I just played the ending sequence of my game FriendShapes with all music in it I just did and wow, watching the credits with the music n seeing it basically capped off aside from one or two fixes is really somethin - still needs a few tweaks but it's really basically done, after almost 4 years - crazy






Potentially the last day of testing for me with my game FriendShapes, then it's for testers to check a final time... it's been a whole lot of work, most of it wrestling with bloody RPG Maker MV and its occasionally severe limitations and ton of plugins used - but it's basically finished
Demo's been up for years and hasn't caught many people's attention, I'm hoping it being the full release will convince people to give it a ago - most people don't want to play a demo, they want the whole thing at once... either way, game'll be done and dusted 🤘

Woaaah FriendShapes is done, after 4 years of work and struggle - literally all that's left is any fixes indicated by testers 🙏

Going through FriendShapes's's's description to add n change stuff given it'll be going from Demo to Full Release at some point soon, so thought I'd made this to add to the description later to go with the examples of Shapes it lists:
Blood Shadow: A spectre-like being, body of blood and powered by the neural pain signals of others, never having felt pain as we do, they have no way of relating to suffering.
Huh?Man: Something seemingly masquerading in a mascot-like Human Suit made of what you hope isn't stitched together skin, they are very adamant on you visiting their Huh?House…
The Collective: The sound of canned audience laughter follows them wherever they go. They enjoy nothing more than watching every moment of someone's memory over and over again until the preverbal tape of their memory is totally worn to nothing as they see every moment of their lives, all the while laughing.
Excogidiomycota: Some sort of fungal life-form that reacts to stimuli they can't quite sense by attempting to grow the necessary sensory organs.
Abandoned Mascot: What you can only assume is a person in a dog-eared mascot suit, though they waver between "Mascot" mode and "Not Quite Self-Actualized Corpse" modes of behaviour.
Conceptual Parasite: Just try not to think about it too much.
The Beckon
Mícheart Jinsil: Friendly, maybe even overly so, a strange person that insists you're best friends and seems to know what you've been up to while wandering Leavalley… they always have something to say and tend to turn up when you least expect them.
As I've arbitrarily decided that the full game of FriendShapes will be available starting this Saturday, I thought I'd share a track you'd not have encounter yet (given I put it together last week)!
The game is a lite-RPG horror surrealist experience with the battles (or encounters) being puzzle-like and without you attacking, but interacting with who and what you find
It's 7-10 hours in length, has almost 40 encounters, 74 original tracks of music, 5 Digressions and took me almost 4 years to make 🎉

Started workin on the #FriendShapes OST - Disc 2 (post demo) music videos and think I'll go for this style instead of using film of the game - partly due to it being easier and secondly that I don't want to spoil too much - also I just think it looks neat 🙌

Started posting the rest of #FriendShapes' OST to Youtube - one track per day until we run out (in March), here's the first video of the second batch, a boss encounter!
One of the very few songs already made before #FriendShapes was conceptualized, The Tilt Shift, which sounds like the final transmission of a decrepit radio tower in a desolate world, automating its signing off for the last time:
If you played the FriendShapes demo then this track'd be new to you - it now plays when you've completed a Digression!
This is the part where stuff starts getting Weird (even for #FriendShapes), it only gets stranger from here - really looking forward to anyone reaching this section of the game 🙌
FriendShapes OST later on starts to get very off-kilter and weird - it's best experienced in-game for the first time but it's up on YT anyway for those that wanna hear it (and/or hear it again) 👋


Finally found the time to start workin on info sheets for tribes and Entities again, recently done the Blood Shadow and The Collective - I've not posted these publicly aside from one or two discord servers I thought may be interested - there's a lot more info on these two rascals but I s'pose it can wait until I post them onto DA or somewhere (though I could post info on here if anyone's interested)
Finally, one of my fav songs I did is out, it's a really weird mash-up of various previous themes so if you're familiar with previous FriendShape themes you'll recognise various motifs in it, it starts with applause and laughing at a music box playing
Who doesn't like random quiz mini-game battles with funky music in video games?

A weirdly mechanical multi-stage theme for one of the more experimental (and hopefully not too laggy) encounters in #FriendShapes - I look forward to hearing about people's experiences in this section of the game 🙌
