Who’s your fav jjk char?

100%, without a doubt, Yuji Itadori.

He's very much outside my usual favorite, I usually speed right for the dark, silent types. Yuji is my first sunshine type I've liked, and it's such a breath of fresh air.

Even though Yuji is often a device to further explain the Jujutsu world, that's not all he's reduced to. He very clearly impacts people, like how Megumi, Nobara and Gojo were all pretty depressed after he "died," even though they'd only known him for about 1-2 weeks. Then Nanami after he took Yuji with him, and Junpei who wanted to be like Yuji.

Obviously, my fellow manga enjoyers will understand when I say Yuji is a tragic character, and I'm both impressed and saddened by his character development. And I relate on some level, but we're not getting into that.

What drew me to him was how the manga started. It focused immediately on Yuji being bound in some cultish room, with some weird albino with a blindfold on. Then it cut to previous events, which revealed he's not a dark, silent type and I was intrigued.

As I continued to follow him in the manga, the more I fell in love with him. He's not a dramatic Eren Yeager main character, he's not whiny, he's not overbearing, he just...is. He doesn't stick on his grandfather's last words for long, rather he grows with them and eventually breaks away as his character develops.

He's immediately ready to sacrifice himself so that Angel can free Gojo from the box, and wholeheartedly believes everything will be right again following his death. Obviously, we know that is no longer the case. (Rip Megumi.)

He's just so...authentic. So to himself. Gege of course is an amazing writer and artist, and I like that he never has Yuji stray too far from his own character, even while he develops. Some characters completely lose themselves, and some make sense and some don't. His character just didn't call for it, and I'm so glad Gege realized this.

Yuji is just so selfless, influential, happy (sort of), and is used in the correct way that just gives me goosebumps. So yeah, Yuji Itadori is my favorite JJK character. Thanks for asking, anon!
