tbh I think it’s partly just how yellow is portrayed- Red and blue are both  show-stoppers and bright and flashy, but yellow has always felt like the most familiar, foundational color of the primaries. It’s not the favorite color of a lot of people, but it’s still in little things everywhere I think we just overlook it a lot

It mostly makes me think of sunsets and the warm heat of spring before it gets too hot

I don’t do that much with background/setting drawings, but yellow to me feels like a warm, cozy kitchen and the sunset. Everything in this drawing is a shade of yellow (including the lines), except for the shading and the countertops.
