Utah Desert

When I was a young boy in the 1950s we lived in Utah for a while. I was maybe six or seven. We, my friends and I, would go for long walks through the beautiful high plains desert. Sometimes in the distance we could hear big booms as they tested nuclear weapons across the mountains in Nevada.

2024. I'm living in the Philippines now. In the distance I can hear roosters crowing and dogs barking. Different time different world.
