Yeah, seems very possible. That's really the only logical reason in my head why an anteater would be in the moonshine mob. And it's a win-win scenario: The anteater gets food via ant cops, the moonshine mob gets away with what they do since the cops are being stopped by the anteater before they can get to them

Do you think the puppies from the howling aces look similar to their father? Or mother?

I'm not entirely sure if the dogs in Howling Aces are related at all, but the puppies look way more like the bulldog than the saluki.

I believe the "snail announcer" you're talking about is the boss/leader of the Moonshine Mob. So I would think hiding under the anteater's hat provides him some extra protection from the police since, as mentioned before, the anteater is most likely there to get rid of the cops for the mob. Also, you wouldn't expect anyone, let alone the leader of a mob, to be under the hat of someone.
