Benedetta was fucking wild. I knew it was gonna be, because it's my man Verhoeven, but goddamn.

He has this perfect mix of tone and provocativeness that makes me constantly wonder "Wait is this campy semi-satire or actually bad and Starship Troopers nostalgia has deluded me", but he *brings it home*.

The only other thing I've watched that can match that vibe is Riverdale, and that never managed a coherent or poignant message.
