A/N : Omg cottagecore au, I love it but imma make this a headcanon. I've never written any cottagecore but I hope you enjoy!

Nancy Wheeler was madly in love with you
She would do anything you wanted to
Which ultimately caused her to move in with you after graduation
You lived in a cottage hidden in the deep woods of Hawkins
While she was first cautious of the idea, she enjoyed the thought of getting away with you and away from the rest of the world
But how could she ever say no to you?
So there you both were
Driving through to the house as she stared in awe of the fauna
"Babe, stop the car right now!"
"What's wrong? Are you ok?"
"I'm fine, but look at the deer! I've never seen so many!"
"There are only 3 and a baby."
"THERE’S A BABY?!"
Ultimately you ended up on the side of the rode eating lunch and naming all of the animals you saw
After a few more minutes of driving the cottage came into view
You both jumped out of the car, forgetting your bags in the vehicle as you ran for the door
The second she stepped inside she felt home
The warmth of the light green walls, the various species of potted plants carefully placed around the room, the inviting scent of the forest
It was perfect
~ le time skip ~
Ever since Nancy moved in things had changed for the better; you redecorated your room, started growing all your food, and she showed you a better remedy for poison oak
You even started getting more into cooking
Your favorite thing to make was jam
One of your fondest memories was of Nancy coming down the stairs in a flowing pastel yellow dress and running up to you as soon as she smelled the raspberries being taken out of the container
"How's it going?"
"It's good, I'm just... jamming."

She would roll her eyes and peck your lips before saying a quiet "I love you"
She loves bringing in wildflowers and putting them in your hair
Whenever she sees that you’re in a bad mood she has you lay down on the couch while she braids your hair and decorates it with small flowers
It always puts a smile on your face and after you are done peppering her face with kisses you both usually go on a walk
Even Mike has come over a few times when he finds out you are baking something
Nancy gets him to leave by her constant PDA with you
I mean he’s an angsty teenage boy in a house full of pastel colors and 2 females
It was bold of him to try and stay anyway
Overall, you both have grown together in your home
She brought a much needed light into your life while you brought her peace
