Nao for real shouldn’t have gone outside at all today. Now he had to deal with someone who he was sure meant well for him, but had to push away in one way or another. If he didn’t, he’d need to be very careful of what he was saying, both for his and the stranger’s sake. Sure, it’d leave a lot of gamps and unanswered questions for the other, but ignorance is bliss. And in this case it’s a goddamn blessing keeping people away from trouble, from the much darker corners of life. The less the stranger knew, the more Nao was making sure they didn’t end up like him one day, and that something worse won’t happen to himself. Because Nao knew too much than he should have, now he was paying for it.

“I-”, they started off, but scratched that up before lowering their voice so that only the stranger could hear them. “Staying here for so long is not a good idea. Please don’t ask me why. All I can say is that I really shouldn’t stay here for too long.” That might be a good way to signal to the other that there is something going on, but Nao had to bite his tongue about it. Nao wasn’t sure if that’d make the stranger more worried or not, but it still let him know that they couldn’t stay here without too much information being spilled.

seungkwan meant well towards the stranger he really did only wanting to make sure the other male was well enough to be leaving after such a bad fall earlier , but the other seemed to have other plans wanting to leave the church as soon as possible. now he’d normally let the other be on their way thinking that they might have some important business to attend elsewhere , but something inside of him thought that this wasn’t the case for the stranger with them dodge all of his questions and refusing his help. so he pretty much made it his mission to get to the bottom of what exactly was going on with the other male at all cost as he really was worried for the well being of them.

listening carefully to the other’s words which only seemed to worry about them even more and he felt in his heart that he should help the stranger out of whatever danger he thought the other was in currently. grabbing them by the arm before they could take off lowering his voice to match theirs earlier "  fine i won’t ask you why stranger but can i at least ask what demon is keeping you prisoner ??  "

Nao seriously was so about to make a run for it, but the sudden grab on their arm caused them to stop onto their tracks and flinch, their hand instinctively trying to pull away. It wasn’t like they thought the stranger had some ill motives of continuing asking them stuff. It wasn’t like that at all. It was more about them being in the fight-or-flight mindset (where they usually went for flight as they could fight in the situation they were in) for way too long to the point where even the smallest things could get a reaction from them. And that unexpected by Nao from the stranger action did bring a reaction out of them, despite that probably not being the other’s intention.

What an embarrassment. Nao tried to calm themselves, only to freeze at the word ‘demon’. “You don’t want to know. Believe me on that one. If you so want me to stay, I’ll stay for a little bit longer. But please don’t expect me to answer your questions. I’m also asking you to forget that this ever happened once I leave.” Nao finally forced themselves to reply. ‘For your own sake’, they thought to themselves, but didn’t say it out loud. Involving a stranger with their own problems and possibly endangering their life was the last thing Nao wanted. They could come up with an excuse as to why they stayed here longer than they use to and face the sick consequences Kiji set up for them. Nao much rathered that instead of leading an innocent soul into an unescapable rabbit hole.

glancing over the other he could as easily see that something was really bothering them at this very moment would that be seungkwan basically preventing them from leaving the church or could it be something much more sinister he obviously didn’t know at this. but still judging on their reactions to his words and actions they clearly hesitated in providing too much information about what was exactly going on with them as if they did then that would greatly affect him in some shape or form despite the fact that all seungkwan wanted to do in this situation was to help the other out of whatever demon was plaguing them so to speak he just wanted the other to know and that he never meant any ill intentions with his endless barge of questions about everything. 

"  that’s okay i don’t expect you to i just need to know what’s going on so i can help you.  " he said with a small smile nodding his head affirming their words with a nod of their head agreeing at this point that not all of his questions in regards to the stranger would be answered today which was totally fine by him he wanted to make sure the other was truly ok in this situation. loosening his grip on their arm motioning to the other to somewhere where they could sit down he never really wanted to force the other to divulge their problems to him , but given the sense of urgency he felt wash over him he couldn’t help but be a little forceful with the other when in fact he wouldn’t be like this with other people. it never really occurred to him in this situation that upon stopping the stranger in order to help them that he put himself in great danger by doing so that was until he heard those rather ominous words come out of their mouth that this sense of dread washed all over him , but surely whatever was troubling them wasn’t that scary so to speak surely not.

Nao could already imagine what was waiting for them when they come back from the church. It wasn’t screams and the eruption of a volcano full of anger, with lava and hot gas coming for them. No, it wasn’t like that. Whatever waiting for them was cold as ice, the type of cold that could freeze a person and turn them into a statue. Kind of like of like those statues in Jadis’ Courtyard in The Chronicles or Narnia. That was a bit of a strange association since in the series the statues were not humans turned into ice, but into stone. But maybe Nao just wanted to get lost in a world like this; no matter if they became one of those sculptures, Nao much rathered that over the things they’ve been through that rather stay unspoken. They could have given everything and anything to discover a wardrobe that’d lead them into another world.

“How come a person has no self preservation instinct whatsoever. I’m telling you, don’t dig further, forget about me once I’m out of here; your help was just enough now and I’m grateful for it. But more than that will just get you in trouble and you’ll start regretting that you ever met me.” Obviously, scare tactics and warnings didn’t work that much on the stranger. But what could Nao do? Lead him to his doom themselves? They weren’t going to forgive themselves for that. With a small sigh, and their body loosening just a tiny bit after the grip on their arm wasn’t as tight anymore, Nao looked at where the other gestured and nodded before walking to there to sit. And just then, they could feel a bit of awkwardness creeping in. Now that Nao would most likely have to dodge and avoid question harder than they’ve ever played dodgeball, the two mights as well end up staring at each other and do nothing.  

despite all of the red flags going off in his head stating that if he did really help the other out he’d face repercussions worse than anything he could imagine he still wanted to help the stranger out knowing that despite them giving every reason in book that it’d spell huge trouble for him to help him out in this case. letting out a soft sigh upon hearing their words it didn’t even faze him not one bit and despite his small size he could clearly hold his own in any kind of fight if it had come down to it even if the both of them had just met he’d still defend the other from whatever was plaguing them no matter if it was human or some other outworldly being he truly did want to help the other out anyway he can at this point. flashing a soft smile back the other gently rubbing small circles onto their hand  "  i know that you don’t want to endanger me or whatever but i really do want to help you out of this.  " he said reassuring them that no matter what he’d do everything in his power to help them escape from whatever that was currently plaguing them and obviously at this point he had no clue what was up against and that it could easily crush him underfoot without even breaking a sweat.  

despite the preconceived dangers that may await the both of them now that seungkwan had pretty much entangled himself with the stranger he still wanted to at least to try to provide the other some sort of hope for their situation and that maybe just maybe the both of them could find a way out of them and free them from what he could now confirm in his head was some sort of demon that was currently plaguing their life. at this point he didn’t know just how long the both of them had until they’d both be punished at least judging that from the other had been saying to him looking around them thinking that maybe this demon was perhaps nearby waiting for it’s chance to strike the both of them at the same time he thinking of way for the both of them to escape from their currently location and hide at his place up until they could formulate some sort of plan for the long run  "  my place isn’t very far from here so maybe you could hide out there for a few days.  "

Nao seriously didn’t know what to do at this point. They really didn’t want to drag the stranger into this, as they knew it’d just get very ugly for both of them. Nao knew Kiji, the demon had little care towards people, if he had any at all; and he was capable of doing anything. He wouldn’t even bat an eye even if he had to get his hands dirty for it. That’s why Nao was so opposed to the help from the stranger. They really, really didn’t want anyone getting hurt because of them. Wasn’t all that’s happening to him their fault, anyway? After all, if Nao was careful enough, they would never have ended up in such a position. So, in that case, they’d need to find the way out of it themselves (and pray that the way out isn’t ending up either in Heaven or hell). “And what if I told you there might not be a way to help me?” There was one way out for sure… But that was only a last resort. Either way, whether he could help or not, Nao was sure the guy would get in trouble if getting too invested with them. Didn’t he cherish his life? Wouldn’t it be better in this specific case for him to just turn his back and continue his life, pretending this never happened and that he never saw them?

Nao had long given up on the idea of living normally like he used to in the past before meeting Kiji. Especially after one night of a failed attempt to escape and after seeing what he was capable of doing. So they slowly started mentally preparing themselves about living like this for the rest of their life (as if that’s possible. Nao was sure their life wouldn’t last too long living with that monster anyway.) Their dreams for the future were pretty much forgotten, buried under the piles of nightmares that seemed to become more and more every day. But that was life, wasn’t it? You either have the luck to have a happy life or you’re stupid enough to fuck up every aspect of it. Nao stayed quiet for the most part, but their eyes widened at the other;s suggestion. “Are you out of your mind? What if someone sees us and follows us to there? And if they either knock on your door or straight up break inside. We’re done for, then. Again, you don’t have to help me with this. I won’t take it personally; it’s completely normal to want to keep yourself safe.”

seungkwan was never the type to quit to take things laying down not when there was someone that clearly needed his help whatever little help he could give the other at this point that is. but he could sense that they were almost fearful of him helping out of their currently situation like they were clearly dealing with something far more powerful than the both of them none of that matter to him at this point if he were to be honest with himself he didn’t care if he were to get hurt in the process or even lose his life over this because in his heart and mind he just wanted to make sure that everyone around him was okay even if in this case it was for the stranger standing in front of him he’d do anything to help them out especially since for the most part he could feel that something deep inside of the other was pretty much screaming out to help them out. letting out a soft sigh before taking both of their hands into his rubbing small circles into them quickly thinking on his feet of any other way he could help the other out. "  surely there must something we can do at this point ??  "

obviously at this point he was even more determined to help the other out and even if normally he’d be afraid in the face of such danger he had to put those feelings behind him not only for his sake but for the other’s sake as well. letting out another soft sigh closing his eyes in the process in order calm himself down realigning his focus fully aware at this point that the stakes were clearly much more higher than he had originally thought thinking that they were probably dealing with a obsessive ex or something to that effect but with the way that other was talking about the whole thing and the obvious fear in their eyes he was clearly over his head about this whole situation , but obviously he didn’t want to back down still more than willing to help out the other anyway that he could. "  i know that i may sound crazy here , but i don’t care if they know who i am i’m willing to do anything to help you out here.  " he added trying his best not to freak out about the whole thing making sure that this wouldn’t cause anymore fear within the other assuring them that his intention about the whole thing were only good and that he really meant what he said that he’d do anything in his power to help and protect them from whatever was haunting them.
