paths, he does his best to distract her and keep her stress free by doing something fun. Remind her that she's a kid!

Ok, well, the reminding part isn't working... Sometimes Rei questioned if she ever even have a childhood... But, he gets to make her smile often when they hang out by training. Akari does like battling and always seems to bring her spirits up when she helps him connect with his pokemon. She always did enjoy being around pokemon in general. It's better to see her smile than see her just stare at nothing, all tired looking.

But now, here we are, Akari staring into nothing, her mind far away whilst her body stands and rests slowly, whilst Ingo contemplates his next course of actions...

Seeing her face rest similarly like his was rather unsettling. He doesn't like how a kid looks like him, looks so lost and dazed and tired- stressed... Add on to her white hair patches-...

Ingo forgets to tell Akari to report Kamado as he picks her up and brings her back to Coronet Highlands, having instantly mentally adopted her as his own. He takes her to the Sneasel Pit, introduces her to Lady Sneasler, and, after sending a letter to Lady Irida, forced Akari to stay and rest in said pit for a week.

Was Kamado angry at the turn of events? Yes. But he would rather avoid the ire of many people at the moment. He's not that blind. Even he can see it's about time Akari has a break anyways...

Though it could never reverse the damage caused to her body. At the very least, maybe with Warden Ingo's help, Akari will heal emotionally and mentally.
