But She Probably Views It With Monst3r As A Necessary Evil To Stay Alive - Tumblr Posts
Something so incredibly interesting about Kal'tsit is the fact that in canon we see her do all her fighting with Mon3tr. It is strongly implied in quite a few places throughout the story that even without Mon3tr's aid, she's an incredibly capable combatant:

So this raises the question of: if she's such a cracked out fighter, then why isn't she doing any of the fighting herself? Even in situations that are literally life or death for her (like fighting the Emperor's Blade), she refuses to pick up a weapon and defend herself, even though she is almost certainly extremely capable of doing so.
My guess is that this is because fighting reminds her of her past regrets and sins. If we think about the possible times in her life where she fought but then she regretted it, the primary one that comes to mind is (as revealed in chapter 11), that one time about 200 years ago when she led an invasion of Kazdel:

I do not believe that we have ever seen the present Kal'tsit ever wield a weapon herself (in some artworks, and in her in game sprite, we do see her with a gun-like thing, but that seems to be a healing gun) in contrast to when she invaded Kazdel, during which she's very clearly using a sword.
So I think what happened was that after her invasion of Kazdel, she swore to herself that she'd never do something like this again and has stuck by this promise to herself ever since.
One last thought: Does her deciding to kill people with Mon3tr rather than her hands matter at all, morally or otherwise? I personally think (and I think most people would agree with me on this) that there isn't really much of a distinction between the two, but this difference is clearly one that is very meaningful to Kal'tsit. As for why she finds the difference so important? I have no clue, but do find it so incredibly interesting that this matters that much to her.
