This is kinda getting ridiculous

Ya'll understand that all of them are flawed characters, right? Mabel, Stan, Dipper, and Ford.

Hell, even the side characters and now BILL too.

Like, okay, make fun of their flaws and stuff (they are fictional, I doubt they care), but understand the fact that they're complex as fuck.

Dipper is as selfish as Mabel. Sure, he sacrifices a lot, but you do know that Mabel isn't being put in these sacrificial situations like Dipper is being, right??

Stan and Ford were both abused. Both have family trauma and responded differently. Both love the kids and never thought that they were a burden. Stan saw himself in both the kids. The positives in Mabel and negatives in Dipper and wanted to fix them. He wanted Dipper to be tough and not make the mistakes he did.

And due to Ford's trauma, he couldn't trust his own family (except Dipper, who he saw himself in). That's the reason why Bill even got a chance at destroying the world, the lack of trust.

Speaking of Bill, even he has trauma. I haven't read the book of Bill, but from what I can gather (if they're true), he had a birth defect that let him see the 3rd dimension. Due to that, he was given medications that purposefully made him blind.

I believe after that, he did manage to reach the 3rd dimension (I'm probably skipping some beats, but eh), but in doing so, he destroyed his own dimension. Later saying, he "liberated" his own dimension, which is just textbook denial if I've ever seen.

It's probably one of the most accurate versions of trauma I've seen in a children's show. Certain life experiences and shaping life decisions no matter how small.

Ngl I kind of hate Ford haters as much as I hate Mabel haters,

I firmly believe that Ford was an ass, but like ya’ll realized he was abused right?

Bill did the Sci Fi version of roofie-ing your boyfriend and mutilating his body, it wasn’t a “owo toxic yaoi” it was straight up abuse, and practically stated DV.

Not to say you can’t have fun with billford or can’t be pissed at how Ford treats everyone in his life, but I want you to at least acknowledge what gave him those traits.

If you’re going to hate at least do it with nuance.
