Welcome back, after such a long hiatus, to Ask Cueball: Arc 2!!
As you can see, I decided to return to Tumblr! I am also going to set up a Cohost and possibly a Pillowfort for the comic as well - however they aren't up quite yet, as I'm actually away from home on a large trip and will be until the end of the month. Normally I would wait until things are less hectic to post, especially since I haven't decided on a new schedule (I work Saturdays now, so it's not a feasible schedule anymore), but today is also the 4th anniversary of Ask Cueball, and I felt there would be no better time than now to bring us back! It's been in the works for a long time, so I hope you enjoy what I have in store.

Orbot is a deeply unhappy individual. His life in the Eggman Empire is quite abusive, and under Eggman’s thumb, he’s not doing great. He is repeatedly reminded that no one outside of the Empire wants him, that he is unlovable, that he is made to fail. Even inside the Empire, he is beaten down both physically and emotionally. He can be lazy, sure, but most of his apathy stems from depression and a deep seated knowledge that nothing he does matters.
This causes him to behave like this– he is incredibly hostile, very unfriendly in his tone to others. He has moments of being more playful, of being easier to get along with, but once he’s back in the Empire, all of that seems to dry up.
There’s really only one person he can be truly himself around, and that’s Cubot.
Cubot has been with Orbot since the beginning–they have been together through thick and thin. No matter what’s to come, this inseparable pair will be together through it all. Orbot will sometimes try to hide his feelings in order to spare Cubot’s, but the big lug is more perceptive than he lets on. Maybe he doesn’t always understand Orbot’s exact emotions, but he can tell when something’s amiss. In fact, Cubot often gets upset when other people speak ill of Orbot, or call him a jerk or what have you, because Cubot knows the real Orbot. He knows that Orbot is a guy who cares deeply about him, who always puts in effort to get the job done, to keep things looking clean and presentable. Sure, Orbot may not always be the nicest, and has toxic tendencies himself, but if it came to choosing the world or Orbot, Cubot would always, always choose Orbot.
You can’t separate them for long.
