Could I become a Banshee?

I bought this book while on a family trip to Scotland. My father's family is from Ayr. I am pretty sure this means that I am related to this haunt.

"The house was haunted - agreeably, delightfully haunted by a golden light, a perfumed radiant light..."

Since I am a brunette, and the spectre in the book is described as having "masses of golden hair", my option is Banshee? Right?
