I have this headcanon that monsters are not assigned any gender at birth, they just refer to everyone with neutral pronouns unless told otherwise by that person or someone who knows them. They may or may not have certain features most humans consider masculine/feminine, and thus some might assume a monster's gender, but monsters themselves couldn't care less about appearances. Because I think those differences don't show up until a monster hits puberty or something, and even THAT doesn't happen with every type of monster. Aaaand I also think they don’t have genitals so there is NO WAY someone could say a person is [insert binary gender here] until a certain age

But maybe it works only for undertale (y'know, because monsterkind was isolated from humanity's influence for ages), and in deltarune they have agabs. But I'd like to think they are still super supportive of trans folks. Everywhere, not just in the Hometown
