Power banks are freaking temperamental little bitches ( There is NO standard for when they should give charge, other than the vague " When a phone is connected" ). How did the environmental sensor not like it?
And did the programmable RGB have a datasheet to explain the logic of how to address LEDs?
And would it be possible to adjust the addressable LEDs by powering them with a PWM signal? ( IE, is it powered by 5V? )
Servo skull integration is underway!
I have run a few tests and the core functionality seems to be working fine - so I can press the button and it'll take a picture with the camera embedded in the left eye socket, briefly illuminating an led that's in the right eye socket and playing a buzzer briefly.
The green led turns on when the program I wrote is running, and if it's connected to a network the orange led will also turn on(so I can tell whether it's accessible to get the pictures off of it)
So it should be all good for MCM London on Saturday at this rate, just need to check that the cranial casing for the left hand side won't affect the picture too much
Had to remove the environment sensor as it didn't like that it was being powered from a power bank - so no temperature alert when it gets too hot for me(It was going to light up the remed if the temperature got above 30°)
Also had to take off the programmable RGB array, as whoever wired that integrated circuit was clearly on a great many things when they designed it - Trying to just access specified lights was madness. The first led was accessed through (0,1) whilst the 2nd was (1,1) and the third (6,0). And having all of them on made it looks like the skull was about to self-destruct with how bright they are

You make drawing bodies look so easy 😭 woa hope this isn't rude to ask, but do you have any tips for drawing bodies/skelebodies? I can never get the snas proportions right, and don't get me started on drawing clothes- LOVE YOUR ART RAAAHHH 👹
Oh no no, you’re all good, goober!!
One of my biggest tips I can give you is to use references, have a picture of a skeleton and your desired pose next to each other and build up from there!! Eventually, drawing the skeleton itself will become almost second nature to you, and all you’ll need to do is reference the pose/s :]] above are some extra tips as well! I like to take aspects of realistic skeleton anatomy and stylised anatomy and kinda marry them together, but that’s just what suits my artstyle, and I’m sure through experimenting and exploration you’ll find your own way of drawing some skelebodies!!

furry haters piss me off like for sure fuck these fun creative and inspired chill people because i think theyre weird. i just saw art of an anthro wolf that is also a fridge and it had fridge magnets on it and its tail was a bag of ice it was fucking awesome
i thought too hard about insect motifs got a little silly and made... a lot lmao these versions of the characters are from @sm-baby's amazing digital carnival au!! full images and rambling about insect choices are gonna get stuck under the cut... it'll be a bit long and i will be putting photos of real bugs down there so be mindful

inspirational species are black swallowtails mostly for the shape, and malay red harlequins mostly for the pattern
carnival pomni's actually the one that kickstarted this whole set... i drew her hat in a way that reminded me of butterflies, went "wait...", then i fully leaned into it :)
jax: "centipede"
there was no specific species for jax. without being able to use color, they were too similar to pick any out... i have included a giant centipede just for reference though since it was mainly larger centipedes i used for inspiration
anddd there's a little bonus sketch for how pre-sentience jax might've looked with a centipede outfit... he gets a bug scarf and some goggles!
ragatha: "ladybug"
inspirational species was the twice-stabbed ladybug chosen because the inverted color scheme looked the best out of all the ones i tried, and also because it's a metal name and we know ragatha's good with a knife... stabby stab... i did add more than two spots to the dress though, it just looks cooler lol
gangle: "spider"
inspiration was the spinybacked orb weaver which i was absolutely ecstatic to find because come on that is the perfect spider for gangle like look at it!! it looks like her mask, it's got red, it's got gold on the limbs, literally twinning
zooble: "mantis"
inspiration was the spiny flower mantis which, like with gangle, i feel is pretty much perfect for zooble... they come in many colors (including pink), have abstract patterns, and it gave me the excuse to cover zooble in spikes :D fun
and no kaufmo because i'm lazy and he's dead (sorry kaufmo fans but am i wrong), and the rest don't have bug names that i know of?
i still want to draw the carnival characters in their regular looks sometime, i just got really really inspired by the idea of secret skins and bug-themed outfits and went a liiittle haywire :P
