old sketch dump from late 2020
When I was in 1st grade, the sandbox in the playground had two weird old metallic pillars that were at least four meters high, because that school used to be a factory. All the kids wanted to climb on them, and that was obviously dangerous, but that certainly didn’t stop us.
So yeah, those metallic pillars in Eight’s TARDIS really remind me of the playground.
Explaining one of my favourite doctor who characters to people who are unfamiliar with the show or the extended universe is like:
Yeah, he's a bipedal lizard man. His first appearance is during literally the worst day of his life, in one of the worst pieces in the series. Within two minutes of his entrance he attempts to drown himself and the main protagonists bring him along because they don't trust him not to try again. He's generally a pretty nice guy, fairly normal actually. He can change colours!
Yeah, we later find out he was raised in a death cult. His father was a leader of said church. The blood of innumerable innocents is on his hands and when he sleeps he hears their screams. He was saved from the church and rehabilitated from being a deranged monk assassin by his cool wife L'da who he later was forced into mercy killing on what was supposed to be their wedding day. He will always carry the guilt.
He's got a grumpy, reluctant friendship with an Edwardian Adventuress and a time traveling amnesiac but he really loves and looks up to both of them. He's got a sarcastic sense of humour and speaks weirdly formally. He's generally fed up, but with the amount of bullshit he puts up with it's understandable. He literally ripped apart one of the most dangerous creatures in this universe with his bare hands.
Speaking of this universe, he is not from it. Yeah he's from a pocket universe without time.
He's written wildly inconsistently.
Some of the (very small) fandoms dearest headcannons are that he's really tall and that he wears a hoodie. We went fucking wild at the slightest confirmation in a picture that he may in fact wear one.
He keeps getting brainwashed and it's very frustrating, plus really distressing considering his backstory.
No one pronounces his name right if they read it.
He abhors violence.
Anyone familiar with him and the content he's in seems to either love him or despise him, but we all agree he should be written better.
I would die for him.
