she cried . . . wailed throughout the night --- the village suffered a disaster and kiyo's family was no exception. mother , father and brother : gone gone GONE. was she alone ? no , the demon was still lurking around . . . small frame was hard to find when she was hiding , curled up like a ball. kiyo only came out of hiding when she thought the demon was gone.

shaking in fear , kiyo held her hands up . . . waiting to be cut down but than she appeared. the moon surrounded her frame , a butterfly ? kiyo was in shock as the women bent down , a smile on her face . . . faint “   hey , i've got you.   ” the demon was gone and she was alone. “   i --- am i the only one ?  ” shaking , kiyo stood up with her help , squeezing her hand : eyes shut as the remaining tears trailed down her cheek. she couldn't look , not again “   okasan . . otosan . . nii-san,  ” hands grab at her rescuers arm , head down : what now ?
