Asian fandom I love you

It's so interesting to see asian fandom and artist on Twitter and Tumblr just loves ascendant astarion or , Gortash, Cazador or Raphael with 0 drama, openly and I don't see bullying unlike in western fandom where a lot of annoying people acting like armchair psychologist towards strangers over dungeon and dragons. No toxic discourse no drama just have fun 🤧😅🙏 bless 🙏 this is how fandom should be

From what I've experienced, Eastern fandoms have a hell of a lot more chill than the Western ones and I actually feel okay with saying what character I like without being put under a microscope as if it matters to any degree. They helped contribute to my Devil May Care attitude toward people who try to play holier-than-thou as if they're better than certain tropes in fiction but not in reality. They tend to understand the interest in exploring taboo subjects with fantasy perfectly well without resorting to Captain Painfully Obvious.

Western fandoms, as a whole, don't have the best reputation for being "chill" or welcoming considering everything has to be scrubbed squeaky clean or scrutinized when it comes to fantasy instead of being enjoyed for what it is. If you don't do as they tell you and don't like characters stripped of what they were made to be or, GOD FORBID, like morally black/grey characters, then you're an enemy for some imaginary reason. They wouldn't make great psychologists if they couldn't see their own behavior as toxic and harmful or overlook the entire point of fantasy.

I guess that's why some of us who don't want to deal with that unhinged toxic behavior create smaller circles to have fun and avoid that ridiculousness.

And, for those who want to tell me that they don't act that way (because it always happens): You aren't the problem. If you know you don't act a certain way, posts like this aren't talking about you. And Congrats! You're a unicorn within these fandoms and understand what this post is talking about.
