Fic: Mystra's Gambit - Tumblr Posts
I started a new fic about LANCEBOARD (aka chess) :3
Chapters: 1/3 Fandom: Baldur's Gate (Video Games) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Astarion/Gale (Baldur's Gate) Characters: Astarion (Baldur's Gate), Gale (Baldur's Gate), Wyll (Baldur's Gate), Shadowheart (Baldur's Gate), Lae'zel (Baldur's Gate), Karlach (Baldur's Gate) Additional Tags: Eventual Smut, Chess, enemies to friends to lovers kinda, They also have a bookclub, Other Additional Tags to Be Added Summary:
After Gale accuses Astarion of cheating at cards, the rogue picks up an interest in learning lanceboard to challenge the wizard at his game of preference. To sweeten the deal and make things more interesting, the two agree that the victor wins a favor from the loser. ~~
The quiet, slow deliberateness made in each move by Gale was gone now. Astarion had fallen into the wizard's trap and he was starting to see there would be no way out of it. All of the vampire's moves would be made out of a desperate clumsy attempt to protect his king and prolong its downfall. "Razor's Edge to queen's bishop two."
He continued his oration as he reached over, an index finger resting on a pawn. "Because sometimes, that small victory is enough to give them the momentum to keep going forward. The resolve of man to survive against all odds – fascinating, wouldn't you agree?" He moved the pawn diagonal, replacing Astarion's pawn with his own, inching ever so closer to the black side of the board. Once more, his bishop had a clear shot to his Cyric. "Pawn to queen's knight seven. Check."

when will mystra's gambit come back from the war </3 (I'm joking, I'm not trying to be rude just genuinely curious!)
Soon(tm)! I'm all seriousness, I have been working on the third chapter very slowly, but it just takes me time because the chapters are usually denser than my other stuff hehee.
I got caught up in some fic exchanges but now that those are done, I plan to finish sating the hunger so I can close that chapter of my life and then I'll be more focused on mystra's gambit!!

Posted chessfic chapter 3 last night :)
Pleeeease tell me you’re working on the last chapter for mystra’s gambit!!! Cannot express how *obsessed* I am with your writing, truly phenomenal 🥰
Ahhh thank you - yes I am working on it!! I've been bouncing between actively writing 3-4 fic wips, so my progress is a little slow, but I'm about halfway through the last chapter for mystra's gambit. :)
hello currently fighting the dark urge to break the final chapter of mystra's gambit in half so i can extend the tension for just a little longer (also i could theoretically update the fic sooner)
