It’s weird how everyone hating you when you’re nine years old still affects your self esteem when you’re 26 like yeah nobody came to my birthday party but that was like 17 years ago why is it stopping me from going to a gay bar

one time at school when i was 11 i was with my 'friends' and said something to one of them specifically
and she made this exaggerated face like what i was saying was ridiculous. and everyone laughed. so i tried to clarify
and she did it again... and everyone laughed. so i just stopped talking
and i fully believe that is part of why i often don't speak up or express myself. because i assume what i have to say is stupid
and somebody will look at me like that again. and everyone will laugh.
