366 Day Reblog Challenge
Hello, my lovely followers…all 3000 of you! 😉 I hit this milestone a few weeks ago, but I’ve been waiting to announce this challenge until I got everything worked out and ready to go. ☺️
Most of you are aware that I took on the 365 Days of Writing Prompts Challenge for 2019, so I decided to tweak that a bit for 2020. For those of us who’ve been on Tumblr for a while, we can remember the glory days post-Civil War when this site used to be a great place for writers and readers of fanfiction to get together and enjoy amazing stories. But that seems to have changed recently. There’s so much hate being spread and the lack of feedback authors are experiencing is so devastating. Which is why I decided to host The 366 Day Reblog Challenge.
After talking to a few of my writer friends, I think I’ve figured out one potential reason for the change in atmosphere. Writers don’t read and reblog one another’s stories as much as we used to. I get that life is busy and we get caught up in our stories, but we’re the ones who understand the importance of reblogs and feedback more than most. We usually have a larger following, so it means more exposure to our stories when another writer reblogs a fic. So, I’m going to be tagging some of the other writers I follow in the hopes that we can all come together and make Tumblr a wonderful place to post our stories again. That’s not to say that only other writers are welcome to join. It’s my hope to get everyone on Tumblr reading and reblogging!
You don’t have to be following me to participate, but it would be nice if you did! It would also be nice if you would reblog this post so we can get as many people reading and reblogging as possible. I want to make it clear that this is not a ploy to get people to reblog my own stories. We need to be supporting all the writers on Tumblr, so find some new writers and show them some love! Let’s make 2020 the year of Fanfiction! 🎉
