I know in the art community we can't help but make people look hot, but I can appreciate in the Gravity Falls fandom how the majority of artists stay true to the og material.
They aren't afraid to lean into the averageness of the characters, even the ugliness. Because, let's face it, the imperfection of the GF characters is what makes them so interesting. Whenever I see a sexy Grunkle Stan, I always think, 'That's weird,' because, let's face it, he was already sexy (*cough* zombie episode *cough*) Why would you get rid of his imperfections to make him "sexier"? Love to see old people look like old people. To see the twins have acne when artists make them older, or give them the family bold facial features, and to keep Mable's braces. To keep Fiddlefords hillbilly persona.
One of the many charms of GF is how Alex Hirsch and the gang make the characters ACTUAL PEOPLE. None of them are overly hot or perfect-looking (even the hot ones are still normal-looking). It's one of the only pieces of media I've seen where the characters, main and side, are actual people and look like actual people.
