i think reading this hot take gave me EVERY type of cancer. people like that always THINK they want a spinoff of a show they like where its all sunshine and rainbows and in a universe where "NOTHING BAD EVER HAPPEND EVER" but then when it gets made realise just how BORING that would be. the post gives "i only read homestuck after watching a shit ton of comic dubs" energy.

It's basically gospel canon at this point that Homestuck the thing that Hussie wrote sucks. It is a dumpster in a particle accelerator colliding at impossible speed into itself with sub-atomic precision, exploding and instantly collapsing in a ball of plasma. Meanwhile, he left a bunch of really cool and fun characters and concepts sitting out in the open ripe for the rescue. There is a reason people laser focus on their favorites and try their damnedest to pretend the rest of the story didn't happen. We have collective trauma from this dude repeatedly smashing his toys together until they fall into broken bits. If you have any relation to the cruelty of reality, you feel a deep sympathetic link with whichever character speaks to you loudest, and you say "Screw you Andrew you don't get to hurt them anymore".

i had to go find the damn post i was thinking about and it was a comment some guy added to a diff post about how homestuck fans should read the comic NOT REALIZING THE ORIGINAL POST. WAS MAKING FUN OF THESE KINDS OF FANS. (& the original post was good) but like. THIS IS AN INSANE TAKE. LIKE THIS IS INSANE? I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.
