How often do you write non canon content?

Oh, that’s an interesting question

I’ve been in a bit of a writing slump recently, so not much? With my newest wip, A Quest of Cards and Calamity, I haven’t had long enough to write anything out of the canon universe, but I write plenty of pieces out of the main narrative to get to know the characters better and to practice the narration style I’m going to use.

HOWEVER with A New Infection I wrote a lot of non canon content. I have at least ten aus that I would write in, especially with @pagesofcursive . It was just so much fun to imagine Bella, Zach, and Freddie in different scenarios; my only narratively completed piece with them is set in a superhero au (catch and release) and one of my favourite non canon universes is bitter & sweet where Bella is a barista who is interacting with Dawn, one of @pagesofcursive characters. (Shameless plug it’s found on @eve-and-briar but it’s not done)

Tl;dr for A New Infection I wrote more non canon than canon, but for A Quest of Cards and Calamity I haven’t had the chance to yet. I’m sure that will change.
