Clark Being So Nervous Around Danny Because At Any Given Moment He Could Absolutely Flatline - Tumblr Posts
( I had to write something based on this. It’s not good nor even edited but I had to. )
One would think that a hero much like Superman wouldn’t need therapy, but that was far from the truth. He needed therapy, more than he wanted to let on. So, one day after work, Clark Joseph Kent made his way to the office of a new therapist in Metropolis. Her name was Dr. Jasmine Fenton. Clark swore that she was the best therapist ever.
They started to meet frequently, about twice a week. Usually Clark would make impromptu sessions because of facing off against Lex Luthor, being jettisoned into space more than once, etc. but she was always there to listen—even though he talked about his problems as Clark, not as Superman. He really didn’t need to have his therapist know the truth about him. Slowly but surely, Kal-El was doing much better than ever before. He had relied on Dr. Fenton for help with his relationship with his son, Conner, and being able to commit to Lois—to which he almost messed up because he told Lois about Dr. Fenton, but he forgot to mention she was his therapist. Lois was not pleased with him for a while.
One day, Clark walked into the office of Dr. Fenton, right around the same time two kids walked in. Being the man he was, Clark gestured them in first and then followed. What took place next was unexpected, to say the least. Dr. Fenton opened up her door to see the two kids.
“Danny! Dani!” She said, making sure to emphasize each ending syllable, before pulling them both into a hug.
Clark assumed that these were her siblings, but if anything, they both looked more like Bruce’s kids. However, something brewed inside him—something bad. He could sense their heartbeats—both of theirs—and did a mental note of how unsteady they were. Most humans, to Clark’s super hearing, had a normal heart rate rhythm. Bum-bum, bum-bum, bum-bum, bum-bum. But these kids had noticeably fast heart rates, almost like Flash-fast. Plus, the older one’s heart rate was showing signs of potential flatlining at any moment.
As Dr. Fenton hugged her siblings, she looked up and saw Clark. She greeted him with her usual warm smile and pulled herself away from her siblings.
“Oh, Clark, you’re here a bit earlier than usual. But, nothing wrong with that! We can do a group session!”
Clark looked to the two kids and back to his therapist, giving her a curt nod. He followed her into her room, with the two kids following him. She moved a couch so Danny and Dani could sit together and Clark could sit in his normal chair. Hey, not every chair was meant for a Kryptonian!
Dr. Fenton began the session, turning to the younger one. “So, Dani, tell us what happened to you today?”
Dani looked shy, nervous even, to the Kryptonian, only beginning to speak a few moments after regaining her composure. However, the thing that scared Clark the most was the fact she hadn’t breathed in the past 30 minutes before she began talking. And both their heart rates were spiking. What is wrong with those kids?
DpxDc prompt:
After trying and failing to come to terms with having a clone on his own, Clark decides to go to therapy. His therapist is one Dr. Jasmine Fenton. The sessions go well until Danny and Dani show up one day. The problem; they don't have steady heartbeats. And Dani forgets to breathe from time to time.
