maybe spoilers for those who haven't finished BoZ
mostly personal opinions, not a real analysis though
Just finished watching season 2 of Blood of Zeus, and rematched it a few more times for the art and certain characters— ehem Hermes ehem— anyways, I love Blood of Zeus, but I understand some of the viewers' grievances like the main character being a Gary Stu, twisting the original myths like with Hades and Persephone and by extension Demeter and Ares, and how their personalities contradicted with what they showed in the previous season (in cases like Ares.)
Personally I'm more offended about their change with Ares, he seems more hostile now and I get he's with the whole he's the legitimate child and so he should take up the throne stuff but I agree with being apprehensive bout him, ares, the defended of women, who killed someone who raped his daughter in the myths, literally attempted to SA Persephone as something unbelievable and a bit annoying.
Demeter on the other hand, Idk, maybe it's because I read lore of Olympus, or something, but I could get behind with how she's represented in BOZ, to be fair, I may dislike her a bit over her winter tantrum that cost the lives of a lot of mortal, it's a bit surprising that I've seen two adaptation or modern retelling about hades and Persephone displayed Demeter as an overbearing or controlling mother (again, BoZ and Lore of Olympus)
On the bright side, getting to see Hermes more? icing on the cake 🎂, so I'll take it— love that poor baby
Low-key surprised about Seraphim having a love interest, who they just introduced to us this season, I kinda agree with that one Tumblr poster where they pointed out it would have been better if they just used his adoptive mom to fuel him.

I wonder if they're going to permanently kill Heron and have Seraphim be the main character, but the prophecy does state it has to be a demi god or smth iirc, 🤔, it'd be weird if they just make heron survive it and that death shreds his humanity but makes him a full God, I wonder if the writers thought things through

Hermes! Y/n yelled as Hermes once again stopped right in front of them reaching his hand up to ruffle their hair.
"Awwe come on man what is this pick on your younger sibling day?" Y/n asked in a sarcastic tone as Hermes chuckled Hermes ruffles your hair again as he smirk “It’s always pick on your younger sibling day, you should know this now” Hermes replied
"How'd you even find me so quickly? I only left a few hours ago ...." Y/n asked
Hermes shrugs “It’s not hard to find you, just look for the person who’s being a pain in everyone’s ass”
"I mean it's not that hard when he's standing right in front of me." Y/n replied
Hermes laughs as he ruffles your hair again “Damn you’ve gotten snarky”
Honestly sometimes it felt like you're siblings and half siblings were your parents instead of Hera and Zeus
" Ok ok I get it dad." You said teasingly
A/n And that's all I got so far I know so far it's only Hermes but the others will come in at some point I'm just not sure how or when yet
I'm sorry but the way Heron flew off Hermes back will always be funny to me
Hello hope all is well! I was wondering if you could write something for blood of Zeus. I’m not sure if you do platonic for it but if you do and want to, could you right some fluff where reader is like a son/daughter figure to a lot of the gods? Like Hermes, Apollo, Aries, and others as well? Like I think it would be funny if everyone is warned to not to bother Aries but he has a clear soft spot for reader. and maybe could you include a scenario where reader is maybe hit on/flirted with in front of everyone and some of the gods get all protective. If you are able I would love to see how you would write this! If it could be gender neutral that would be grand but if not female pronouns are fine!

Wait here. Hermes said
Wait Her!!!! And he's gone. You muttered to yourself
"Of course he is because why would he even listen to me?" You asked yourself. No you didn't in fact wait there instead you wandered around until you came across a cute little village . However as you were exploring the small little village a particular creepy looking elderly couple kept following you around. Your dumb ass thought hey maybe I can loose them in an alley way. Nope that didn't work at all they followed you.
Although you were already 90% sure that wouldn't work you did it anyway but you still decided screw it. Now you were screwed. The lady opened her mouth you saw something big and metal. You smirked and took a few steps back the old couple looked confused wondering why you stepped back. "We're not going to hurt you." The elderly lady said. "Oh I know you won't." You replied as a spike hammer hit the elderly couple in the back of the heads.
" Come on Y/ n you're smarter then going into an alley way. " Ares said.
" Yeah I know I know I wasn't thinking clearly. " You replied. You swear his eyes softened for a moment.
"Are you alright?" Ares asked
"Awwwe are you worried about me big brother?" You asked in a teasing tone big mistake .
You and Ares had a sparring match and you are now incredibly sore.
When you arrived back to Olympus with Ares you were tackled into a hug by Hermes.
"Where were you?! I told you to stay put but you didn't!" Hermes exclaimed.
You were extremely grounded by litterly everyone in the room.
" Ready for round two Y/n?" Ares asked.
"Fuck yeah!" You replied
"None better disturb our sparring or you might just find yourself on the wrong side of my fist ." Ares said
After the second sparring match you two sat down and told stories well Ares told stories about war and blood shed you fell asleep exhausted from the days events.
Random questions and thoughts about Blood of Zeus that I can't get out of my head
If Hades had met Peresphone while he still had hair would he not have gone bald?
Did Hermes ever like run into Peresphone in the underworld? (Or Hades?)
I keep forgetting Peresphone is Zeus's daughter
Everyone talks about how much Heron and Hera look a like but never how much Dionysus and Heron look alike. I know Dionysus is just a side/background character but dam him and Heron look similar
Heron probably has multiple scars on his stomach because of where he stabbed himself at the end of season 1 and where Hades stabbed him at the end of season 2 which is in like the same spot but created a new scar.
