actually yknow what this goes on main because fuck it

this was a pet peeve i didnt know i had until today but im gonna be honest: i think its dumb when people complain about certain digimon being too humanoid!

i know that, to some people, it might be weird seeing a small cat turn into an angel lady with big boobs but also like... it's DIGImon! theyre DIGITAL monsters! theyre based off of the INTERNET!! and, you know whats really common on the internet? ladies with big boobs!!! (of course there isnt 0 fault in digimon, the repeated oversexualization of women is gross and weird and im not gonna argue against that but also!! it makes sense!!) (dont mention that digimon came out when the internet was still in it's baby stages though i dont have a good argument against that)

you know what i think? i think people are applying pokemon rules... to digimon. and i can get where the misconception may lie, seeing as they were both monster "collecting" franchises with similar names, and especially because digimon launched after the monster collecting craze that started once pokemon became really popular, but i think people fail to realize that... they are different franchises, plus the dynamic between pokemon trainer and pokemon vs digimon tamer and digimon are wayyy more different then one would think.

first of all, digimon can talk! digimon can talk and have obvious personalities and funny banter (of course that doesnt mean that all their "funny" banter is good *looks at digimon fusion and digimon frontier in contempt*) unlike pokemon where they cant talk and just repeat their name!

also, second of all, digimon are usually either destined to be with their tamer or choose their tamer because they genuinely liked them! (and, in digimon tamers, could renounce their tamer if they didnt like them!) most of the time pokemon never get a damn choice whether or not they want to get caught or not, no matter how much the anime will tell you otherwise. in pokemon, the pokemon are treated like animals but in digimon, the digimon are treated like people! people who have wants and desires! (dont. mention the digimon games where you do actually collect them. this dont count)
