Touken soup (mini fic - fluff)
@mamasaiko hehehe
Touka was enveloped with warmth as she slid into the hot water. With a deep sigh, she leaned back against the bath, her head rested against the rim. This was exactly what she needed.
With one eye opened, she glanced down to her now large, rounded stomach, which stuck out from the water like it’s own little island. Touka smoothed her hand over her stomach and felt the kicks from the baby that told her that they were wide awake. She giggled at the feeling and allowed her imagination roam onto what the child would be like once it’s born. Will they be quiet but intelligent like Ken, or loud and quick tempered like the kirishimas’?
One thing was for sure though. Her child would not be into puns.
Touka closed her eyes once again and hummed to herself in the empty bathroom, her soft voice loud against the unnerving silence that filled the room. Even though the underground was dim and dingy, everything either broken or in terrible shape, when touka shut her eyes, she could almost forget all of this and think back to a time where survival wasn’t as difficult and worrisome. For now, she could only hope for that return of peace and tranquillity where she could spend more time focused on her own family. With kaneki. For now…for now she must be patient. That’s the best and only support she could give at the moment. Patience.
“Touka-chan?” Kaneki called put, his head stuck out from around the corner. He smiled brightly upon seeing his wife and walked over to her, knelt down besides the tub, inches away from touka.
“Hey,” touka turned so that she was facing him directly and noticed how his smile was still there. His eyes roamed her naked body, a blush formed on his cheeks. “Like what you see, kaneki?”
“I- uh-” He scratched the back of his head and averted his gaze, focused back onto touka’s face. “It’s just…You’re so beautiful.”
“Shut up,” out of embarrassment, she splashed some water against his face, giggling at him falling back onto the ground whilst he wiped away the bath water from his eyes. “Oops.”
“That wasn’t very nice, touka-chan.” He chuckled as he got back up onto his feet. She tilted her head to the side with a innocent smile on her small lips. God, how he loved her, but she can be such a tease.
“Well, you might as well join me now.” She suggested with a sly smirk. “There’s always room for one more.”
With a little too much excitement, he stripped away his clothes, touka shifting to one end as kaneki entered the other. He felt all his tensed muscles relax whilst he sunk into the warm water, touka struggling to hold back her laughter when seeing kaneki’s expression.
Once kaneki was comfortable, he pulled touka onto his lap, his hands massaging her aching back and planting soft kisses down her neck to her shoulder where his lips rested on her bite mark.
“We should do this more often.” Kaneki whispered, his arms wrapped around her and his hands rubbing her stomach. “Our baby seems to think so too.” He laughed when he felt the rapid kicks.
“Our baby.” Touka mumbled to herself. Something about that phrase sparked something within her, a warmth in her chest, a nervousness in her stomach, a feeling she wasn’t able to name. She bit her lip and leaned back into kaneki, turning her head to press her lips against his.
“Yes,” Kaneki said between kisses. “Our baby. And we’re going to raise it. Together.”
She watched him as he spoke, reading him, making sure what he said was the truth. He gaze remained unaltered, his words unhesitant and his hand still rested on her swelled stomach. She pressed her lips together and shut her eyes, laying her head down against his chest whilst his fingers brushed through her soft hair. No matter what the future may hold, they have this right now and that’s all touka could ask for.
