To her
He'd been training away from her for quite sometime. He missed her so much, however when the others heard his mother was a human that'd adopted him there were whispers amongst them.
Humans were fleeting, finicky things. Did she really miss him the same as he did her?
They had a break during the winter months, and he began the trek back home. To her. To his mother...right.
He'd arrived in the dead of night, sneaking into the still under construction temple. Looks like it still wasn't done. He crouched at the side of her pallet, gently tapping her shoulder, "Mama?"

She sat up, still groggy from her slumber, "hm?" And within a second she snapped around him, "Shippo!" Before she could stop herself, the tears streamed down her face.
"Oh mama," he started crying as well, "Don't cry, I'll cry too."

How could he have ever doubted her?
