"By standing here? I suppose you're the type to blame wind resistance on a bad shot as well." He literally didn't want anything to do with her gun so he stood off to the side staring into the middle distance for any Grimm or otherwise ambushes.
"Tch, get behind me." Regardless on where at Atlas dog, bared their fangs, he still was responsible for her protection- and protect he shall!

The shot from the rifle rang out as Eira pulled the trigger, but when she checked where she’d aimed, she growled softly in anger before glaring.
“You made me miss my shot.”
Great. Now this mission just got a lot harder.
"Getting behind me isn't cause I don't respect you as a warrior...but when I'm on the battlefield- I am utterly incapable of holding back." He was called the Vacuian-Demon for a reason.
"With all due respect...I seen plenty die, I wish to not see any potential allies fall again." He didn't care for Atlas, but that didn't mean he wanted the people to die, this was someone's family, friend, ally and he didn't want to bear any bad news. He revved his sword and flames sputtered out as he threw himself to the nearest grimm that he saw.
“I don’t need protecting…” By the gods, she wasn’t some helpless damsel. Nevermind the fact that she’d missed her shot earlier. It was a momentary error.
She sighed, getting up from her kneeling position to stow away her rifle.
“Still, I’ll stick by you if it means we can succeed on this mission.”
Lance, cutting through the bone mask of an Ursa would look over his shoulder and give her quick nod, he trusted her even if she was from Atlas, they had a common enemy- The grimm.
"You'll have someone to watch yours too." Still he worried if something were to try ambushing her- he'd place a hand on his chest a white light jutting out. With a snap of his fingers he'd call out a name. "FALCOR!"
The energy would shoot out his back and a giant avian creature would sore out, flying above them, this was his family's semblance, summoning! Falcor would fly silent, turning it's giant head towards the girl and diving towards her- striking some worm like grimm sneaking on her, ripping into them like a real animal.
“Good… all the better to get rid of the Grimm.”
Honestly, Eira didn’t want to see any more die either. There had been enough suffering as of late. Last thing she wanted was to be the bearer of bad news to anyone else.
She lifted her rifle, shooting at oncoming Grimm that were approaching from all sides.
“I got your back. I’ll shoot any that try to sneak up on you.”
