Coffee + Calligraphy Workshop @ SM Sta. Mesa
September 29, 2016
It was an eventful day at SM Sta. Mesa as we celebrated Coffee Fest with a touch of art. This would be my first solo workshop for basic watercolor calligraphy for free. In this event, we didn’t use watercolor as one medium alone thus played along with coffee as well and that went pretty great.
We waited for people to fill up the vacant seats for the first batch. Moreover, we were going to cater two batches; 3 pm: first batch and 5 pm: 2nd batch. It was great to see that a lot were keen to learn it and we’re able to gather 20 interested artsy souls in no time.
Most of it were students and I met many familiar faces I got to interact through blogs/social media.
Here I am oddly/happily hosting and giving introduction about the agenda of the workshop itself.
Here goes the kiddos.
Invited them up stage showing how to’s/demo. They were all pretty serious about it. Let them be familiarized with the right strokes and how delicate it is to achieve its smooth consistent flow. It takes patience!
After the talk, they got back to their tables and I roamed around to see how they were all doing. I figured millenials are fast-learners and they got it immediately after mastering the strokes.
Like this one here! :)
Several attempts to group selfies as they show their first masterpieces.
Literally got sweet thank you notes after the event. I felt like a legit art teacher!
Cheers to the creative minds. May you always find time to do the things you want to pursue, pair it up with a cup of coffee I’m certain you’ll do better. This is just the beginning!
