BPP if you had carte blanche to choose a concept or collab for Jimin, who would you choose?

In a perfect world, if I called the shots and had any influence over Jimin's career, I'd insist he create an entire album collaborating with the troupe.

When I think of theatrical excellence, knife-edge precision in skill, elaborate spectacle... I think of Jimin in his most natural state. And the only group of people capable of creating a vision par to his virtuosic skill, isn't Jungkook, it isn't some other k-pop idol, it's not even a singer. It's the circus.

Jimin is a bit of a freak and he will shine best surrounded by his kind. Anyone who has ever seen a Cirque du Soleil show would know what I mean. The troupe is filled with consummate professionals who put their lives on the line for their craft, they use their bodies to show their skill, and commit everything towards telling the story. That's who Jimin is too.

The troupe has created full concepts with musicians before, such as for their Michael Jackson ONE and The Beatles LOVE productions. So they'd have some prior experience to work well with Jimin. Also, many of the performers in the troupe are classically trained dancers, and so they'd be able to complement Jimin's dance style/movements seamlessly.

Of course Jimin would compose much of the music himself, but the bits with the troupe would have more theatrical elements. For the sake of it, since I'm already being quite ridiculous with this request, for collabs I'd love to have Enya and ASAP Rocky work with Jimin. ONE OK ROCK and Tablo would be nice too. And Yoongi.

Anyway, that's likely never going to happen. But if I could will it into being, I would.

A BTS Chapter 2 (3?) Idea!!

I call the era right after miitary service Chapter 3, but whatever you call it, an idea just popped into my head that excited me for some reason. I'm not sure if this is a great idea, but it came to me as I was listening to Fly To My Room. I would love if BTS did an album where one member wrote, developed, and/or produced a song for another member. Here me out.

Suga has said he feels Jimin raps well, but Jimin doesn't fully agree. What if the members agreed to go with the instincts and suggestions of another member for this project? They trust each other, and they wouldn't have any intention of harming or embarrassing each other, right? They would be suggesting things they feel would make the other member shine or that they feel the other member would perform well, but it may not be something the said member would have thought to do or felt was a choice for himself. BTS always strives to put out quality material, so this would be no different. As with the solo era, the artist and the audience might be pleasantly surprised when accepting ideas outside of established comfort zones.

It reminds me of the time they styled each others' outfits. The whole album could be a mixture of songs like that, and not just solos but even subunits. The 'managing' member would pick the genre or style and even produce, or be involved in the production of, the song. The involved members could even write the song together. I think it would stretch each of them artistically from both directions: the creator and the performer. And it doesn't just mean rappers do vocals, and vocalists do rap. It could be simply a style of music, still within their vocal comfort. Picture Jimin doing a Reggae-styled song or V doing a Latin-themed song or Suga doing some Blues. I'm not good at this, but you get the idea, right?

I'm also not saying the artist would have no veto power. In my scenario, it would be somewhat collaborative but leaning more to the decisions of the managing member. Would it be too much to say the manager would also get to design the stage for said venture? Ok, maybe I'm getting carried away, but I told you it kind of excited me. 🙂

I'm not saying this would be a good first product right after military, but I have written before that I hope in this next chapter they do use the diversity shown and/or discovered during the solo era to do more varied solo work within the BTS song catalog , different genres, more diverse subunits, etc. [See my BTS's Solo Chapter, 4-part series for more.]

Timeline...

I see a lot of people talking about schedules, and release dates and spacing out content, etc. People getting mad about overlapping promotions.

Personally, I am happy that they have so much to give, I will take it as it comes.

But... there's always a but... you know what the most important timeline was/is?

The timeline of nakedness. I am serious.

You KNOW they had to have planned that out. They weren't just going to go full frontal with us first thing, right?

I can imagine how it went down in the brainstorm meeting of them trying to come up with content to fill in the time until they are all discharged...on a whiteboard possibly but perhaps a Powerpoint was also involved because some of us are visual learners... but someone drew a timeline of nakedness, possibly for each member. Charts and graphs and shit.

I can hear it now:

RM: "We have to ease them into it. Who's first?"

Jin:

"Hyung will do it." June 26, 2022:

Yoongi:

"Count me out, I'm gonna go write some songs."

<a few months later>

Hobi:

"No."

Taehyung:

"Ah, slow reveal, like time lapse <giggles>I have 40 magazine shoots scheduled, it'll be fun."

Jimin:

"What are you talking about? I've been naked for 10 years. I don't know why I'm even wearing clothes right now."<proceeds to strip naked during the meeting for no reason>

Jungkook:

"Do we have to? I mean... all those people looking at me. I don't know if I can keep from giggling after every shutter click...but ok.... is this what you mean?"

Namjoon: "Ok! I'm glad we came up with a plan!"

I know you are waiting for Taehyung’s full album to be released before giving your thoughts but I hope you don’t mind if I give my thoughts. I have panic disorder and get horrible panic attacks out of nowhere and one thing that constantly can get me out of them is asmr (I know it’s not for everyone) and Taehyung’s voice has that asmr vibe to it, for me at least. Like I legit started tearing up the first time I heard Love Me Again because his voice/tone is the type that can pull me out of a panic attack and it’s rare for me to find that. I know people were/are expecting something grandiose along the lines of SMF2 or they find his voice languid but I, personally, find it calming and soothing.

I've never heard Tae's voice described as asmr before lol, but it's nice you like his songs and that they have that effect on you.

LMA and Rainy Days just sound like nice lofi tracks to me. I get more of a kick from NewJeans' songs than from anything Tae has put out so far. The songs feel too safe for my tastes, but for you it's calming and soothing so I assume that's what Tae was trying to go for and you're his target audience. It's lovely his songs are very helpful to you. I'm still waiting for the full thing to see if there's something on the album for people like me though. Fingers crossed. :)

💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 It was one of the first things I noticed/appreciated from my first exposure to BTS (walking through the room while my kiddo played endless content on the television - eventually, sitting down and watching together): they deeply respect and love one another. Those are lifetime relationships and I am *giddy* whenever one of the 7 confirms their devotion to the other 6. It's like a vitamin. Thank you Namjoon for being the most recent! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
