gillion still hears their screams. the nightmares and being trapped with the elders sticks with him.

every time he hears chip whimper or even grunt from an injury he feels his heart shatter again in his chest. the shards somehow making their way to his throat making it hard to breathe.

the first time he sees jay cry after his time with the elders all he hears are the elders chastising him for surrounding himself with such “weak” people. as they echo in his head his heart breaks. the way she was nearly taken from him and the fact those voices still haunt him.

when he steps back on the albatross his heart fell apart. he was back at home, scuffed wood floor boards and knife kicked barrels were real.
