i’m the exact same way. i love the feeling of holding a book, or having a pretty bookshelf, but ebooks are just so efficient. being able to adjust the size of the font, not needing to be around a lamp or under the sun, being able to hold an entire book in one hand-- they were made for convenience. i still buy hardcover copies of my absolute favorites, but if i just want to check out something new or read something i’m not sure about, i prefer to buy it on amazon and read it in between doing chores or running errands. not to mention that ebooks are often cheaper than physical copies, too.

I like physical books. I like the idea of pretty bookshelves and book smell and all that. And I do have some bookcases full of books (unorganized and not pretty, so I don’t post photos). But I tend to get more actual reading done when I use my kindle. I don’t know why. Something about it makes me read faster, and because I’m reading faster, I read more books than I would if I were reading physical copies. And being able to carry around a bazillion books at once and also download fanfic from ao3 to my kindle is pretty fucking great, too.
