Jack stayed silent for a moment in response to his question, and he had to look himself into for such an answer. Why would he just want to abandon everything that has been set up for him since middle school?
Why throw all of that potential for supposed greatness in the world. Then, it came to him like a ton of bricks.

“Everyone else has a semblance, a drop of an idea of what they want to do when they get out of here.” Jack began, leaning a bit against the wall as he collar magically drooped back down.
“But me, I…don’t know what I want. I don’t want to go to college, and once again be above my peers, once again the smart guy you go to when you need homework help, or help cheating. The know it all.” He frowns at the thought of getting out of one place that made him feel confined and go to a new confinement.
“And I certainly don’t want to be tied down to just…ONE thing. One career that I’ll be doing for the rest of my life….it’s…too constricting.” He momentarily clenches his fist and teeth even grit at the thought of it all.
However, all of that ire dispels quickly and his shoulders slackened as he looked towards with Legoshi with a soft smile once more.

“But being a biker, there’s so much…freedom ahead. The open road and the people I’m riding with, is all I have to think about, and…that’s why I want to do this.”
“....”

The more Jack spoke, the longer he listened, the more sense his best friend’s sentiments made.
It wasn’t his place to judge, anyway. Jack had every right to do whatever he wanted. It was his life, ultimately, and the only animal who could decide how Jack lived it was Jack himself.
Legoshi was still concerned, though; the world beyond Cherryton Academy, beyond even the city of Denko was tough, harsh. Unforgiving and uncaring. Indeed, if there was anything that recent experiences had taught him, it was that the real world was harsher even than he’d thought. He didn’t want to see Jack struggle and he certainly didn’t want to see his best friend hurt--or even worse.
But...
But hearing Jack speak about how it felt being him, being one of the smartest students, being tied down to, essentially, what was expected of him... it was a blunt shock. Jack had never said anything, never hinted even any slight displeasure towards plans about his future. Always the listener, never the speaker, him.

“If... that’s what you want to do after high school...” Legoshi replied to Jack’s soft smile with one of his own. “I think you should do it, one hundred percent. Forget college and forget what the teachers a-and things think, Jack! Your happiness is what matters, a-and if you want to get a motorcycle and ride through the country - i-if that’s what’d make you happy, you should do it!”
