Ive seen more “we need to appreciate jay ferin more :( everyone only likes the gay boys :(“ posts than i have posts that actively mischaracterize Jay. Just because a character isnt a fan favorite, doesnt inherently mean the fandom is sexist or that we only care about Chip and Gill, and for the record- boiling chip and gill down to just “the hot yaoi men” in ur jay appreciation posts is just as bad as the “babysitter jay” stuff. Boiling down those two characters to a relationship they dont even canonically have is completely ignoring their canon growth. And I’m THE fnc guy. Like- OBVIOUSLY i love to ship these characters but i understand them on a much deeper level than that.

If you want to talk about how jay is your favorite character, go for it! But dont shit on other people for their favorites. A LOT of people personally related to Gill and Chip, and that isnt to say they dont like jay or dont understand her character.

I get being frustrated that your fave is being misinterpreted, but dont blame the entire rest of the fandom for it dawg, esp when from what ive seen, jay is JUST as popular. Isnt not even that she isnt a fan fav- SHE IS.
