I think another important point to add to this largely good take is to remember that Amber Heard was abusive too, and did a lot of shitty things herself. Meanwhile if were born in the mid 90’s to early 2000’s you probably grew up watching Depp on the big screen. Everyone has seen Pirates of the Caribbean his role as Jack Sparrow is what makes those movies. So if the actor of your childhood hero says he’s been abused by his wife you’re going to listen especially if you’re one of those “Disney Adults.”
