This is SO INCREDIBLY COOL! As someone who’s been in a pretty damn large earthquake(rrrrright on the Ring of Fire), this is also a really accurate representation of what it’s like to be in one! :]
This video captures a live emergency alert broadcast from August of 2018. For Texas residents of the eastern permian basin, these kinds of alerts and alarms are somewhat common. Though the tremors and ejecta of these small events are quite minimal when compared to the larger 2007 event, they are still a point of danger and are taken seriously by those who live and work around the permian basin superorganism. but I’m still really impressed!
earthquakes are incredibly scary though
not the little ones(at least for me since I deal with them so often)
but the big ones stop your heart in your chest
so you can tell what the cameraman’s thinking here
also RIP to whatever fell
but still though
when in an earthquake
get your head and neck under a table
cover those parts of your body with one of your hands
and hang on tight
plus stay there for a little bit after
